We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sunny Slope Lodge. The house was exactly as advertised and very convenient to Yellowstone Park. Lisa was extremely helpful and flexible as we had some logistical problems with our aFlights into Bozeman. She also gave us excellent suggestions for what to see in the park and for getting around the area. The 5 mile drive up to the house certainly felt like 5 miles but upon arrival you are awed by the view. Thank you Lisa for allowing us to enjoy a fun family reunion in your beautiful home.
This was the cutest cabin
And the scenery around it is beautiful. The beds were comfy as were the couches. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
We loved our time here. It was the perfect location to get to the park quickly, there was plenty of space for our family and the views were amazing. The only thing that was tricky was finding the location for the first time, but Lisa’s driving directions were so so helpful! Just an enjoyable experience all around!
We maximized our Yellowstone adventuring time so were only here to sleep a few hours but appreciated the space for 6 adults to spread out comfortably for the night!
This property is a cute rustic lodge style house with beautiful views and everything you will need for your stay. Be sure to have a vehicle that can make it up the long gravel road to the lodge.
Our group of 7 had an incredible stay at this VRBO property near Yellowstone National Park! The house was stunning with breathtaking views. Though the drive up in our Sprinter van was challenging, the location near the north entrance was ideal. The hosts were attentive, providing great recommendations. We highly recommend this property for an unforgettable group getaway near Yellowstone!
Our family of five enjoyed our stay at Sunny Slope Lodge so much! It is the perfect spot to come home to after a day of hiking and wildlife watching. The location is secluded and scenic (great views!), yet 15 minutes from groceries/restaurants in Gardiner and from the North Entrance to Yellowstone. Lisa was super helpful and responsive, and the house is clean, bright and well appointed. Highly recommend!
This house is rustic and cute. Pretty close to town but you still feel like you’re in the wilderness. We saw tons of elk on the drive there and deer from the backyard.

Good house, well stocked, comfortable. But road!
Good property well appointed just wish i paid closer attention to 5 mile drive on a severly wash boarded road to the property
This cabin is perfect for a family vacation. We had 7 people including a 2 year old. Lots of room and an extremely well equipped kitchen that really helped reduce eating out costs. The location was great for easy access to Yellowstone Park, Yellowstone Hot Springs, horseback riding in Jardine and groceries in Gardiner. Very helpful host with local activities information. The entire family loved this cabin and vacation experience.

Great home in a beautiful setting .....
Perfect home if you're visiting Yellowstone - only a five minute drive to get into the Park's north entrance. Being so close to the town of Gardiner is a plus for groceries, restaurants, etc.
Our family of seven was very comfortable in this home. We especially enjoyed the open feeling due to windows all around - with gorgeous views in every direction.
Owner was very helpful in planning our visit and checking in to make sure we had what we needed. Highly recommend this home.

Average place
Gravel road from the downtown center made it seem longer than a 13 minute drive. The house has an unpleasant smell which probably from dampness. The radiant floor heater takes hours to reach the set temperature. comfortable beds
The house is about 4-5 miles from Gardiner, Montana, which is at the northern entrance to Gardiner, so it's very quiet but still close enough to town so it's an easy drive to restaurants, the grocery store, etc. The house itself is great. It's a fabulous mix of rustic and fancy, with a great living room and kitchen and really nice bedrooms. For us (a family of four, mom and dad with two young adult kids), it was absolutely perfect and provided a great base for our visit to the park. And the views out the back windows and up the hill were just beautiful. Absolutely deserves five stars.

