Cozy Red 1890 Home. Close to Watertown & Fort Drum.

Bring your family to our 1890 cozy home with lots of room for everyone including the pups! Centrally in the Village of Carthage, not far from Fort Drum & Watertown NY. You'll be in walking distance to the Village Park, Post Office, Restaurants, Churches,and local YMCA. The home is located 8 miles from the Fort Drum Wheeler Sack gate entrance. Minutes from hiking, boat launches & in the winter, snowmachine trails! Relax by the river & lakes for some fishing & swimming. (We are not directly on a lake or river as VRBO claims)Check out the wineries & antique store! Sitesee1000 Islands both US & Canadian side! Whitewater rafting, the zoo, golfing & so much more to see & do!
A twin rollaway bed or queen air mattress can be provided upon request during the time of booking for anyone who is unable to climb stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms or if you have more then 8 guest staying the night. Guest 9 & 10 we'll provide an air mattress. Guest 11 Twin rollaway bed. Guest 12 twin air mattress or couch. There are also french doors in the living room for privacy for the rollaway bed or air mattress. (**if you unfold the rollaway, it must be laid down 1st before opening) booking must reflect number of guests for air mattress or rollaway bed.

Pet owners- pick up dog waste-place into trash BAG. Please don’t put in outdoor trash can without being in a trash bag. Dog waste left in yard/placed in trash without a bag - $75 clean fee added
Turn off all air conditioners and fans
Close and lock all windows
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
DUE TO OWNER ALLERGIES ABSOLUTELY NO CATS. YOU WILL BE CHARGED $250 FOR EXTRA CLEANING SINCE OWNER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO.

Place was perfect for 4 adults all getting a bedroom to themselves. This was a perfect location as we were in for a guided hunt with the hunt locations close by.Cooked on patio two nights and was a very quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay again.

This is a great place to stay! From the hosts that are very helpful and communicate very well to everything they said it would be. They gave us insight into the area, let us know the house was ready early if we needed and the amenities were spot on. I had to make a change and contacted the host about the change, within minutes we had an answer. I have book marked this place as we come up here often to visit Grandkids so I have now found our new place to stay during the visits!

Lovely Home

This is a darling home and comfortable to stay at. There were 6 of us and we stayed for 14 days. The hosts' has the house set up with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. All we had to do is bring in some groceries and begin our stay. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip. Great people to deal with.

My family and in-laws went up to see my brother-in-law, who recently moved up to the area with his family. Perfectly located with everything you would need for a great stay, I highly recommend staying here if you get a chance.

Perfect for family

House was very clean. The 4 bedrooms worked great for 2 sets of grandparents to visit our new grandchild. The only thing i would change is adding king sized beds.

Memorial Service

As a native of Carthage, it was nice to find a rental home within the village. The house was very nice, It could use additional seating in the living room and dressers in the non-primary bedrooms, but it was wonderful. The fenced yard in backyard was Nice for our dog. I will definitely look to stay here again in the future.

This was a perfect location to use to be closer to my nephews sporting event. The location was as described and in perfect working order. Communication with the hosts was excellent. The neighborhood is very quiet and there is plenty to do in the area. I would consider staying here again if available and I was in the area.

Holiday jaunt

Stayed here as overflow lodging since my sister’s place can no longer accommodate everyone. It was clean and comfortable. Owners were helpful and friendly. There is a village ordinance against parking on the street at night; there were no signs, but a neighbor was kind enough to remind us.

Best booking I've ever had on VRBO!

We rented this place as a get together for a dinner after getting my wedding dress in Watertown and it was the best decision we made all weekend! From the ease of location the amazing kitchen facility and how open every room was for us to play games and all hang out It was absolutely perfect! Mark and June made the entire place so accommodating for every single person that I had including the two infants and all the adults that were there! Highly recommend staying here especially with how fantastic the communication was between the hosts and myself! 10 out of 5 stars!

Cozy Farmhouse

Our family of 4 (5 including our dog) enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Red Farmhouse. The house was even better in person! Clean and well kept, it also had everything we needed for the 8 days we were there. Kitchen well stocked. Hosts extremely hospitable and easy to communicate with. Fenced in yard was great for our dog. Short drive to food options and walking trails along the Black River. Definitely recommend!

The best property we have stayed at

We were in Carthage for 2 burials of family and so glad we found this. We didn’t want to stay in Watertown. We needed a place to relax and this was the perfect place. It was clean and well prepared. They also had a high chair, portable crib, and pictures of a cow and pig in the living room. The pictures entertained the baby quite often. She kept walking over to them and pointed (especially at the cow.)

Great visit

Communication with host was great. Very friendly and helpful. The house was perfect for our family as we visited with our soldier. It was well stocked with all the necessities plus a few bonuses that other places we've stayed in didn't have. The kitchen was well socked with items so mom could make meals for her family. The neighborhood was nice and so quiet. A park for the young ones was just up the road. Overall was a great place and experience. Will be looking at again when we come to visit our soldier.
