Disappointing Unit
The location of the unit and unit layout itself are/were amazing.
Sink overflowed within 6 hours of first use. Leak under sink. Notified owner via text and repair person confirmed the garbage disposal was cracked, also confirmed this was not a new problem. We were unable to use the sink or dishwasher entire visit after having bought a ton of food to cook there. We had to constantly ask for updates on repair to plan for dinner (during a blizzard). Yes we know the blizzard isn’t the owners fault but knowing that the disposal was cracked and that the dishwasher overflows, would have been nice to have that taken care of so we weren’t driving to get food in blizzards. We had to be surrounded by a pile of dirty dishes and food smells from the sink and mess. Basically I was back at home. Fireplace did not work (previous guests confirmed this as well per the guest sign in book). There were no unit instructions so we weren’t able to use the ski lockers as advertised and payed to store at Canyon. The unit key was missing so had to use the chained up lockbox one. Shower curtain was moldy, not just a little bit either and the exposed nail strip for the carpet was super fun every time we went to the bathroom and stabbed the soles of our feet. I had to haggle with the owner about a partial refund and he reasoned that we shouldn’t get half because he would have to. eat the taxes and VRBO costs. He did refund us some but I asked for half initially and he didn’t say no so still waiting for some money to complete what any reasonable person would want back. We payed a lot to stay at a motel in a sense except for the dirty dishes and moldy curtain . He will say it was the holidays and a blizzard but these problems have been persistent in the unit (this was confirmed by numerous people that work in and around St.Anton).
