Shaker Bear guest house, nestled next to a private golf course, showcases charming post and beam construction. Situated in the heart of the Dartmouth Sunapee Lakes region, it provides easy access to Pleasant Lake, Lake Sunapee, and Little Lake Sunapee, offering abundant opportunities for swimming, hiking, and skiing. Proctor Academy, Colby Sawyer and Dartmouth College are only minutes away by car. The Country Club of NH (public course) is just 3 miles from our location. This course is ranked #2, as a classic course, in Golfweek’s annual list of public golf courses.

Inside the residence, you'll find two bedrooms – one featuring a queen bed and two twins, and the other with a king bed. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower/bath combo. The spacious family room is adorned with a gas fireplace, and the fully equipped kitchen ensures all your culinary needs are met. Stackable washer/dryer is available in downstairs bathroom. Keep cool on warm summer days with the provided air conditioning.

Take in the breathtaking views from the rear deck while lounging in Adirondack chairs shaded by a generous umbrella. For added relaxation, unwind in the screened porch, offering both captivating views and a comfortable retreat. The vacation home is conveniently located near private runway NH40-Eagles Nest airport. We spent two nights at this beautiful “carriage house” hard by the Lake Sunapee golf course. It was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and our hosts, Tom and Kem, did everything to make our visit carefree and enjoyable. We especially liked the screened in porch where we enjoyed a family supper as the light softened to the west. Beautiful. The place comfortably sleeps five in two bedrooms sharing a bath. The appliances were modern and well maintained. The great room is furnished, the leather recliner especially comfortable for reading or a nap. Colby the cat added to the ambience.

We had a great time staying here. The rental was BEAUTIFUL and very comfortable. I actually wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property more! Communication with the hosts was always prompt, kind, and clear, and all the directions for parking and opening doors etc. were very clear. Would definitely stay here again!

Home away from home

The property itself was beautiful! It had views of a beautiful garden and a golf course. The house was so bright and spacious and quite comfortable. The hosts were charming, friendly and so accommodating… they truly made our visit quite memorable. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit New London

Charming and Comfortable Home near New London

We had a lovely stay at this wonderful home! The house was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Tom and Kem were gracious hosts and had spiced nuts and sangria awaiting us upon our arrival. We’ve stayed at other local lodges and Tom and Ken’s tops them all! We look forward to visiting again!

Special cottage in New London!!

What a wonderful spot the Shaker Bear Cottage is!! We were in New London for a Colby Sawyer college reunion, and this was the most perfect place to stay. Our hosts Tom and Kem are wonderful, and their cottage is so lovely—-spotless, well appointed with anything we would need (kitchen, bathrooms) and was tradition New England decor. We loved our visit!!!

Another Wonderful Stay!

This is our second stay and it was even better than the last. We decided to stay longer this time because we enjoyed our first stay so much. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had a lovely pitcher of fruit tea and snacks awaiting us upon arrival! Kem and Tom are so friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next stay!

Best vacation ever!

Kem and Tom were amazing - right there to greet us and so helpful with anything we needed. Their place was beautiful- so well appointed - they left us treats, pulled out games for the kids snd told us about special events happening in town. They turned a short getaway into a real vacation. We were thrilled!
