Beautiful gite in the tranquil French countryside

This beautiful gite, Paradis, is situated adjacent to the owners home and set in a large garden, amongst vineyards, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. It has it's own private terrace great for those romantic evenings with a glass of wine. The studio/1 bedroom is spacious with a fully outfitted kitchen and bathroom. It is the perfect retreat for a relaxing trip to the French countryside.

The 10m x 5m pool with its own large covered terrace is the perfect place to relax on the hot sunny summer days. The surrounding country roads are perfect for walks to enjoy the quiet evenings.

Le Jardin des Brandes is situated within easy reach of Bordeaux, Cognac & St Emilion, as well as several small French villages. Nearby are bathing lakes with beaches and water sports. The Atlantic coast is just an hour away for a beach getaway.

Très bon séjour!

Endroit calme au milieu de la verdure et des vignes. Le logement est cosy, les équipements bien entretenus (notamment la piscine, bien que la météo ne nous ait pas permis d'en profiter comme on le voulait). Merci pour l'accueil chaleureux de notre hôte.

calme et reposant

En dehors de la qualité de la literie très moyenne (vieux matelas à ressorts), la propreté du gite, la discrétion des propriétaires ainsi que leur serviabilite et le calme de l'environnement étaient parfaits. Autre bémol, le manque de séparation entre la terrasse de la 2eme location attenante et la piscine dite "commune" : en effet, leur terrasse donne directement sur la dite piscine de telle sorte que celle-ci parait davantage privative que commune et d'ailleurs nous n'avons pas pu en profiter comme on l'esperait puisque les autres locataires y avaient du reste elu domicile.

Wonderful stay Paradis le Jardin de Brandes

Our stay at this lovely little gite was perfect the owners were friendly and helpful. The gite is in an idyllic situation peaceful and quiet with a superb pool area. The air conditioning was a fantastic addition as we stayed during a time of unprecedented heat, but were able to enjoy cool nights sleep. We hope to return again at some point in the future.

Very relaxing stay

We were in the Dordogne for the first time to enjoy a short break and have a look around the area. Le Jardin des Brandes was a lovely place to stay. The gite was very lovely and just the right size for the two of us, and the air conditioner was a bonus at night as France was experiencing a heatwave. Helen and Ray were friendly, professional and very accommodating. We were late arriving for our check in and Helen was very understanding and even made a reservation for us to have a late dinner at a local restaurant. The bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived was a very nice touch as were the brochures for attractions and the folder they had put together with very useful information. We were lucky they had time to share a glass of wine with us on the terrace one evening and allowed us to pick their brains for information on settling in France. Sadly, I did not get to enjoy the pool since I had fractured my ankle and was in an orthopedic boot, but it looked wonderful. I highly recommend Le Jardin des Brandes to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing retreat and we definitely would stay there again.

Great place to chill in the sun.

We were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to have a break away from the rain and horrible weather in the uk. We checked this out and it seemed to tick all the boxes and an added bonus of a decent size pool. It’s certainly in the countryside as a good satnav might struggle to find it! Suggest you do the google earth or maps homework before you go. The guidance and directions provided by the owners will get you there. We arrived without much stress and was immediately impressed by the size of the parking area. The lawns were well groomed and the place itself was well decorated in stonework and wood. It’s a true converted barn with our room to the rear which was secluded and private. A wooden slat table and chairs with two sun loungers were by the front door and our very own bbq too. Inside was spotless and the proper lounge chair and sofa were first to catch the eye. A bottle of wine was waiting for us with two glasses- a nice reception committee after a long drive. The kitchen is modern with stainless steel appliances and tall fridge large enough to hold a weekly shop. Small freezer above was fine for ice cubes and bread. The bed was very comfy and the tv was linked to sky uk. All in all our four night stay was excellent and made even better by the hosts, Helen, Ray (Richard Branson) and their daughter Elise. They left us alone and when required they were there straight away. Very professional and obviously take their business seriously. We will not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone wanting peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Russ and Paula.

Wunderbarer Urlaub

Bei dem Ferienhaus handelt es sich um ein ruhig und abseits gelegenes Ferienhaus welches man sich mit den Vermietern und einer weiteren Ferienwohnung teilt. Helen, Ray und Elise (Vermieter) sind super herzlich und sehr um das Wohl Ihrer Gäste bemüht! Die Ferienwohnung hat uns alles geboten was wir uns gewünscht haben, besonders durch die hervorragende Aussattung. Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen und hätten noch viel länger bleiben können :)

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour Le gîte est calme très confortable rien ne manque. Nous avons apprécié le jardin très bien entretenu et la piscine, ainsi que l'accueil des propriétaires.

Neat, clean and lovely gite

We had an amazing time in this gite. It had everything we needed for our holiday, it was clean and definitely large enough for the two of us. The swimming pool is great as well, especially during the hot days. There are plenty of things to do, Bordeaux and St. Emilion are definitely worth a visit. The host of the gite are very friendly and even made us a dinner reservation! We would definitely recommend a stay at le jardin des brandes!

Logement reposant en pleine nature

Très bel endroit, situé au calme et au milieu des vignes, à 2 pas de Chalais et Saint-Emilion. Super pour des vacances reposantes et pour profiter de la belle piscine. Dans le logement, rien ne manque, si ce n'est un petit économe pour les légumes ;) Eric & Séverine
