About Dawn Lednum

A 4th generation native to the Eatern Shore. I grew up here and never left...I own Chesapeake Bay Real Estate Plus,LLC in St.Michaels.

Dawn Lednum purchased this house in 2005

Why Dawn Lednum chose Maryland

I looked for years for the perfect spot.I grew up in Claiborne and always wanted a house on Eastern Bay. This property had it all...Big views, cove views, protected shoreline, beach, sunsets and a stone jetty to fish on any time the mood hit. It was large enough to build our vacation rental, 2 piers and a swimming pool for all.

What makes this house unique

We custom built the house to take advantage of the amazing views of Eastern Bay.Each bedroom walks out on the porches.

We are 5 minutes to St.Michaels and less than 2 hours to Ocean City, Baltimore, Washington DC and BWI Airport.

A beautiful and idyllic location

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfectly situated in a quiet area with a fantastic view of the water. Sadly we were not so lucky with the weather but can only imagine that the sunsets and rises from the balcony would be quite special. Our only criticisms would be that the cutlery and some implements could do with replacing and the dishwasher needed a real lime scale treatment! Some decor felt a little dated. Access to kayaks was a real bonus and if the weather had been kinder to us our boys would have been out more and the access to a small

Public beach was a treat. It was perfectly situated to feel away from any crowds but close enough for access to all the local activities etc. A great retreat for a family or two families combined. The owners live next door and were super friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider returning in the warmer weather to use the pool and swim off the deck!

The views were beautiful, but there are 4 other buildings on top of the house. It was uncomfortable.

  • 2 of 5

It would have been nice if the listing were more forthcoming about how close the other structures are to the house listed. We pulled up to the rental and there was the main house where the owners live (where the pool is actually located), a dilapidated shed, and a small pool house practically on top of each other. At any given time, there were about 10 other cars in the driveway and people all over the place. We thought we would have some privacy, but there were always other people around. It was awkward and strange. Also, the driveway has large potholes and practically flooded out due to the rain we experienced. The property gets very muddy. The owner was kind and accommodating, but like I said, the whole layout of the property was off-putting. The house was pretty and clean, but we had to buy fly strips our second day there and, by the time we threw them out, we had killed close to 100 flies.

We had fun on the kayaks, but the weather during our stay kind of interfered with our other plans - clearly, no ones fault. We love the Chesapeake Bay, but will absolutely choose a different place to rent the next time we stay.

Owner's Response: We were dismayed to have received your feedback regarding our property. It is very important to us that our guests enjoy the time they spend here. In the 10 plus years we've been renting no one has mentioned the proximity of the other buildings, we will add a new picture to better illustrate their locations. Unfortunately the weather is out of our hands. We were aware of the driveway situation and had a contractor scheduled to make the repairs. Unfortunately May was an extremely rainy month and put them way behind schedule, hence the muddy potholes. The weekend you stayed with us our children were graduating from high school and college so there were extra cars and visitors. We are glad you felt the rental was clean and pretty.

The property and the view of the bay was amazing.

  • 5 of 5

The house was claen and well kept. The view from the all the porches was amazing and very conforting. The owners were alwlays there to help with whatever we needed. The pool was great and it was nice to have the canoes and kayaks for our use. The sunsuets were great. So Endless Sunsets is worth renting for a time of rest and reflection. . St'Michael's is a quaint little town to visit. .Also the best part for our group coming from Vienna, Va. It only takes 2 hours on a good day to get to Endless Sunsets. .

Spacious house for a get-together of 7. The view of the bay from multiple porches amazing! We enjoyed the pool surrounded by trees and gardens. Close proximity to the quaint town of St. Michael's was a plus. Would recommend for a group or family.

Family vacation at the Claiborne, MD house

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful family vacation on the bay in Claiborne, MD. The house was not only beautiful and clean, it supplied everything one could possibly want, such as a fully stocked kitchen, games and towels and linens as well.

The children so enjoyed the in ground pool and we all had fun using the kayaks. The sunsets and views of the bay were amazing, not to mention we were steps from our own little beach.

Lots of good restaurants and shops in St. Michael's provided our evening entertainment as well as the Maritime Museum and Lighthouse. We made lots of good family memories on this vacation!

Something for everyone; sunset for all.

  • 5 of 5

Each person in our group - from age 6 to 66 - found something special in the Claiborne house experience. And we shared an awe of the sunsets. Inside, the kitchen is extremely well stocked, beds and baths clean and comfortable. Outside, even a cloudy day was perfect for beach combing and bird watching (saw an eagle twice!). We'll just have to return when it is a bit warmer to be tempted into the boats...
