Why The Owner chose Kapolei

I purchased in Kolina Beach Villa because I love the location and luxury accomodations it offers. It is isolated enough from the hustle and bustle of the city, and yet if I want to get something from the city. It is right there. I love being in a resort settings with the Golf Course and Oceanview. I love the fact that if I want an urban feel I can drive 20 minutes and Hononlulu is right there. I can get the best of both worlds without sacrificing anything.

What makes this condo unique

One of the uniqueness of this Villa is its interior design, I purposely designed the Villa to reflect an urban feel. I realize that some may enjoy the island setting interior; however, I wanted to provide to our guests the best of both worlds. You can have the urban life indoors, but just walk outside and you will be surrounded by the island life. Please enjoy my villa as much I enjoy and envision it to be!

Great property, lousy unit, shabby worn furnishings, not clean

  • 2 of 5

The Beach Villas condo complex is a great property however, this unit is not well kept. It was not well cleaned when we arrived, there were dirty dishes left in dishwasher and freezer, and dirty wet towels left in washing machine which was broken so the towels were mildewed. There were only two clean towels in the entire unit. The patio furniture is old, torn and uncomfortable. There are beds for 4 people and air beds for 2 more, however, there is no bedding for the air beds. The blender is broken but all the other appliances worked. The dishes and silverware were cheap, and there are only enough for about 4 people. There were only two cups and 5 wine glasses. We had to buy paper and plastic goods to get through the week. There were more burned out lightbulbs than working ones. We had to shower in the dark and move working bulbs to where we needed lamps in bedrooms. This unit needs maintenance. It is cheaper than others, but you will end up paying the difference in buying towels, paper & plastic goods, and other items to make yourself comfortable. If you are a clean freak, you will be very unhappy here, it just feels unclean. The Beach Villas complex is a beautiful property, this was our 2nd stay, but next time we'll pay a little more for a better unit.

Beautiful condo

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from staying at this property for seven nights and recommend it highly to all visitors to the island. Everything was perfect--my family loved the two bedroom condo, the views of the beaches, the proximity to amazing lobster and fresh seafood restaurants, and the fully stocked kitchen which made it easy for us to prepare home cooked meals when we were enjoying poolside drinks. The bedrooms were clean and beds very comfortable. I got better sleep here than in my own home! Stephen helped recommend local excursions and restaurants to us and really helped facilitate the entire process with ease. He gave us his personal cell phone in case we needed it and even responded to our need for help when we locked ourselves out. The onsite gym and sauna are perfect if you want to get a little indoor workout in but you will probably be spending much more time on the beach! The pictures are spot on and we were very happy with our decision to stay here!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a week with my wife. The condo is an amazing location with beautiful white beaches and secluded for the perfect romantic getaway. You can walk to restaurants, bars, another local resort, but we found we never had to leave the property as we found relaxing in the condo, on the attached beach, and by the pool to be the perfect getaway from our busy jobs. The condo is large and can easily sleep 8 and was very clean. The manager we dealt with facilitated our reservation quickly and was able to help negotiate arrival and departure dates to accommodate our work schedules. Wifi was great and we always had wonderful reception if need be.

Extremely disappointed

  • 1 of 5

We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. I wanted to stay on the west side of the island and the only reasonably priced condo was this one at KoOlina Beach Villas. We were VERY disappointed with this condo. Realizing there are cockroaches in Hawaii, we did not expect to see as many as we did and it got worse when the lights went out. My son had to sleep on the blow up mattress on the floor and I was so afraid cockroaches were going to crawl in his ears, I barely slept at night. Also, the bedrooms floors and sheets were filthy. I attempted to clean the master bedroom sheets and found the mattress cover so stained (appears to be blood stained) it was disgusting. Not sure when the last time the carpets were vacuumed but they are littered with dust and debris. It is especially dirty underneath the beds.

I sent the owner a message on the 2nd day we were there advising him of all the issues, I asked him to contact someone to come out and fix the dryer. I wanted to wash all the dirty sheets and towels, the dryer was not repaired while we were there.

The only rest and relaxation I found was on the beach away from this condo.

Well priced rental

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for 10 nights following a few nights in Vegas and chose this resort as we wanted a bit of peace and relaxation. We were overjoyed with the resort- upmarket, clean and quiet. The condo itself was clean and generally well appointed. The restaurants in the locality are ok but not great for vegetarians, so we intended to cook some nights. The kitchen equipment needs upgrading. There is very little cutlery and the crockery is very poor- cheap melamine plates etc. There are only 3 wine glasses and they are plastic. Don't know what 6 people would do other than go to Walmart! The bedding is worn and needs replacing, there were foam pads on the mattresses: if the mattresses need upgrading then please use proper mattress toppers. We had a problem with cockroaches and understand that this is a general problem and not one restricted to this condo. There is no maintenance contract in place therefore the resort staff would not help with this issue and the owner never replied when I emailed him. We had to go to Walmart and buy insecticide. Not sure what would have happened had we had other maintenance issues!

The owner lives in California and I'm in England. I found the owner difficult to communicate with as it takes a long time to receive responses to any queries. Phoning from the UK is financially not possible. There were problems paying and a foreign currency cheque 'went missing' leaving me out of pocket. Unless you're from the States, I would be cautious about booking this condo because of payment issues: 4 weeks after leaving I have still not received my deposit back.

However, despite these issues, compared to the cost of other condos at the resort, this one was very good value and we did enjoy our stay. With a few tweaks and better owner communication, it would be stunningly good value. The lack of sea view doesn't matter at all and wouldn't be worth the extra money.

Loved Oahu. Been once before but stayed in Waikiki. Thank goodness we found KoOlina, went to Waikiki one afternoon but left quickly- I would never advise anyone to stay there!

Great vacation in beautiful condo!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 9nts in this beautiful condo. It was a family vacation, 4 adults, 1 child and we had plenty of room. Condo is just as nice as the pictures. Great resort, nice lagoons. ABC store close by.

The owner Stephen was easy to work with and also gave us a great price for our 9 nts. We would love to return next year.
