Lakeside House

Convenient location. Close to lakes, dunes, hiking. As well as 15 minutes to towns south and north. Great McKay’s Market a few blocks away. Kid friendly house with lots of room and great parking.

Great accommodation

This house was great for our family of 10. Plenty of space for everyone. The house was very nice. The air hockey table was a hit. Had a nice big table for everyone to gather around for meals. I do wish the jetted master would have worked. I was looking fwd to it but was never able to get it to work.

Mist on the Ring of Fire, but scored on the home!

This property is well-maintained and clean. We came in for the Ring of Fire, but as we expected due to weather, we were unable to view the angularity. The house was great. Our friends were able to bring their dog. We walked to the local establishments. It looks like summer would be even better to be in town. We had a great time. Loved the shower and beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked (maybe add a few more wine glasses!). We did have a bit of trouble with getting the heaters going when we first arrived. We had several changes throughout our trip (one couple and their pets couldn't come, wanted a late checkout for the Lions football game, when ended up being later in the day so we didn't need a late checkout!). Vacasa worked with all of our changes without issue. I would recommend Vacasa, as we also had them at a place in Olalla, Washington with great results as well.

Poor host support

The house was great, and super clean. I would have given it 5 stars except for the poor host support when we had a problem. We booked the house for 4 nights. On the second night, around 9:00 PM, the AC unit in one of the bedrooms began making a strange noise. The noise continued even after we turned off the unit and persisted for 20-30 minutes after shut off. I have such heat pump units in my home, and I could not account for the noise. And it was too loud to allow for sleep. I called the Vacasa support line around 9:30 PM. The support person marked the problem as urgent and promised to call me back with an update as he tried to arrange service. That was the last I heard from Vacasa support. I didn’t expect service that night, but I did expect an update by phone and a service call the next day, which was a Friday. But nothing. I’ve still heard nothing. The noise started each time the unit was turned on, and persisted for a time after the unit was turned off. So, no AC in that room for 3 nights, in July.
