The Ohio River Guest house is the perfect place to relax, retreat and recharge. Enjoy watching the barges and steamboats on the river. The Guest House is a quiet and relaxing rural environment for the family or for the romantic couple. The house is only 5 years old and has all the amenities. Spend the day boating or fishing from the dock. Play a game of baseball or badminton in the lower field. Historic Marietta, Ohio is only 20 minutes away by car but have fun going by boat. Visit Blennerhatt Island or take in Fenton Glass factory. Drive 28 minutes in the other direction and visit Athens, Ohio; home to Ohio University. Whatever you decide to do for the day the evening will include a beautiful sky view, a roaring fire and a long soak in the hot tub.

We purchased the property as a young couple in order to continue our tradition of living near the water as we both did as children. This property was close enough to our home that it was great for weekends trips.
Linda Philips purchased this house in 1989
We spend the day on the water and finish with a great dinner, a hot tub and a movie.
We love to BBQ on the deck and then go for a long boat ride.
This home was much more than we expected. Built with exceptional quality, it was the perfect place for all three of our kids and grandkids to come and enjoy each other. They all live in separate states so it was a treat for Mom to have them together and cook (Kitchen had everything) for them and share old times and make a few new memories together. Yoga by the river, boat rides in the evening and hot tub fun too. Lots of joy was spread here and what lovely grounds !
This is a beautiful home overlooking the Ohio river. Our group of six had a fun time there. We all enjoyed the large hot tub and had a "toast" to every barge that passed by....great fun. We also used the gas grill and enjoyed the spacious deck for conversations and a few snacks before dinner.
We also travel to Parkersburg. to see the sights and the girls went shopping in a few nice stores. We also took yhe ferry to Blennihasset (sp) to see the historic home there...a great trip on a beautiful day!

My girlfriends and I stayed at the Ohio River Guest House for the weekend and had such a great time! The house is beautiful and very spacious. The bathrooms had so much room which is nice when 5 ladies need to get ready :-). We had a great time in the evening relaxing in the hot tub on the back porch. The house is quite secluded so we appreciated the heads up to bring our food with us from home rather than shop when we got there. We did however find a cute little deli/store 5 minutes from the house and they had everything from homemade pizza and deli meals to beer and candy & chips! Perfect! We would stay here again for sure!
This was the perfect place for a girlfriend getaway! It is charming and cozy, yet modern with everything we needed. The view of the river and the deck was a favorite spot for coffee. This lovely home is just far enough out to be "away", yet close enough to town if we so desired. We loved our time there and plan to make it an annual getaway spot!
We stayed at the Guest House for a weekend visiting our daughter at OU. It wasn't a far drive at all. The house was big, clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We have no complaints at all. The house and property was perfect and we hope to stay there again before our daughter graduates.
The ONLY complaint we had was that there was no mixer (beaters, but no mixer) so we couldn't make the cookies we had planned. We figured we probably didn't need them anyway. Other than that, we were pleasantly surprised at how big the house was and how well stocked it was. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the barges go up and down the river and fishing off the pier. It was just a great week all the way around. Thank you for sharing it with us.
