Not only one of the largest 2 bedroom units in Fallridge but now one of the nicest as well! Our unit is a large (1231 sq. ft.), sunny, quiet (mountain-side), two bedroom, two-bath condo with a wood burning fireplace in the living room and a sizable west facing balcony. The Fallridge at Vail Condominium complex is on the free Town of Vail bus route, 4 minutes to Gold Peak, and 1.8 miles from the center of Vail Village. The building complex has underground parking, elevators, an indoor hot tub, and coin operated laundry facilities just down the hall. The outdoor pool is open in the summer months. Because we consider this our mountain home, it is strictly non-smoking (tobacco, marijuana and vaping) and pets are not allowed.

Our living room is very comfortable with a new American Leather Comfort queen plus sized sofa-sleeper, chair and ottoman, and two recliners positioned in front of the 40” HD TV, Blu-ray Disc player, and a Sony personal audio docking system. There is also a daybed/trundle bed in the living room area which sleeps two. The dining room table easily accommodates 6 people.

The master bedroom has a king sized bed and a 32 inch HD TV. Both the master bedroom and bath were remodeled in the fall of 2012 and the bathroom features a granite countertop, fully tiled shower, and heated tile floors.

The second bedroom has two queen sized beds and a 32 inch HD TV; the bath has a granite countertop and beautifully tiled shower. All of the mattresses are very comfortable with quality linens ensuring a good night’s sleep. The bath and spa towels are also new and quite luxurious.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the utensils you will need to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner. New stainless steel appliances and Silestone quartz counter tops were installed April 2013 and include an undercounter wine refrigerator and a super quiet Bosch dishwasher. There is also ample cabinet space for storing your groceries.

We have a large balcony with a full-size gas BBQ grill, a table with four chairs, and two lounge chairs. This is a great place to relax in the warm sun after a day of skiing or golf. In winter, when the trees are bare, you can glimpse Vail’s black diamond run, Lindsey's.

Vail, in the winter, is known for its world class skiing, legendary back bowls, and proximity to Beaver Creek with its famous Birds of Prey downhill course. Vail’s Nordic Center, located only 75 yards away, has 17 km of groomed ski tracks and 10 km of separate snowshoe trails. The new clubhouse, completed in November 2016, offers lunch and dinner in their restaurant, Gore Range Grill.

Vail summers, however, are equally spectacular. The Vail Golf Course is recognized by Golf Digest as a ‘top 100 resort course.’ There are numerous hiking and biking trails, and the white water rafting is not to be missed. The Betty Ford Alpine Garden is the world’s highest botanical garden displaying the most beautiful and unique high elevation plants. September and early October is Vail's best kept secret; the weather is warm, the skies are sunny, the valley is quiet (except for the weekends), and most of the restaurants offer a 50% discount on their dinners. Weekends provide fun-filled activities such as Oktoberfest and the annual rubber duckie race down Gore Creek.

About Hedy Holmberg

We live in Minnesota and enjoy the many lakes and outdoor activities, and although we have many ski areas near us they lack the vertical that the mountains provide. My husband and I began skiing as adults and after taking my first lesson at Buck Hill we traveled to Vail, CO. We have both logged in many miles over the years and agree with a friend of ours who said, “skiing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on!” I am also a certified ski instructor and teach at a women’s traveling ski school in MN. I love it when women become passionate about the sport and then choose a ski vacation in the mountains for themselves and/or families. We have two sons who grew up ski racing and raced for their college teams.

Why Hedy Holmberg chose Vail

Location, Location, Location! We walk 100 yards to the free Town of Vail bus shelter, board the bus, and 4 minutes later we are at the lifts at Golden Peak; unlike East Vail properties where the bus drops you off at the Vail Transportation Center and you have to walk through the village to the lifts. We like to be on the chair lift when it opens, so we get on the 8:20 a.m. bus and are in the lift line by 8:30 a.m. The size of our unit is what really sold us; large, sunny, and comfortable. The underground parking is essential in winter - no cleaning off snow or scraping windows; just get in your car and go.

What makes this condo unique

We love the views and the large balcony. The underground parking is essential in winter; the hot tub and laundry are just down the hall. There is an on-site property manager who lives in the building and a front desk that is staffed during the day. We can drive to Vail Village in 2-3 minutes or take the free Town of Vail Bus. The bus stop is located only steps away and is a convenient way to get to Golden Peak, Vail Village, or Lionshead. When we ski we put on our ski attire in the condo, walk to the bus stop, and take the bus to Golden Peak early in the morning so that we are on the mountain when the lifts open. The chalet at Golden Peak is beautiful and rental lockers are available if needed. You can then access Vail mountain from Chair 6 or take Chair 12 to the Gondola One which then takes you to mid-Vail. The Children’s Center and Ski School is also conveniently located at Golden Peak; this is where the USSA races are held for skiing and snowboarding and the Burton US Open in February/March.

