Enchanting Private Property! Minutes from fine dining,award winning breweries!

Enjoy this open floor plan with accented wood fireplace, updated bathrooms, gas stove.
The back deck overlooks a fully fenced in large private yard, where you can enjoy plenty of southern exposure. During the winter months, the mountain sunset views are beautiful and can be enjoyed especially from the guest bedroom, back deck and front porch. In the summer, there is plenty of shade, and you'll find pots of freshly grown herbs and veggies for picking.

If you decide to relax at home, we offer Spectrum T.V. Netflix. Amazon music.

~Check out Haywood Road, only a 5.8 miles by car. West Asheville is known for its diverse and excellent food, music venues, vintage boutiques, and hopping breweries.
Downtown Asheville is 8.1 miles by car. Hemmingway's Cuba is our top pick! Not only is the food good, they have panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains off their rooftop bar.

Autumn is beautiful! It peaks in late September-October.
Christmas at Biltmore begins November 3rd. through January 7th.

Spring in the mountains, is my absolute favorite. Asheville has a variety of blooming trees. My property is very colorful as well. Bring your flonase!

It's preferred that you book 4-7 nights. If you would like to add more nights, please contact me first. There is also a two night option if you're looking for a quick get getaway.

Dottie's home was very clean, well decorated, and very charming. The house was stocked with everything we would need to cook (pots/pans/pancake pan/griddle/coffee maker, etc). She had smore's ingredients for the kids and complimentary firewood. For our toy Aussie, she had placed a food/water mat for him and also had some chew bones/toys for him to play with . Fridge was stocked with common condiments such as butter, syrup, ketchup, and mustard. She also had detergent/dryer sheets for the washer/dryer. Bonus: she had a purified water filter in the fridge and there was arlready a full bin of ice when we arrived to our home. Location was prime, so access to 40 was quick/easy. Close to DT Asheville. Loved. it and would definitely recommend!

Dottie's place was great! Not too far a drive to activities/town but just outside of town, making a nice retreat for peace and quiet. Great bird watching in the back yard, nice kitchen in which to meal prep and comfortable beds, just what we were looking for. Dottie was quick to respond via text, and we didn't have any issues. The gifted bottle of wine made our engagement weekend even more special and I enjoyed perusing the book collection. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at Dottie’s property. The house was very clean and cozy. Comfortable beds and a large fully fenced backyard for our pup. Dottie had wonderful communication and was very helpful in picking local hikes. We wish we could’ve stayed longer and will definitely look to stay with Dottie again next time we’re in town!

Restful retreat

We loved our stay in Candler. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. Dottie made sure we had a wonderful experience. The house is located on a quiet road with close access to highways. We were minutes from all of Asheville's main attractions. After sightseeing all day, we were delighted to return to this lovely home to relax.

Perfect, relaxing holiday weekend

We had a wonderful time in Candler! The house was beautiful and exceptionally clean. The backyard with the fire pit was perfect to sit around at night and enjoy late spring evening weather. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more - the ingredients for s’mores was a nice touch! We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the Asheville area.

A slice of serenity

We stayed the weekend to visit with friends we met there. The property is located just outside of Asheville, making it easy to partake in events and restaurants in town while being nestled away from the hustle and bustle. The owner was easy to communicate with and ensured we were welcomed guests. The house has everything you need and is decorated with perfect touches to make you feel relaxed and on vacation. The backyard and overlooking deck were perfect for morning coffee and bird watching. It felt like a slice of serenity.

A great house

We had an amazing stay. This house was perfect for us with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and it was one of the cleanest houses I’ve stayed in. Dottie had everything you would need and it was very thought out with lamps in the right places, lots of towels and hooks in the bathroom. Highly recommend!

