The 1830 Guest House

Relax in this elegant and spacious 1830 home located near downtown Bangor within 3/4 mi from waterfront concerts. Tall ceilings and hard wood floors. Modern conveniences yet retains the charm of a historic home.
Please read entire ad before requesting a booking.
The space
The first floor rents for $250/night -sleeps 4 people with queen sized bed in master bedroom and queen sized sofa sleeper in living room. Renters have full exclusive access to first floor: MB, LV, Kit & DR. Additional rooms are available upstairs for $50/night per room. The additional three bedrooms include two queen sized beds and the third room has a full and a twin sized bed. Total cost of all available rooms $400. The owners live on secured portion of second floor that renters will not have access to. You may hear/see owners in passing in the hall way on the second floor but you will not share any rooms or bathrooms. Outdoor deck is not available to renters.
Guest access
2 parking spaces in back of the home as well as no fee street parking.

Key pad entrance is at the back door of the home.
Other things to note

A truly wonderful place with an exceptional host. The house is a gem - beautifully furnished, spacious, and totally comfortable. Joni left cookie dough for us plus a bottle of wine. The 1830 Guesthouse is near the heart of Bangor in a pleasant neighborhood. We’re so glad to have found it.

We were in town for a concert with friends and this place was perfect! The house is beautifully done and had everything we needed. It was spacious, comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. We liked how close and convenient it was to shops and the venue. Joni is the perfect host and checked in with us when we arrived and before we left. So thoughtful of her to leave cookie dough to make cookies and also a nice bottle of wine! Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Cozy Stay

This house is so cool being that it is from the 1800s. The house itself was nice and clean when we arrived and was a wonderful place to stay before my friends and I set off to see the total solar eclipse!!

Home Away From Home

Super quick stay. Very spacious and clean the mix of an old house with modern design touches made us feel like we’re on a movie set. Joni was a pleasure, kudos to her for a great stay!

Excellent accommodation and the host Joni Winkler couldnt have been nicer. Highly recommended!

Host gave us gifts of freshly baked cookies and a bottle of red wine to welcome us. Enough said.

Warm welcome on a cold weekend

My family had an important event in downtown Bangor, and we booked this house so that we could all stay together close to the event. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen beautifully appointed, and the host was very responsive.There were fresh-baked cookies, sparkling water, and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we got there. If we are in the area again, I would totally book here again.

Charming House

Just what we needed!

We arrived to a tray of cookies from the owner as well as a lovely note and drinks in the fridge! The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us. The location was perfect as we were walking to a concert at the waterfront. I would definitely recommend staying here and I would certainly stay again!!

A cozy historic home

We were in search of an extra night's accommodation for my sister's bachelorette trip when we stumbled upon this charming place. Spending a night in such a historic home was truly delightful, even if it was just for one night. Joni's communication through the app was great, and we encountered no issues whatsoever!

Beautiful Home

This house is amazingly beautiful. I wish we had planned to spend more time just being together at the house instead of being out and about seeing everything Maine has to offer. Joni is a wonderful host and quickly answered any questions I had. She left sparkling water and wine for us to enjoy and had a book full of previous guests recommendations for the area.

Great place. Just down the street from Stephen King’s house. Older house and wonderful. The stairs and floors creaked but that added to the charm. Well equipped kitchen, beds comfortable. All the amenities provided. Great location and communication with host was excellent. We would definitely stay again!!!

What a fantastic stay, the house was spotless and had every amenity you could possibly ask for. The location is awesome too, with a restaurant only a block away and in easy walking distance of downtown Bangor. Our host was really great and very responsive with any questions we had. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Bangor.

One of the nicest short term rentals we have stayed in. Perfect location close to everything but yet quiet. Very charming historic home with lovely, homey details. Super comfortable memory foam mattress. Amazing well appointed gourmet kitchen. Everything one would need for a relaxed but luxurious stay in Bangor. Highly recommend and would defintely stay again.

Great Experience!

I stayed here with all my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and got ready here the next morning. It was so clean, welcoming, and very spacious. Joni was so great and easy to communicate with, and even left us homemade cookies and a heartfelt, handwritten note! It’s a beautiful home, I would highly recommend!

Beautiful and comfortable home!

We stared at the 1820 house while in Bangor for a wedding. We were three couples staying together. Our hostess could not have been kinder, more accommodating or more thoughtful. The house is absolutely charming! The owner has done a spectacular job of preserving and showcasing the antique/historical details of the house, all while providing modern comfort and a relaxing space to stay. Beds were extremely comfortable!

Convenient Location!
