Located AT THE TOP of the Diamond Head Beach Hotel, this penthouse unit has panoramic views to the east (Diamond Head) and to the west (Waikiki), not to mention the ocean, mountain and park views. Some have likened it to a crows nest due to the outstanding views.

Why Jan Davis chose Honolulu

There is no nicer place on earth than the Oahu Gold Coast with the Pacific Ocean, Kapiolani Park and Diamond Head Crater all at your doorstep. This is a neighborhood with a real community feel. People use the park for family picnics and daily exercise like Tai Chi and Yoga. There are only three hotels in this area. About half of the Diamond Head Beach Hotel residents are here only part time--having half of the units empty contributes significantly to the quiet, neighborhood feel.

The weather is generally 80 degrees, the ocean is clear and inviting, the trade winds gently blow, and the local cultural & ethnic diversity is enviable. Where else can you have all of that and still be in the safety of the United States with immense military presence?

PLUS Kahala Mall is really close and has everything one needs in life (Whole Foods, California Pizza Kitchen, Apple Store, Macy's and the Movie Theaters). No need to be stuck in traffic.

Walk to the Waikiki Aquarium, the Honolulu Zoo or the International Market Place in Waikiki. Savor the flavors of excellent food and fine dining in our ocean front neighborhood restaurants.

AND, in my guests' words my unit is "squeaky clean, stylishly decorated, efficiently and thoughtfully laid out."

Perfect views and perfect location

Best views in Waikiki, walking to plenty of restaurants and stores without being right in the middle of the main downtown busy area. Relaxing and the owner was very quick to respond, very helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

Great place

I stayed here with my cousin this weekend. We had an amazing time in this space. It's perfect for two people. Jan was extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations for stuff near by. She also was very available by text for any questions we had. Stayed in three VRBO in Hawaii and by far the best.

Breathtaking view from a beautiful little studio room

It is difficult to accurately capture this unit in pictures or words. The unit is on the top floor of a well maintained, quiet building on the oceanfront just a few minutes walk from the main beaches. The building is narrow, and the studio style unit stretches the entire width, allowing amazing views out each window. On one side you see the diamond head volcano and ocean, on the other you see the high rises of waikiki and beaches. A small window air conditioning unit kept us comfy. The kitchenette and bathroom are along a narrow hallway, but despite some other reviewers, both were accessible and adequate. The deck on the ground floor is bestiful, with ocean waves splashing against the sea wall. You can paddle out to a good surf break or swim if you like. Overall, we couldnt have asked for a more affordable, quiet, and gorgeous place on a bustling island.

Great location and stay, wonderful owner

Diamond head hotel is a quiet and quaint little hotel south of Waikiki proper. Our goal was being out of the hustle of Waikiki but still close enough to walk to the beaches and have great views. This place was perfect for a busy couple on the go. Yes, it is smaller than a normal hotel room but it wasn't very comfortable and the owner Jan made everything easy and enjoyable even allowing us to use her beach chairs for the week. Overall would highly recommend for someone who wants to be out of the busy area but still very close to Waikiki and restaurants. Thanks for the great stay Jan!!

We had a great time! At the peaceful Diamond Head end of Waikiki, but still quite walkable. Unit is cozy perfect for two. The space is utilized extremely well and the unit is well appointed with amenities. Would stay again and recommend to family and friends...

On the water and across from Kapolani Park where the Ali'i (royalty) used to spend their weekends at the polo fields, this park is now home to lots of locals doing healthy activities like soccer games and evening concerts at the Waikiki Shell. The Waikiki Aquarium and Honolulu Zoo are a short 10 minute walk away and a hike around and up Diamond Head will be calling to those who want an aerobic workout!
