Welcome to the little cottage in northern Michigan- a cozy stay for beautiful Michigan summers (& winters!) Nestled by the woods and conveniently located on M22 about halfway between Glen Arbor and Leland, this cottage is about 1.5 miles from gorgeous Lake Michigan beaches (walkable), the Heritage Bike Trail and Little Traverse lake boat launch and park. Enjoy the beautiful hikes or bike rides down Little Traverse Lake rd. or in the wooded trails just down the road from the cottage while being close to restaurants and shopping. In the winter, skiing at the Homestead resort Is only 15 minutes away and beautiful Crystal Mountain and easy 45 minute drive. Rent snow shoes at M22 in Glen Arbor and take advantage of hiking the beautiful trails. Timberlee Hills is a short 20 minute drive for a fun day of snow tubing. A walk down Little Traverse Lake road on a winter day is quiet and beautiful. Our cottage is beautifully decorated with a modern cottage flair, recently remodeled kitchen and bathroom and comfortable, cozy bedrooms. We have a large fire pit for lovely evening fires, especially on a cool or winter evening. Fantastic especially in a snowfall! Ideal for a romantic getaway. Parking is available for boat/trailer on side yard. We take great pride in our clean beautiful cottage and hope you love it as much as we do. Please note that we do not have cable tv, but do have chromecast on the television. We also do have a small room air conditioner in the primary bedroom but the cottage is shaded and stays cool in the summer.

I'll start by saying a 3 star for me is an average property. Good for a couple or couple with two small children, or two very close couples. It fit our needs for a couple nights in the area. The owner is very helpful and responsive. The property is old, but has been updated, I'm guessing 10 ish years ago. No washer and dryer available. Air conditioning is only in the main bedroom. We were lucky it was quite cool, not so sure if it was 90. Cute and adequate, updated kitchen. Some items could be replaced; toaster and stove that has 3 working burners. The beds were very soft. The living areas are good; adequate seating and decorated cutely. The TV is Chromecast, so you need to cast your apps onto the TV. The WiFi is not great, very slow. There's one bath, as stated. No fan in the bath, and it's quite small.
The location is nice and centrally located. It is on a main road, and this could be a problem if you had small children. It is close to the beaches and activities.
This was definitely one of the best rental experiences I have had based on the description meeting expectations and location. Home was beautiful, updated, and clean. A two minute drive from the beach and perfect location to explore other parts of the peninsula including sleeping bear sand dunes. We will be back!
One note, if you do have kids/small children the house is right on M-22 (like 20 ft). Road noise wasn’t an issue and the side yard with firepit actually feels pretty secluded but something to consider.
We had a fantastic stay at this home! The location allowed us to visit many nearby locations without having to travel more than 20 minutes. The host reached out to offer an early check in time which was greatly appreciated! I knew she was always a quick text away if we needed anything.
Updated, comfortable cottage in pefect location for exploring the area.
Very clean and nicely appointed. Literally, had everything we needed, or forgot. We enjoyed the fire pit and the wooded setting away from the hustle and bustle. Was homey, rather than stripped down and sterile like some rentals can be. We enjoyed the Plein Air painters that were working throughout the area this weekend and that local original art was used to decorate the cottage. Owners were great to work with! Would definitely come back.
Perfect home base for an awesome weekend of winery hopping. Cottage was warm, clean and nicely updated. Living room was a great space in the evenings and the master bed was extremely comfortable. Hosts were fantastic throughout, very responsive and helpful. Everything up this way requires a short drive to reach, but this location is fairly central and a short trip to some great restaurants and wineries. Probably close to other things too, but we were focused on eating and drinking!
Everything was great! Love the location and the way that you have modernized the cottage, but still kept its charm. Cottage had every amenity we needed. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!
My husband and I stayed with our two girls (7 & 9) for four nights at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage was super cozy, well appointed, and plenty of space for the four of us. It's proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes was just what we were looking for--we spent our days hiking, biking, going to the Lake Michigan beach--it was fantastic. Lisa was an EXCELLENT host, super responsive, and offered many recommendations on where to eat and what to visit in the area, many of which we tried. Our girls' favorite thing we tried based on her recommendations was kayaking the Crystal River. It was a beautiful experience, and the right pace for their first time kayaking. We also loved walking the trail behind the cottage to Lake Michigan and driving the couple minutes down Bohemian Road to the beach. She even had marshmallow roasting sticks, and we enjoyed smores around the fire pit in the side yard. We had zero complaints overall and hope to visit again in the future!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely and cozy cottage. Location was great as it was close to Glen Arbor, Empire, and not far from Traverse City.
