We actually bought this property when it was a concept back in 2007. The reality has exceeded our expectations. I am born in Vancouver and spent many childhood vacations camping and fishing in the playground that is Vancouver Island. We chose Tofino because we could live without a car (breath of fresh air for city folk) yet we still had the urban comfort experience that we have come to appreciate.
Maddy Kelly purchased this condo in 2009
This property from an architectural/interior design perspective represents a combined love of the urban and of nature. We enjoy the setting, at the end of the road, at the tip of the island; there is a sense of 'arriving' at last.
We breathe here. The air is good. The food is excellent. The people are happy. We kayak, we climb, we surf, we eat, we hang, we read, and we walk...through the forest, down the beach, up the road.
My husband and I stayed in Maddy's condo in October for our honeymoon. We stayed for 4 nights in this spacious and luxurious condo. The kitchen is well-stocked with supplies to cook meals. The condo was clean and organized. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The view of the ocean is absolutely breath-taking! We would love to return and stay in the condo again in the future.
Prior to my stay, I asked the owner to confirm that the condo had wifi. I told her it was important, as I had work to do while in Tofino. She assured me that wifi was included.
Well there was no wifi, as service was disconnected because the owner had not paid her utility bill. I finally got in touch with the owner and was told that she was on vacation, and was unable to make payment arrangements until she got home...
...it didn’t seem to matter that much of my vacation was spent at a local coffee shop where they had wifi.
There are many beautiful condos in Tofino being rented by people who take the rental business seriously, why take the chance?
We (myself, my husband and our 10-month old son) had a wonderful time staying in Maddy's condo! As seen in the photos, the condo is beautiful and the space is amazing. It worked out perfectly with the downstairs room for Max (it's a very small bedroom with no windows, and we used the pack 'n' play for him to sleep in that is with the unit) and upstairs for us. We loved the view out the full windows. There were no issues with noise. The rain suits (Helly Hansen) are fantastic. I believe they are Women's Medium and Men's Large, with Women's Size 8 Boots and Men's Size 10/11 Boots. We used them to go out to Chesterman Beach (we had brought our own for our son, although Maddy does have rain coats for smaller children) on a very rainy day, and it was super fun. The kitchen space was great - we loved the Nespresso as it was a true comfort of home - but we didn't end up doing any cooking since the restaurants were so great. We loved dining at The Schooner, Sobo (the owner/chef even took our son with her for awhile to play outside and see the kitchen while we were finishing our meals!) and The Sea Shanty. All extremely kid-friendly and were willing to cook up fresh salmon meals for our son. We walked a lot for coffee (Rhino was a favorite) and did a lot of hikes, with our favorite being Schooner Cove. Overall, the condo was perfect. We have already recommended it to a handful of friends and would definitely look to rent it again the next time we come to town.
Executive 5 Star Condo offers all of the amenities of home, including seagulls, no wait there aren't any seagulls at home, views of the ocean, nope not that at home either, and friendly locals, well....sometimes they are....All jokes aside the loft condo took our breath away from the moment we opened the front door! Everything we needed to make our breakfast, coffee, and a couple of dinners was there, the double bed upstairs was a tad smaller than our K.S. at home, but very comfy. We would love to stay again, with maybe a futon in the t.v. room , my snoring wouldn't bother my poor G.F. as much, ALL IN ALL SPECTACULAR, LOVED IT.... MADDY AND TOFINO. YOU ROCK!
Our jaws dropped when we walked in. It is a spectacular condo, well located in lovely, fun Tofino. I'll start by saying that I wanted to extend my stay so that I could just sit on the patio deck and watch all the activity of the fog moving in or lifting, the seaplanes and boats coming and going... The view from the upstairs loft bedroom is so fabulous to wake up to. We didn't use it but there is a big BBQ on the deck and pleany of seating for a larger group. We walked everywhere in town. The condo is close to many fine restaurants ( and Tofino has lots). There is an underground car park so that moving our luggage was no problem. There were 2 bathrooms, which was great for us-- 2 women traveling. I slept on the couch in the living room and my friend got the loft bedroom. No complaints about the couch! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! We enjoyed the bear-watching boat excursion, a walk in the nearby Rainforest, watching the surfers at a nearby beach at high tide and fine dining at Spotted Bear, Schooner's and the Wolf in the Fog. We lunched a couple times at Shelter and enjoyed Happy there. Skip the Wick.
