Why Kathy Nardiello chose Paris Arr. 3 (Marais, Picasso Museum)

Our apartment is ideally located in the heart of Le Marais, it is a 10 minute walk from the 'Hotel de Ville' metro station (line 1) and a 5 minute walk from the 'Rambuteau' metro station (line 11).

The Marais offers an abundance of important museums, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes in a true Parisian neighborhood setting. The Picasso Museum, The Pompidou Center, Place des Vosges, Carnavalet, Notre Dame and Hotel De Ville are only a short walk away!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved our little apartment as a base for our Paris travels. The owners have made a small space so incredibly useful and inviting and have thought of everything you could possibly need.

There were four of us, and our children loved the adventure of pulling their bed from the wall every night in the living area, while the parents escaped to the main bedroom.

The apartment was both light and cosy and stocked with books, movies and a fully working kitchenette and laundryspace. There was also two outdoor spaces for relaxing and dining.

Central to all things Paris, we set off every morning - just a short walk to the Metro, and past may local playgrounds, eateries and markets. We really did have the world at our feet.

Paris Marais

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful apartment -- nicely located with nice furnishings, bathroom and a terrace. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would most certainly recommend it to others.

Owner and local host were easy to contact and very cooperative.

In a word -- magnifique

Happy Canadian Tourists

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Terrasse Du Marais. The area is amazing and the apartment everything we expected. Such a treat to "live with the locals".

We took the Metro to the apartment and were met promptly. The location was ideal for sightseeing. We walked everywhere, and on the longer days took the Metro home. The apartment was quiet and very close to great cafes and restaurants. The owner covered all the details well and provided a great website and binder that made everything even easier. Our first VRBO experience was so positive I'm certain we will not stay in a hotel again. We would definitely stay here if we return to Paris. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Live The Marais

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted promptly by Antonio who was very thorough in showing us all we needed to know about the apartment. It is just two short blocks of the heart of the Marais which was nice and quiet. Plus, only one flight of stairs! Added bonus was the courtyard off the living room. Also, we were traveling with my sister so she needed the bedroom. We took the murphy bed which slept beautifully. I was quite surprised!

The apartment is a little gem and totally equipt with all one would need for a comfortable stay. This included free international calling to land lines! I've NEVER seen that in any other apartment I've rented.

We loved our stay at La Terrasse du Marais and look forward to staying there on our next visit.

With Thanks!

Our Romantic Paris Love Nest!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I could not have been more delighted with our stay at La Terrasse Du Marais. I would give it six stars, if I could. We came to spend a rare few days alone without our children or the obligations of real life. La Terrasse really delivered everything we had hoped, and then more. For us, it was even more romantic than a hotel stay to have our own pied a terre and pretend we lived in Paris, if only for five days.

The apartment itself is just lovely -- so airy and beautiful. The pictures were delightful, but I found that it was even better looking than I had expected. And we all know it's usually the other way around. Then the Marais neighborhood setting enhances the experience even more. The sound of an unseen neighbor's exquisite violin practice drifting in through the windows every afternoon (obviously a professional!) was like the soundtrack to our own Paris film. Clearly this movie is a love story!

Okay, back to the apartment. I loved the decor. Everything was so beautiful wherever I looked, that it enhanced the restful and luxurious feeling I experienced while we stayed there. The bathroom was particularly enchanting, with the beautiful stone materials used, and the indulgent, rainfall showerhead. And the stone sink was so cool looking!

We also really appreciated all the lovely amenities, like high quality toiletries in the shower, a washing machine AND the soap for it, a coffee maker and the coffee. We made the rounds of local shops and bought charcuterie, cheese, bread, etc. Then, as we curled up every evening for a little rest before heading out to dinner, we would nibble on our gorgeous groceries (lovely plates provided, of course), drink a little wine (nice wine glasses, bien sur), listen to the aforementioned violin, take advantage of the free wireless to send a quick note home ("Mommy and Daddy love you kids. Okay, bye!") and most of all, just SIGH about the deliciousness of it all.

We WILL be back, and next time we're bringing the kids. The Murphy bed will delight them!! Would we recommend it? Actually, we've already told so many people about this wonderful apartment!

Thanks for a time we will remember our whole lives!!

Okay, we did have ONE teensy quibble - you could get rid of some stuff. Because we used the kitchen a fair amount, we noticed there was a lot in it, such as several coffee makers, or more utensils than are really needed for such a small place. No biggie, but it got a bit cluttered.

Map

Delight in the medieval cobbled streets of The Marais, a fashionable neighborhood for centuries and bustling with the Parisian Joie De Vivre.

The most glamorous private mansions of the royalty and the aristocracy were constructed in the Marais for centuries.

This apartment is designed for you to enjoy Paris as a resident.

Le Marais is a small triangle of land of about 2 kms on each side going from Place de la République to Place de la Bastille and to Place de l’Hôtel de Ville. You’ll be able to explore 170 fabulous historical palaces and mansions, two islands on the River Seine, the exquisite Paris City Hall, Carnavalet Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral. It is an incredible concentration of art, beauty and architectural wonders.

There is simply no better neighborhood in all of Paris! It is charming, eclectic, vibrant, and historic. You will fall in love with it as you realize that you are now where everyone in Paris wishes they could be.