Our Perfect Place

This is our second year staying here. I can’t say enough about how terrific it is. So rarely nowadays are all our needs met but they are met here. I’m immunocomprimised so a single family dwelling is something I must have. The street is peaceful and the location is very convenient and feels safe. We order our groceries online from Ingels and they bring them outside. We frequently order carry out from a bbq restaurant Doc Brown’s just 5 minutes away and it’s delicious.(order on the early side since the food is so good they run out) Everything is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Downtown Asheville is approximately 8 miles away. Entrances to Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Village, NC Arboretum are not far.Truly it’s convenient without crowds. The owner stocks the home with everything needed. There is also a washer and dryer! For the first time in years I can relax in comfort and safety. God willing this will be our yearly retreat. Thank you

Sisters Getaway

Dottie’s home exceeded expectations! She thought of everything to make it comfortable for our visit! Furnished with everything plus more than we needed for our 3 nights! She left notes to explain everything, toys for the dog, lots of towels, cold water in the fridge and a bottle of wine with a thank you note when we arrived! Just perfect! Beautiful property!

Perfect spot in quiet neighborhood, close to Asheville

Just the right spot! Quiet neighborhood with easy access to all things Asheville - the Biltmore, downtown, Arts District, good eats, and shops. Accommodating host that made us feel right at home. Comfortable and welcoming home with all the amenities. Lovely place in a beautiful town.

Couldn’t be better

Due to the pandemic and my having a condition which categorizes me as immunocompromised ( due to medication) my husband was VERY careful with choosing a place and location. This was the first time I left the area here in 4 years, and we always traveled. I can’t begin to thank the owner for the cleanliness of the house, it being well stocked, the upkeep of the yard, the privacy, the wonderfully functioning air conditioning/ heat ( which we used both of), the washer/dryer and dishwasher ( both easy to use and did a great job). The home provided easy access to Arboretum, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Village etc. The area is great because it’s quiet and not congested. I could go on and on but for someone who has had to give up a lot I lost out on nothing with this rental. We will definitely plan on staying here again! Sincerely, Debbie

Excellent Stay

Very clean, cozy property convenient to all of Asheville’s attractions. This was a perfect stay for our 4 day trip. Host is very responsive and helpful.. Property matches the descriptions and photos. Would recommend for adults looking for a quiet location with comfortable beds close to everything.

Cozy Asheville Retreat

Great mother/daughter trip

This was the perfect place to stay, we hiked, shopped, did breweries, Biltmore and more! Dottie's place was within 10-15 min. of all- the farthest was for hiking! It is super clean, very well appointed with everything you could need for cooking if you wanted to. Very relaxing and spa like. Dottie was very communicative and responded to any questions we had and even offered to ship our charger that we accidentally left!

A truly lovely home

Walking into Dottie’s place was like arriving at a family member’s home—instant comfort, warmth, and calm. We were visited by the beautiful hummingbirds that made relaxing on the porch to drink coffee in the morning, and wine in the evening, just spectacular. Small touches like handwritten notes, toiletries (which came in handy), a regional map with personal recommendations, and a welcome gift were evidence of attention from a host who goes the extra step to ensure the comfort of her guests. Everything from the layout of the home to the proximity to downtown Asheville to the buttery-soft sheets and beds made Dottie’s rental the perfect stay. We are already talking about a return trip back. Thank you so much, Dottie!

Lovely property

Moving from south Florida to Asheville was an easy decision, especially growing up near the Adirondack Mountains, I immediately felt at home. Although, the winters are pretty mild here compared to Central NY. The rest of the year, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy.
If you like to kayak and have some experience, I highly recommend taking my two person inflatable kayak to some of the surrounding area lakes. Bear Lake, Wolf Lake, Lake Keowee, Lake Lure to name a few. Message me if you're interested in using the kayak.
Hiking trails are numorous. My favorite spots to hike are Graveyard Fields, Glen Falls, and Dupont Park. My absolute favorite water falls is Dry Falls.
During the growing season, I grow my own herbs, so please help yourself.
If it rains, and you just want to stay home and sip wine, both decks are partially covered.

I chose this neighborhood because it's private. Although we have neighbors, the properties are spaced apart. Some have half an acre, and others a full acre of land.

The unique benefits to this home is the proximity to both West Asheville and downtown Asheville. If you need to Uber, you're not too far from home, but you are still able to enjoy your privacy.