Extremely comfortable,well appointed condo in a great location

This condo met our requirements perfectly for a family ski vacation. Hedy has furnished the condo with premium products and this gives it the feel of a top line hotel, and it was super clean. The condo was perfect for cooking in, we were there for 11 nights and didn't feel the need to go out every night. The grill on the deck was a great feature in this respect. We were able to relax after skiing in the spa prior to wine o'clock, a great end to the daytime activities.

Location was perfect for getting to the slopes in the morning and the restaurants in Vail village in the evenings, La Botega, Lancelot, Sweet Basil, Campo de Fiori to name a few. The bus never missed a beat, always on time and only a few minutes ride, and very close to Fallridge lobby.

Hedy was great to deal with prior to and during our trip. All questions we had were answered both helpfully and promptly, and my deposit was returned within a day or two of arriving back in the UK - thanks Hedy!

We have had many trips to Vail and have rented in various locations, e.g. Rockledge Road, Beaver Dam, etc, and I would say Hedy's condo in Fallridge offers the best compromise considering size, quality, amenity of accommodation, in a very easy and convenient location. I wouldn't think twice about renting again on our next trip. A well deserved 5 stars.

Great Condo!

We found our stay in this lovely condo to be very comfortable. The unit was well stocked from the kitchen, to the bathrooms, not to mention that the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the spacious deck and used the wonderful Weber grill that was provided. We loved the quiet location of the condo but yet close enough to Vail Village. We would definitely rent again from Hedy and Mark. They were wonderful and answered all my questions within 24 hours.

Another Great Stay

We just completed our second stay at Hedy's condo, and we really enjoy staying here. Our previous trip was in the summer, and this was our first winter stay at the condo. This is a comfortable, well-maintained, and well-stocked condo (in terms of toiletries, kitchen stuff, towels, etc.). The beds are comfortable, and we loved relaxing in the two reclining chairs in the living room after a full day of skiing. The condo is in a quiet and pretty area of Vail, near the golf course and about 1.5 miles from the village. Hedy is a responsive and conscientious owner, and we feel very comfortable renting from her. For more information, please see my review below titled "Very Comfortable and Quiet Condo."

Great Spot

My wife and one of our daughters rented the condo during the last few days of 2016 and early 2017. We had a great time. The condo is incredibly comfortable, and I in particular like the walk-in shower. The condo is very close to Vail and is just a 3 minute walk to the bus stop for a short ride to a lift or Vail Village. I also thought the rate we were charged over the holiday weekend was a very good value. Normally I expect to pay-up when we ski around year-end each year; not this year. JKD

Very Comfortable and Quiet Condo

This is a very comfortable, well-maintained, and quiet condo. My husband, 5 year old son, and I had a nice stay here. We plan to rent it again.

The condo is on the backside of the building, which we liked. It has a lot of privacy, with pretty views of the trees. The beds are comfortable, and the condo is well furnished. Also, the owners pay attention to the little things that make a place comfortable and convenient (e.g., nice towels, nice toiletries, well-stocked kitchen, and other amenities).

The condo is about 1.5 miles from Vail village and the ski slopes, and it is near the Vail golf course. The location is a pretty and quiet area of Vail. In the summer, it is a nice bike ride or walk to the village. In the winter, a bus runs every thirty minutes to the ski slopes (in the morning and in the late afternoon). Nevertheless, I recommend having a car, especially if you want to go grocery shopping or out to eat after dark. The unit has a convenient parking space in the owner's garage.

Hedy (the owner) is very nice and responsible, and she promptly answers email questions. We recommend this condo, and we will be back! :-)

Summer at Fallridge

This condo is a home away from home, in terms of the furnishings, and kitchen appliances, china and cookware, even a small wine cooler.

Beds are comfortable and there were extra blankets for the cool nights, and abundant hot water. The building makes life easier, too: luggage carts available in the garage, ice, a washer dryer a few doors from the apartment, and an office that provides some basic services like coin change, maps, and information.

You do need a car, though, if you plan to go to Vail or surrounding areas. In summer the bus, outside the building, runs only every 2 hours. There are some pretty walks nearby and a golf course across the road. Also, the wi-fi worked well.

If there was one downside to the location, for us, it was not being able to walk outside our home and find ourselves a cup of coffee in 5 minutes.

Hedy is a pleasure to deal with, responsive, quick and helpful, available by phone or email when you need her (I have rented some places where the owners is MIA until after my rental ended.)
