Elegantly situated only a short walk from charming Cruz Bay, this exquisitely appointed and fully equipped corner accommodation features an over sized covered terrace, designer furnishings, central A/C in every room, 2 flat screen TVs w/ DVD, Ipod/Iphone docking stations, guide books, tasteful artwork and complete kitchen. Your St. John escape will have you high up in the upper building of Grande Bay Resort, the ideal location on St. John for convenience. An enjoyable 5 minute stroll gets you into town so renting a vehicle will not be necessary. A Reserved Parking spot in the covered garage is available for those who do rent a jeep.

Cruz Bay offers excellent shopping, fine restaurants, evening entertainment and affordable transportation to the famous St. John National Park beaches. One of the benefits of your stay in this rental is the option to take a 20 minute walk to two of St. John’s most pristine and private beaches, Salomon and Honeymoon beaches.

Inside your unit you will have beautiful views from all of the living areas and kitchen. No obstructed views here. This is a highly desirable End Unit with the most sweeping views in the entire resort. You will be staying in a Full Size 1 bedroom, not a smaller “lock out” unit that is part of a two bedroom offered by others. The bedroom features a King Size bed with a separate private patio, flat screen TV, and a safe to store your valuables.

Enjoy all new furnishings throughout. The living room has a queen size sleeper sofa, bar area and entertainment center. Our fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances has all you need to fix everything from a gourmet meal to blending refreshing frozen island drinks. When it is time to venture out onto the beautiful island, no need to fret about beach supplies, your new home-away-from-home comes fully stocked with beach towels, chairs and coolers. In the evening you can enjoy the flat screen TV and our DVD collection, surf the net with our free wi-fi (also, free long distance and domestic telephone calls), listen to your favorite music or our CD's on the stereo with CD player, or just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Enjoy the spectacular island photography on the walls.

You will want to spend lots of time relaxing on the outside terrace which is mostly covered, but also has an uncovered area to work on that tan. From the terrace you will never tire of the unobstructed views ranging from the deserted off shore islands nestled in the Windward Passage to the sailboats skimming through Pillsbury Sound to the dramatic Sunsets resting upon St. Thomas.

You will not soon forget this romantic spot for sharing evening sunset cocktails and the twinkling lights. Because of its covered privacy, we often fall asleep here on the lounge chairs under the stars with the cool breezes and the sound of the nearby surf.

About The Owner

We live in Wilmington, NC, but absolutely love our 2nd home on St. John. We have been traveling to St. John every year since 2001 and are excited every time we get to go back to our St. John escape.


The Owner purchased this condo in 2008

Why The Owner chose Saint John

We couldn't find a better location on St. John that would give us both spectacular views and the convenience of being so close to town. Being able to walk everywhere means a lot to us. We don't always feel like we need to rent a jeep which is a plus. It is also nice not to have to worry about driving after having maybe one too many Painkillers at the Beach Bar. Having a reserved parking space in the covered garage is a great benefit. No more parking hassles driving into Cruz Bay.

What makes this condo unique

We love that we have a view of the water from every living area. We have sweeping views that we never tire of from the terrace. The terrace is furnished for outdoor dining and it is the perfect spot for sipping morning coffee and checking out all that is going on in the harbor. Cocktails while watching the unbelievable St. John sunsets are always a highlight of the day. We can't get over how easy it is to do everything we want on St. John starting right from our condo. It is so easy to get to all the shops, restaurants and bars. There are also hikes into the National Park we can take starting right from our place. Maybe our favorite thing to do is to walk to Salomon beach on the great National Park trail.

We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon!! There are so many adventures that we did that it is hard to choose our favorite. We loved how beautiful the view is from your home and the kitchen is a wonderful break from going out. Reading a book, watching the world go by, drinking coffee and eating fresh fruit on your balcony was the ultimate relaxation we wanted. Thank you so much, we can't wait to come back!!!

Convenient, well maintained, great view of Cruz Bay

This property is conveniently located within walking distance of shopping and dining in Cruz Bay. We rented a jeep and parking in the parking garage is included at this property. Very nice to have this available. The property itself is very nice, well kept, and has a wonderful view of Cruz Bay from the balcony. To be honest, we really only used the bedroom, bathroom, fridge, and balcony. There is a nicely equipped kitchen, but we did not take advantage of it during our stay. We will definitely be returning and this is a location we will try to book again next year.

Beautiful and Convenient

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this slice of paradise for 4 short nights. St. John Escape is beautifully decorated, very spacious for 2 people, fully equipped, and has an amazing view to make it complete. We chose not to rent a car since we were only on island a short amount of time. We hiked the trail to Solomon and Honeymoon beaches. We took a boat tour to the BVIs (Stormy Pirates) one day. The last full day we decided to grab a dinghy ride (VI Ecotours) back to Honeymoon Beach for the afternoon. We walked to all the restaurants and the mini mart. Drinks at the Longboard were unique. The stuffed French toast at Sun Dog Cafe was seriously good!! I would return to stay here and will recommend to all my friends! Stop looking and book your vacation to paradise!

Come to St. John

We debated about whether to stick with our reservation and come to St. John after Hurricane Irma visited on October 6, 2017 and we are very glad that we did. As of our visit on February 24, 2018, all the activities here are up and running including boating, sailing and of course the beaches. Many restaurants are open and more are in the process of reopening. The will and spirit of the islanders is amazing. They are clearly St. John Strong and are showing it.

This condo and the Grande Bay development is everything that Leslie and Peter’s description and photos say it is. The unit itself is very up to date, well maintained and well stocked. Large washer and dryer and dishwasher are a plus. There are beach chairs, umbrella and coolers which are perfect for the beach. The views of the Cruz Bay harbor, Pillsbury Sound and St. Thomas and Jost Van Dyke are amazing. Because the unit is on the 3rd floor and a corner unit it has a wraparound view and gets a delightful breeze from the east.

As we were considering whether to come (as a result of the hurricanes) we were in contact with Leslie and she was extremely helpful and very responsive in providing updates on the island and Grande Bay. Their unit was not damaged in the hurricanes and the damage to Grande Bay was minimal. They were lucky as others like the Westin Resort and Caneel Bay were severely damaged and are closed for a very long time.

You really don’t need a rental car as Cruz Bay shopping and restaurants are within an easy walk and the beaches and grocery shopping can be reached by taxi. Parking in Cruz Bay is a problem so unless you really need a car you can avoid that expense and hassle. But my wife has a bum knee so we did rent a car (St. John’s Car Rental). Importantly, this unit has covered parking in the lowest level and that is a great convenience.

Rochelle of St. John Villa Company Management is the property manager and she is EXCELLENT. She contacted us early on to confirm arrival plans, was in contact as we boarded the ferry in St. Thomas, met us at the ferry and gave us a tour of Grande Bay and the unit. We had a couple of questions and she responded quickly and in a most helpful way. She is a great resource and very much a positive aspect of renting this unit.

Unless our plans change, we will return to St. John and will intend to book this unit again.

The location of the property was close to everything we needed such as restaurants, shopping, bars and beaches. The unit itself was decorated beautifully and had everything you needed. There were beach chairs, coolers, sunscreen, etc. The view from the balcony was the best part of all. We spent many hours there watching the boats come into the harbor. It was a perfect vacation except..........when we went to rent a vechicle. We chose Denzil Clyne. Big mistake. The woman we dealt was very rude. She acted as though she hated her job and hated tourists also. We later learned there are several other rental companies on the island. Please do not waste your time going to this company. ..........................................Would highly recommend Grande Bay Resort for your next vacation. We plan on going back next year. Thanks to the Langer's for their hospitality.
