I'm a native San Franciscan and lifelong resident of the area and I welcome our guests to enjoy themselves at our comfortable townhouse.
Barbara purchased this Townhome in 1972
Why Barbara chose Tiburon
The location is perfect, very near the Tiburon/Belvedere Library and a couple of blocks from downtown Tiburon. Since it's on a hillside on a quiet street it's close to everything and has nice views. I love the bay breezes, the views of the islands and I love how, at Christmastime, there's a fantastic night view of all the houses and their holiday lights.
What makes this Townhome unique
I've always kept it upgraded and well-maintained with antiques and high-quality furnishings. I put custom cabinetry in the kitchen and wood floors on the bottom level. Upstairs I have added luxury linens and a skylight in a previously dark bathroom. It's all charmingly decorated and designed to be very comfortable.

A Great Winter in a Great Place
I and my little Shih Tzu spent January and February in this townhouse and it could not have been more perfect for us. The place is so charming with its cozy atmosphere which I found very comfortable. I have stayed in other rentals during the winter in Tiburon, all of which have been nice, but this was much quieter and warmer and had all of the amenities one could want, including covered parking onsite. It is so convenient to Woodlands Market (a block), the library (on the next corner), the waterfront and ferry to SF, restaurants, shops and salons (just a few blocks). I walked everywhere. The owner and her assistant were unbelievably accommodating and friendly and I enjoyed getting to know them. Since I live in Maryland, am retired, want to spend time with my daughter and family who live nearby the townhouse and like to escape the cold and snow, I hope to stay there next winter!
Great experience! Clean, quiet, everything we needed...
We stayed here over the 2012 Thanksgiving holiday and into December -- me, my two sons (2 yrs and 1), my husband our nanny -- and we had a great time! With the 2 queen beds in the 2 rooms upstairs, and our two Joovy play pens for the boys to sleep (one in each room), we all fit just fine.
Everything was immaculate and you can see that the owner takes a lot of pride in the property. The place is really special; very charming and is full of everything you need to cook, do laundry, clean sheets and towels, etc. We were worried about the stairs but the owner had child safety gates that she lent us to use at the top and bottom of the stairs. She also had some other things for the kids which was a huge help to us and very thoughtful of her.
The location is tops. It was wonderful to be so close to Woodland Market (very upscale market) and downtown Tiburon with the fabulous restaurants, nightlife, the bay, boat to Angel Island, etc. and also to be only a short drive from San Francisco. Way better than staying Sausalito which is overrun with tourists, in Tiburon you really feel like a local. We were able to walk the short distance to the cute Tiburon library and check out books and cds/dvds for the kids and take them to Belvedere park to play.
This rental is ideal for couples or girls get-away weekend or families. Perfect place to hole up in all day, explore locally, or get out and see what Marin and San Francisco has to offer! We are looking forward to staying here again in May.
family with dog
We were very happy to spend the summer in Tiburon. It is a wonderful community, with lots to offer. We are a local family relocating and we thought we were in a wonderful and safe place... the day we were to move in, the other party was not out. When we arrived, it had been partially cleaned. There was dog urine throughout the apartment, including on the pillows. The sink in the bathroom was cracked in the bowl and leaked in to everything under the sink and we repaired it ourselves so as not to disturb the elderly owner. It seemed more like a storage unit for the owner, way too much stuff! The location is wonderful for walking to town and the marsh area. The apartment is very noisy due to the commercial units just below. They spend all weekend blowing the driveway!!!
I'm happy to have the chance to respond to this review, even though this tenant's complaints are news to me—I received only glowing reviews from her during her stay, including a card stating how happy she was and that the unit was "perfect."
First off, far from being an inactive "elderly" landlord, as implied, I pride myself on being very proactive when it comes to keeping my units clean and repaired. I have a team of cleaners and handymen and respond immediately to tenant requests; tenants often tell me how well kept-up the units are. This particular tenant specifically requested to move in before the scheduled date, as she had to vacate her previous residence right away. We discussed the fact that the sink needed repair, and it was her choice, not mine, to move in before it was repaired. As far as the unit not being clean upon move-in, this is simply not true: it is always thoroughly and professionally cleaned by a very reliable team between every use.
I am very reluctant to bring up the next fact, but in this case, it does shed light on the tone of this review: This tenant did not part on the best of terms due to major issues I had with the state in which she left the unit. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced as a landlord. I had agreed to allow one "well-behaved" dog; however, she housed 3 dogs and they were clearly not housebroken. Without going into too much detail, let's just say we needed to completely overhaul the apartment, including replacing the carpets; professionally cleaning the furniture and walls; and replacing a damaged screen door. Again, I only bring this up because this review is full of falsehoods that are clearly a retaliation for my keeping the tenant's deposit—which is also not typical for me (needless to say, it didn't begin to cover the damage).
I've had hundreds of short-term and long-term tenants in these units, and I've had overwhelmingly positive responses from them. I typically have very warm and cordial relationships with my tenants and have many loyal repeat tenants. I would have no problem if this tenant wrote an honest review about her stay, but that is not what this is. In this age of easy-to-publicize Yelp, Amazon, and VRBO reviews, there's little a businessperson or landlord can do to protect themselves from a bogus review except to offer an honest accounting of facts and hope that the reader takes said review with a grain of salt.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, Barbara.
