About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Welcome to our family's home away from home--a newly remodeled, well-appointed 2-bedroom/2-bath condo between Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado. Spend your Rocky Mountain vacation on the Eagle River in a well-maintained complex with free covered parking and a community hot tub.

Enjoy world-class skiing at Beaver Creek, just one mile away. Park in one of Beaver Creek's free parking lots, then take a free shuttle up to the town where an escalator whisks you up to the lifts. Or hop on the bus across the street from our condo and ride to Vail, just 8 miles away.

You can stock up on groceries and necessities at two large supermarkets within 1-1/2 miles in nearby Avon, where you'll also find restaurants, sporting goods, shopping and even ice skating. For last-minute purchases, there is a small grocery/convenience store across the street.

I have owned this property for more than 15 years, and hope you enjoy it as much as our family does. I have recently installed hardwood floors, remodeled both bathrooms and updated the kitchen with new appliances.

It is a fantastic getaway near world-renowned resorts, epic skiing, mountain biking, trout fishing and kayaking. Our condo, tucked between Vail and Beaver Creek, makes a terrific home base for your Rocky Mountain vacation--and is a great value.

Great location and value-for-money

  • 4 of 5

Just returned from our 4th stay at this condo, and will happily keep going back. We are a family of 4, and it's a perfect layout for us. This unit is not at the luxury end of the scale, but then isn't priced that way either - it is spacious, well-maintained, clean, has all the facilities you would expect, and everything works. In short, it does the job. The hot-tub is a short walk away and, though well-used, is regularly maintained and very enjoyable. The location is great for those dividing their time between Vail and Beaver Creek (as we do), and is also handy for local shops and restaurants. Covered parking is a nice touch too. The owner is very straight-forward and good to deal with.

Worked well for us, the price was excellent

  • 4 of 5

This place worked perfect for us. Everything was very clean, the bathrooms were updated and it had more space than we actually needed for my wife and myself. We did not use the hot tub or pool as we went skiing, but it is in very close proximity to Vail and even closer to Beaver Creek. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations, this is a bit short on that, but the place is huge, comfortable, clean, and above all the price cannot be beat.

There is a bus stop 100 feet from the complex and the covered parking was very nice. A convenience store is right across the street. If you are a skier, you will only be in the car for 15 minutes to Vail and less to Beaver Creek. This place would also work well for more people as it has a couple of bedrooms and a sofa, nice front load washer and dryer, wood burning fire place, grill, and the kitchen had everything you would need. A very comfortable stay. The master bedroom is a little close to the road, so if that bothers you, bring earplugs or a 12 pack and you will sleep like a baby.

Not worth the value

  • 1 of 5

This unit may be posted as a great value but it is not worth the great value.

Unit was dirty - had not been cleaned and everything in the kitchen was coated with grime and old food including the cooking utensils. Living room couch was ripped and the area rug was filthy dirty. Bathrooms were not cleaned and the toilets had feces on them. There were no screens on any of the doors so you could not open them to let fresh Colorado mountain air in.

Whoever is the property management company is doing a poor job maintaining and overseeing this unit.

Contacted the owner who was very apologetic and he contacted the property manager. The property manager came over but they were very belligerent about the conditions, apologized, but said there was nothing they could do that evening and could not get a cleaning crew until the next day.

Notified the owner we would not be staying as the unit was very dirty and run down.

The owner refunded our monies less 1 night stay.

Owner's Response: I have rented our 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo to visitors to the Vail Valley for 20 years, and have never had a problem with the condition of the unit before. I stay there frequently with my family, and it’s always clean when we arrive. Although I offered the renter a top-to-bottom cleaning, she preferred to move on, so I promptly refunded her payment. Reviews are helpful; they help us get better! Thus, I’ve had the cleaning staff perform a summer “deep cleaning,” which we normally do at the end of the ski season. I’ve also replaced the couch with a new queen-size sleeper from Crate & Barrel. Come check it out---and by the way, there are virtually no insects in Colorado, which is why many windows lack screens here. (If you live in a buggy area, this is one more reason to visit!) I am certain there will be no issues in the future, but if there are, my manager and I will respond quickly. -Steve