My family and I had a great long weekend at the cottage! It’s in a wonderful central location for exploring Suttons Bay and Leland along with Glen Arbor and the dunes. Super close (under 5 min drive) to a beautiful beach with ample parking. Lots of nearby trails as well. Highly recommended!
Adding to all the good reviews for this property, I loved my stay here. The owners have created a super cheery, delightful space of many eras. Bright and comfy and cozy and clean and well kept, I would recommend it to anyone and I would stay again. Its proximity to the western front of MI, its indoor and outdoor hang out spots, its old and new world charm, a true smile. Lisa the owner is completely available but completely non-invasive in the experience. I enjoyed her and her property and her kindness. She truly wants you to enjoy her artful zone, but she respects any desire for privacy, so she was also a delight in the rental....Loved it, no problems with it whatsoever. Thanks again L! Keep Shining, <3 <3 :) L
My husband and I had the best time here at the cottage! Beautiful place, extremely clean, cozy, and not to mention in an area that is close to amazing sites! You are right in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, 4 minutes away from Bohemia Beach, 7 from Good Harbor which has a great sunset view, about 20 to Fishtown and Glen Arbor, and 30 to Traverse! There's plenty to do, or you can enjoy the quaint backyard firepit. Don't be nervous about the lack of AC (I'm pregnant so I was at first) but it's so shady, has a ceiling fan in the living room, and a little window unit in the master bedroom. So it's super cool! The host was absolutely incredible, so accomidating. This is a must stay! We are certainly coming back in the fall, or next summer.
Very cozy and clean cottage. Lisa was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Window AC was added to main bedroom which was very helpful.
Family room was very cozy and just what we needed to unplug for a week with our kids. Perfect little cottage with an entry room where we could dump all of our beach items and pack/unpack for the beach.
It’s In a central location as we spent most of our time in Traverse City, Glen Arbor and Lake Ann.
It’s off the main road but you can’t hear the cars once inside. Beach is 3 minutes away by car, we didn’t want to walk with a stroller as there is no sidewalk.
We enjoyed our stay very much and we will definitely consider coming back to the cottage in the future.
Also- Lisa was so sweet. We accidentally left our daughters blanket behind and she immediately mailed it back to us. Thank you again Lisa!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The location is perfect, surrounded by so many fun things to see and do. Would definitely recommend!
The place was very clean with two ample bedrooms and a very nice kitchen with a large fridge and plenty of countertop space if you want to cook. The shower was soothing, and the hosts answered any questions about the area and offered great recommendations about things to do.
Excellent location, outstanding and communicative host, beautiful clean neat cottage, straightforward instructions. Host’s recommendations for restaurants and activities were very helpful. Highly recommend this one, made for a perfect experience. Will be coming back.
Fantastic little cottage. Exactly as advertised. Clean and well-maintained. Close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and various other beaches and activities. Really enjoyed the fire pit area.
This cottage is in a perfect location between Leland and Glen Arbor. It was very clean and charming, however I did not see on the listing that air conditioning was not provided. We happened to stay on one of the hottest weekends, and the cottage was almost 85 degrees inside. Unfortunately it was almost unbearable to stay and sleep in those conditions. However, the host was very helpful and friendly and this would be a perfect spot to stay on a cooler weekend.
Perfect location, so clean and cute. Loved this house for a trip with my daughters and mom. The very short drive to Lake Michigan made this property a dream location. Easy access to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City and Glen Arbour.
The decor was welcoming and comfortable. We used the fire pit outside and enjoyed the yard.
The host was quick to answer questions and gave a thorough list of reccomedations which proved to make our trip more enjoyable. If your headed to the area it’s the place to stay!
We stayed the weekend for my moms 60th birthday. Lisa got us a bottle of sparkling wine to enjoy when we got there. The beds were super comfortable, cleanliness was a 10/10, location was perfect between Glen arbor & traverse & the communication with Lisa was great! We will for sure recommend to friends for an affordable, fun, convenient getaway. (:
We had an excellent stay, in this comfortable, cozy cabin! The cabin is beautifully updated with all the modern amenities, while preserving some of its original historic charm. The location is great for accessing great resort towns surrounding Traverse city. Scott and Lisa were excellent communicators, and very welcoming! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
