Get the full historic Santa Fe experience when you stay in Fiddler’s Retreat, a charming adobe bungalow with a close distance to the Plaza and Canyon Road attractions. With a covered patio and completely walled outdoor area, your pets will enjoy accompanying you on this step into a unique and fascinating culture.

There’s space to pull your car off the street at Fiddler’s Retreat. Park and walk through the gate into your private walled courtyard and patio. Indoors, your eyes will immediately go to the authentic log-beamed ceiling. The comfortable living room features rugs in Native American designs, a large TV with cable and a comfortable couch and chairs where you can gather. Plus, the couch makes out into a queen-size sofa sleeper for two guests.

In addition to the TV, you’ll find a plethora of books you can enjoy out in the garden on a sunny afternoon or snuggled up on the couch. Fiddler’s Retreat has air-conditioning so you’ll stay cool if you visit in the summer. Just off the living room you’ll find a beautifully updated kitchen with plenty of cabinets and all the pots, pans, appliances and serving ware you need to cook for your group. There is no oven in the unit, only a cooktop stove and toaster oven.

Of course, Santa Fe is known for its exquisite cuisine. With your location so close to the Plaza, you’ll probably want to dine out on many evenings. If not, you can eat in and take your food out to enjoy on the patio. Everything seems to taste a little bit better outdoors on the high desert.

Use the Fiddler’s Retreat free Wi-Fi to check out websites for all the places you want to visit. Skiing, hiking, visiting Loretto Chapel, golfing, taking in the Santa Fe Railroad Yard with all its cultural and dining attraction — all this and more is possible. At night, you’ll settle into the primary bedroom’s queen-size bed for a good night’s sleep. There’s an en suite bathroom with walk-in shower just steps from the bed.

What a great place! There was plenty of room for myself, my wife, my 4 year old, my 7 year old and my dog. The private yard was pleasantly small and peaceful and made for great afternoon reading sessions. One drawback, the doorway between the living room and the kitchen is about 6 feet, 3 inches tall. I hit my head several times before we finally taped some ribbons to hang down and serve as a reminder to myself to duck.

Fiddler’s Retreat is in an excellent location - on a quiet side street a 15 minute walk to the plaza. The response from the management company was exceptional - we needed a few things and they responded immediately. Note - suitable for one couple as the bathroom is off the bedroom. PS: the best in-house book collection we’ve ever seen!

Nice stay

Beautiful inside and out! Quality furnishings and loved the well-equipped kitchen. The “library” was amazing - fantastic selection. Bed was comfy and so zen. Great bath, too. The garden is so pretty!

Great stay in the heart of Santa Fe

Beautiful property. Decor and color scheme so calming. Has everything you need. Easy walking distance to highlights in Santa Fe. The only surprise to us was that it is a casita that shares the outside area with the main house, which wasn’t clear on the listing. No one was staying at the main residence while we were there, but it would have changed the experience if there would have been other guests. Very nice property though. :)

Nice, close to square, not a lot of storage.

Very clean. Kitchen had everything you need. There is barely any extra space. We lived out of open suit cases. The condo is nice. The floors are heated, but the fan ran the entire time. The futon was nice, but there were no sheets or blankets (it was cold out). Proximity to the square was super great, we like to walk. We’d stay again, but would prepare differently.

Owners find a new Property Manager!

1.After hour check in 7:30 ish. Snowed during day 6”. Did not scoop a path to get the key in the lock box nor was there a light to see the lock box. 2. Did not scoop drive or path to the unit nor the path to trash can, rocky, icy, treacherous steps. Reached out. No response. 3. Chair was broken on arrival. Sofa and bed like a rock. 4. Roof leaked all over another chair. 5. Location was great.

Quaint, small, and quirky

The property itself is cute, tucked away behind a larger house, and the location is perfect for anyone who wants to be near the plaza. It says that it will sleep up to four people, although if you're staying there for any length of time, there really isn't room. The dining table seats two, and it is small. There are no other work surfaces, a huge tv we didn't use, and the kitchen is nice, but not really easy to cook in - no real cooking equipment. There is one set of drawers, three small ones, and a metal hanging rack for about 8 shirts or jackets. No closets, no other places to put clothes. The washer and dryer are very small, and even with a very small load, it didn't do well. I ended up having to hang up the four pairs of socks, six underwear, and two t-shirts so they would dry. It is not accessible, and parking is tucked into the place, just before the "gate." It's a wooden door to the side of the main house where there is parking and garbage. There is no street parking, and I'd advise anyone visiting to use one vehicle. On the positive side, it's very clean, nice bathroom, and there is a table and flatware for bringing food into the unit. There is alot of light and there is air conditioning for the summer, provided you have the remotes. I might recommend this for one person, maybe two, but no longer than a few days.
