Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

We built this beautiful modern cabin in 2004 with all the character and furnishings you'd expect in an idyllic Rocky Mountain home. Incredible mountain views surround you, yet you can walk to the coffee shop, restaurants, and the recreation path takes you to Breckenridge, Copper or around Lake Dillon. The major ski areas are just minutes away (Copper: 8 miles, Breckenridge: 10 miles, Keystone: 12 miles, Vail: 25 miles, Beaver Creek: 35 Miles, Winter Park: 60 miles, Steamboat: 90 Miles).

Our home is about 2000sf with off-street parking for 4+ cars. The main level has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with two full size beds). The upper level has the master suite (queen bed) in addition to the large loft area (convertible futon) which is open to the living room below. A washer and dryer as well as a boot/gear drying room make extended stays convenient, and there is an on-site caretaker should an emergency arise.

Summit County has a free shuttle system which can take you almost anywhere with your bikes and skis. The shuttle stop is four blocks away and can get you to the base of Copper Mountain in as little as 10 minutes or Breckenridge in 15. If you need to rent skis or bikes there are numerous shops in town that will be happy to accommodate you. Most of your shopping needs can be taken care of right in Frisco as well; from family run shops, galleries and restaurants to Whole Foods, Starbucks, fast food, Safeway and Walmart.

We are a registered lodging business with the Town of Frisco.

About Dean

Thanks for thinking about renting our vacation home. We have traveled all over the world but are still amazed at the beauty of Summit County. The skiing is phenomenal, especially having so many major ski resorts in the area. The morning routine is to check the snow report and chase the powder! In the summer the cycling and hiking trails are fantastic and just steps away from the house. Plus, there are more arts and music festivals going on than you will know what to do with...and most of them are free!

Dean purchased this house in 2004

Why Dean chose Northwest

Frisco is one of the best places you can stay in Summit County. It has easy access to all the major ski resorts yet retains a great small town charm with good dining options and lots of activities. I lived in the area full time for six years and loved all the summer and winter recreation opportunities now I take advantage of these activities when I come up from Denver.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I'm sorry that the cleaning was not up to par...we used a new commercial cleaning service. Feel free to reach out to me directly with any specifics so I can relay the issues to them (and decide whether or not to use them again). Regards, Dean

Comfy and so close to everything. That's why we like that older part of Frisco!

  • 5 of 5

We especially enjoyed the porch. Loved sitting out in the evening and watching the changing weather. Very comfortable home. Well stocked. Liked having a washer and dryer so accessible.

Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very nice and had great décor for its location. The location of the cabin was very near both town and mountain trails which was convenient, the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. We had 6 adults and two small children and there was plenty of space for all. The internet was also very good given several of us had to work during our stay. Given we had small children on the trip we had a few small issues during our stay. There is a common space for laundry on the basement level where there is permanent tenant (very nice lady), the door leading to this area did not latch or lock so had to make sure the kids did not get on the stairs. There is also no air conditioning (no big deal in the mountains) which required us to open the windows; the cabin is next to a multiply family complex so there is some noise in the evening that can keep the kids up. We also enjoy grilling a lot and the gas grill ran out of gas after two uses.

Beautiful and very clean vacation home

  • 4 of 5

From the moment we arrived till the time we left, we had a great time. Our location was near everything. Restaurants, Marina, bike rentals, BBQ Challenge fest and shopping! The rental was beautiful and very clean. The only thing I would change would be the bed. Otherwise, we were very comfortable and happy. Being from Chicago, the altitude took some getting used to. However, we will definitely love to return next year! Wonderful mountain views and friendly people. Thank you for a great stay!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay at our home and were able to take advantage of all the great activities in the area. It's challenging to find a bed that makes everyone happy...the master bedroom has a Room and Board mattress we purchased last fall. Perhaps a Sleep Number would have been the way to go with everyone's different preferences. Hope to host you again!
