****5 Star Experience in Hanalei Bay Unit****

My husband & I arrived after a few days of travel & this was just the retreat that we needed. The room was clean, inviting, well kept & the view of Bali Hai outstanding. This is the smaller unit with no kitchen available, but it does come equipped with dishes, blender, toaster, kuerig, regular coffee pot & a small refrigerator. The only sink to wash dishes/cups, if not rented in conjunction with the larger 1 bedroom unit, is the bathroom sink. It was not ideal for sure, but it was one of the ONLY things that I found not ideal with the unit.

The unit also comes with snorkel gear, umbrella, small picnic basket, beach chairs and tennis rackets/balls. The other thing that I found lacking was one of the beach chairs was VERY uncomfortable to use. I think it was made for a smaller frame, which I nor my husband have, and it did not adjust, so we just took turns using the Tommy Bahama chair. Yes, the chair was supplied by Joan & for that I was thankful. It was very hard to complain when sitting on Tunnels Beach. I did not even contact her about the chair as it was personal preference on our part.

This was our first stay at HBR & we will be back. From check-in to check-out everyone was so friendly & showed true aloha spirit. The bellhop service is a nice amenity & we used it to transport our bags, from the beach & for our groceries. The basic internet was perfectly fine & we both were able to function with the basic. The parking was the only issue that was not ideal. If you arrive after 7:30pm or so you will have to park near the front of the resort. One night we returned around 10pm & we barely found a spot. Don't let keep you from this fabulous resort. We visited in July 2017, peak season, so I am sure that is why the parking was so scarce. The walk to the unit from the parking lot is beautiful, but please note that the final hill into the bottom Palms building where the unit is located is steep (going down) & in the rain can be slick. You have to go back up that hill to wash and dry clothes (25-30 yards) as there is no washer & dryer in the unit (if renting separate from the 1 bedroom). We were in shape after a week here!! The resort is very well kept & we highly recommend it & Joan's unit. The unit even has soft closing drawers in bathroom & bar area !! LOVE! Her communication was timely & appreciated. We did have to contact her about a minor issue with the unit & the issue was QUICKLY resolved. Thanks so much for sharing your Kauai home with us! Mahalo!

My husband and I stayed in the lock-off portion of this unit. The bed was wonderfully comfortable; the room was large enough with a nice sitting area, the kitchenette allowed us to prepare and enjoy a simple breakfast and lunch on the deck. The view from the deck is serene and beautiful. Joan attended to every detail via email and phone prior to our arrival and while we were there when I called her with a question. She even provided a list of her favorite restaurants and activities in the area. We are so happy to have found this property and will return. The property and the property owner are real gems.

We recently returned from our destination wedding/honeymoon where we stayed in 4221. I thought the pictures of this condo were amazing but they do not do it (and the view) justice. The view is breathtaking and the condo is immaculate and beautiful. This condo is well cared for and it shows. The furnishings are high quality- even the sheets. The bed was very comfortable. The condo resort is great too. The pool is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. The owner, Joan, was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly (which goes a long way with a nervous bride-to-be trying to perfect all the details of our elopement). We fell in love with Kauai and this condo and immediately booked a return trip. I cannot say enough good things about this condo and its owner. Thank you, Joan!

This is our 2nd time renting this very nice property. The interior decor is top notch. Beautiful soft sheets. Bed is very comfortable. There are plenty of towels in the bathroom. The bathroom is updated, plus a nice shower head. The unit provides a gorgeous view that you can even enjoy from the bed! You can see all the way down to the ocean and the breathtaking green hills on the left. We so enjoyed the patio with chairs where we would sit in the early morning enjoying a cup of coffee taking in the beautiful view.

We enjoy driving to the Hanelei bay pier and hanging out for the day by the ocean. I also enjoy the cute shops in Hanelei (better than the south shore!)

First stay at HBR and wish we could have stayed longer. The resort is fantastic from check-in to check-out and in a perfect location for us to check out the entire North shore of Kauai. The drive to the Napali Coast was easy and we found there was more to do around town at a reasonable price compared to the south shore. Beach access takes about 10 minutes walking, 5 minutes by golf cart (shuttle). This unit has an absolutely spectacular view in September with the sun setting directly at the point of Bali Hai. Perfect unit for a couple; honeymooners won't be disappointed. Concur with accolades given in many of the other posts regarding bed, bath, and amenities. We hope to be back soon, absolutely loved every minute!!
