Charming apartment, excellent location
Surprisingly spacious 1 bedroom apartment in 19th century building. Huge windows that look out over a busy street, but rarely too noisy. No a/c but the cross breeze created by windows on 3 sides of the apartment kept the apartment comfortable even on 3 consecutive days of 90 temps. As with any building that witnessed the original Bastille Day, it has its quirks. The most obvious are creaky floors. The building does have a small elevator with glass sides and doors. I’m easily entertained and enjoyed watching it zip up to our 3rd (USA 4th) floor landing from below. Wonderful hosts who resolved our only problem promptly. They met us at arrival and departure and couldn’t have been nicer. Also only a block to the Bastille Metro station! Nice neighborhood with lots of nearby restaurants, patisseries, and about 3 blocks to the Place du Vosages. Would definitely stay here again.
