About Linda Philips
We purchased the property as a young couple in order to continue our tradition of living near the water as we both did as children. This property was close enough to our home that it was great for weekends trips.
Linda Philips purchased this House in 1989
Why Linda Philips chose Reedsville
We spend the day on the water and finish with a great dinner, a hot tub and a movie.
What makes this House unique
We love to BBQ on the deck and then go for a long boat ride.

Had a quick short stay. Unable to use hot tub but will next time. The view is amazing.
Thank you Linda for sharing your home with us. Will see you next year.
Great place to visit. The house is beautiful as well as the view of the river. Large deck to cookout, picnic and the jacuzzi was an added bonus. This was a Christmas gift to my father and he loved it.
Ohio River house
We are from Nebraska and stayed at this great place on the Ohio River just outside the little town of Reedsville, Ohio. We chose this place primarily because of it is located in an area of the country we wanted to do some scenic motorcycling in and this did not disappoint. The place itself is well furnished, clean and perhaps most importantly located on a hill overlooking the beautiful Ohio River. We watched a number of barges go up and down the river which, for us, was awesome in itself. There is a large, well-maintained open area down the hill from the deck that has a couple of picnic tables strategically situated right on the river and we spent our evenings there just watching the river and talking (and having a few good beers from some local breweries). Route 124, which takes you to this place, follows the river and was quite fun to take our bike on and is a less-traveled road, making the house very peaceful and quiet at night and even during the day. We took various routes in all directions from this quaint home and really got to see the area. We highly recommend this place as a quiet getaway and it is very affordable. Thanks, Linda, for letting us stay at your place and we will certainly tell all of our friends who are planning a trip to this area to consider staying here and experiencing Ohio and West Virginia the way it should be.
Always enjoy our stay at the Ohio Guest House!
My friends and I stayed at the Guest House a Girl's weekend and we had such a great time! We stayed at the guest house last year also and came back because it was just perfect! House is beautiful and the scenery off the back porch is breathtaking. We especially enjoy the hot tub and just hanging out on the patio. Linda is great and responded to all questions I had leading up to our stay.
Beautiful, well appointed home overlooking the Ohio River. Great weekend getaway.
The Ohio River Guest House is a wonderful retreat to get away and enjoy the beauty of southeastern Ohio and the Ohio River. My sisters and I shared the home for a weekend family reunion and it was the perfect location to relax and enjoy each other's company.
The house is close enough to Athens that we took a quick trip to Ohio University where one of my sisters is an Adjunct Professor.
The house is well appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
The back deck is a gem with ample seating and a great view of the River. We enjoyed watching the barges come and go.
The hottub on the back deck is also a great feature.
Would highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway.

More than your average rental!
This home is so beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. With so much room for a great price and all of the comforts of home, this family home is far from the "standard VRBO home". Decorated with warmth and charm, this home impresses from the first key turn to checkout. The peaceful view of the river was just what we were hoping for. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We'd love to stay again!
Oh and after reading other reviews, the driveway is steep but manageable. We had no trouble with it at all.
