About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 7-9)

'Summer Specials' please email for details!

Our family cabin is affectionately known as 'Hemel Bos'. A crude Dutch translation for House in the Sky. 'Hemel Bos' is a three bedroom (1 queen in each of the two bedrooms and three twins in the third bedroom), 1.5 bath, fully remodeled kitchen and bathroom, with a vaulted ceiling living room including on oversized rock fireplace.

The cabin is located in the secluded/lush woods of Skyforest. Skyforest is roughly one mile from Lake Arrowhead Village. Skyforest is known for it's large lots and green forest. 'Hemel Bos' sits on an 1.5 acre lot with neighbors basically out of sight and sound. The cabin also has a large 900 square foot deck, which includes spectacular Mountain Views, unobstructed by neighbors. Our family and friends have many memories here and I guarantee your family will too.

Lots of character

  • 3 of 5

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house is older and has beautiful hardwood everywhere. Parts of the home have been nicely upgraded.

There were a couple of things to note: the upholstered furniture in the living room smelled really bad. I'm guessing someone had sprayed lots of Febreeze to cover up odors. The other thing is that there is a ton of fine chipped pain in the window sills. Since this is an older home, we wondered if it might be lead-based paint. When you arrive, you'll want to open up the house to air it out but the thought of those paint chips and dust making their way inside the house isn't great, especially if you have small children.

Two thumbs up!

  • 5 of 5

The owner was so nice and easy to work with! The location is secluded enough to see the stars and wilderness but close enough to take a short drive down to the lake city. I would definitely go back! The pictures do not do it justice. The interior decoratating is devine! The chandelier, the warm home-y vibe, the smell of the trees in the fresh air. Bathroom seemed as if it's been newly remodeled it had beautiful new tile in the shower. Highly recommend!

a true log Cabin feel

  • 4 of 5

Absolutely loved our stay at this cabin, the cabin and the kitchen were very clean and well equipped for our stay. Thank you so much John for your flexibility with our check in and check out timings. We loved our stay and enjoyed the coziness of cabin and woods around house. The only recommendation I would have is to change the flannel bedding to cotton for the summer months - all of us were too warm with the bedding which ofcourse would be much appreciated in the snowy winters but overwhelming for the summer months. everything else was perfect

Very good value and good location.

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here with 1 other friend. He took the upstairs room with a queen bed and I stayed in the bottom room with the same. Great area. No real neighbors and a huge deck with a bbq and a picnic table. The rooms were adequate size and the living room was nice and big. The location is good and it was a surprisingly short drive to Lake Arrowhead. Everything was within 30 minutes. Hiking, Lake Arrowhead, boating, etc.

The only real complaint was that the upstairs was much warmer than the first floor. My friend woke up and turned down the heater, which made the downstairs a little cold but not bad.

Lovely cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our two families loved our weekend here -- playing games, doing puzzles, grilling on the deck, and going for lazy walks. The kitchen and the house had everything we needed, and the hosts made the reservation process very easy. We made most of our own meals, but did try the pizza at LouEddie's one night - it was great, and made for a nice 10-minute walk. We would love to come back someday!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Scheduled a last minute trip with my husband, newborn baby and two dogs. We were pleasantly surprised by this quaint little cabin. The dogs loved the deck and exploring the area. Hope to go back again :)