Beautiful house, great views, too cold though.
We all loved the house. But we came on a cold night and it took about 10-12 hours for the house to heat up. So the first night was a challenge. Otherwise loved the property.
Windows all around to enjoy the mountain wilderness while visiting, playing games, eating, or planning our day trips into Yellowstone. Lots of room to spread out for quiet time plus a vast kitchen well stocked with high quality cooking utensils, pots/pans, bowls, pyrex. The BBQ was stocked & ready for grilling! Bedrooms were comfy and bathrooms clean and well supplied.
Lisa was quick to answer a few questions and evidence of her love for this great place is everywhere. Parking for our 3 cars was easy close to the house. Additional spots 100' away.
Floor heat was welcome on cold mornings.
WiFi allowed 2 of our group to make calls. The rest of us could only call from Gardiner down below.
Highly recommended!
Sunny Slope Lodge was the perfect place for our family trip to Yellowstone! The lodge is quite comfortable and was large enough for all 10 of us. We enjoyed the rustic architecture and appreciated the recycling of materials in the construction. After hot (and crowded) days in Yellowstone, we especially welcomed the calm and quiet and airiness, the green and lower temperatures at the house. And we loved that we could look across to the Park, with views of Mammoth Hot Springs, Electric Peak, and Bunsen Peak. The window seat got a lot of use!
Lisa is a great host: very helpful and welcoming and responding quickly to questions or concerns!
The lodge is very convenient to Yellowstone – only 10-15 mins. to the North entrance (which is not as crowded as the West entrance). The drive into Gardiner is mostly on a dirt road, but apart from some (inevitable) washboard, the road is quite good. From Gardiner, it is only 5 miles to Mammoth Hot Springs. Being close to Gardiner meant that we were also close to whitewater rafting/floating tours, pizza, the Gardiner Market, etc.
We have many happy memories of children playing in the yard, the horses next door, family dinners around the large table, sitting on the deck, both cooks and non-cooks gathering round the open kitchen. We would love to stay here again!
Wow! What a great please to retreat from the day to day hustle.
The amount of work and love that has been invested in this unique cabin is truly impressive.
Our only regret is we only booked for one night. Something we will definitely remedy on our next stay!
We are coming to the end of an unforgettable family vacation. We traveled from Phoenix to Glacier National Park, stayed in rural towns and big cities, and had the privilege of experiencing some special properties from great hosts. For most of us, this would be at the top of our list of many properties. It is a beautiful home with thoughtful touches. It is rustic and charming in its feel, yet will provide the amenities needed at the end of a long day hiking and exploring. It is tucked away on a mountain, and our first drive to it left us in awe as we seemed to drive up to the clouds. Despite its remoteness, it is very close to the town of Gardiner and the North Entrance of Yellowstone. Unfortunately, we were also in the middle of the flood waters. The town of Gardiner is a lovely town with nice shops and good places to eat. After the flood, the character of the town was evident, as locals rose up to help each other (and the tourists) out. While we had short time in each rental, this is a place I could easily stay for a week. Our family highly recommends this home, and we cannot speak highly enough about Lisa, the host. She was kind, supportive and informative during a difficult time, and we would happily rent from her again.
Fantastic property and SO PEACEFUL!!!! Can’t say enough about it. Well worth the 20 minute drive from Yellowstone north gate. Do yourself a favor and stay there for more than one night - give yourself time to soak up the tranquility!
Everything about it stay at sunnyslope was incredible. Amazing property! Driving to the lodge was a mini safari in its self. Loved the small personalized touches. Lisa's communication was great and helpful. My wife and 2 daughters had the best time and it was possible because the owners are thoughtful and have us a reduced price. It was worth any price. Thank you
This is a great authentic log lodge that is remote enough to be private and quiet yet still close enough to the park for day trips. It is a great place to avoid the busy and generic feel of Gardner. It has modern heating and lighting systems even though it is made of old timbers. We visited in winter, the house was toasty warm and quiet during below zero nights and high winds. The wood stove was welcome but not needed for heating due to the heated floors.
We were a party of three couples and there was plenty of space. The three main bedrooms are spaced out and have their own bathrooms. The huge and bright great room and kitchen are a fantastic space to gather and hang out. There is a big loft that part of your group (i.e. kids) could use to socialize separately from the great room. If you are looking for a place to gather friends and family this it.
The check in and reservations procedures worked fine, and the host contacted us shortly after arrival to make sure everything was OK. It was perfectly clean and organized. We are thinking of coming back again.
