Need a break from life, well this is the place to spend some quality time with family, friends or a significant other and just unwind! This vacation rental is situated in the heart of the Gallatin National Forest and adjacent to the beautiful Yellowstone River. Trout fishing in the Yellowstone River is world renowned, as are the spectacular mountain views! The townhouse is situated in the shadow of Emigrant peak (10,921’) in the heart of the Paradise Valley and is only three miles away from the famous Chico Hotspring and Day Spa! Chico features live music every Friday and Saturday nights and the Hotsprings are very popular with all age groups! Hiking, biking, horseback trail rides, rafting, fishing, live theater, shopping, and antiquing are just a few of the activities that are available! This area has so much to offer and the activities available are endless! It is no wonder why they call this Paradise Valley!

Whatever you choose to do, you can tailor your vacation to whatever you want it to be. Your vacation can be an adventurous outdoor experience or a more laid back experience enjoying the amenities of the local cities of Livingston, Bozeman and Billings. Livingston was just featured on the Travel Channel’s “No Reservations with Anthony Bordain”, which highlighted the amazing dinning and outdoor opportunities with locally sourced organic ingredients! The oldest and most historic north entrance into Yellowstone National Park through the Roosevelt Arch is only 30 miles away where you will enter into the most majestic and scenic park in the world! Due to the volcanic geology history of the park, the scenery is absolutely incredible. Wildlife is abundant in the park, so there is never a dull moment! In addition the North Entrance is the only entrance into the park that is open year around! So don't hesitate to come see the other side of Yellowstone in the fall or winter!

The fall colors of the aspens and the contrasting evergreens make it an unbelievable scenic experience! Three miles away from your front door is the heavenly Chico Hotsprings Resort and Day Spa! So after a long day relax over a gourmet dinner and take a relaxing dip in the hot springs! The townhouse is fully equipped, so if you choose you can just relax, prepare your own meals, soak in the deep garden style bathtub, watch High Def Direct TV, and sleep in your own cozy bed!

Emigrant is a cozy country town with friendly Montana atmosphere! Located within walking distance there is a bank, post office, bakery, grocery store, gas station, fly shop, gift shop, diner and saloon! So whatever your needs maybe, you’ll find it right outside your door at your finger tips! Having these amenities so close allows you to just sit back and relax! In addition, the Yellowstone River, Mill Creek, Dailey Lake and Grey Owl Public Fishing access are only a short distance away! I have compiled a document with local businesses, activities and travel arrangements, so you can pre-plan your vacation in advance! If not, bring your laptop computer and utilize the free Wi-Fi for exploring or to just keep tabs with work. Please contact me and I’ll send you an email with a complete listing of information regarding local attractions, activities and travel!

About Drew Ellis

My wife and I arrived in Montana in a new job in the summer of 1998 and fell in love with the wide open unspoiled space of Montana. Every year I would explore a little more of it and discovered the Paradise Valley the summer of 2000 while visiting Yellowstone National Park. I worked in the park for three years, and we’ll just say we both fell in love with the area. I currently volunteer in South Dakota for the National Wildlife Refuge System and we cannot wait to get back to the Paradise Valley to unwind every chance I get!

Drew Ellis purchased this townhome in 2009

Why Drew Ellis chose Yellowstone Country

After living in Montana for nine years, ya just get addicted! They don't call it Big Sky Country for nothing! My wife and I come back to unwind and just get rejuvenated for life in the real world! Every year I bring friends and family together in the Paradise Valley as a base of operations! We hit the ground running and take advantage of the fishing, sightseeing, hiking, rafting, camping and fabulous dinning! The thermal hot springs in the area are endless and are heavenly after a day of having fun! The weather in Montana is wonderful and is always sunny! If ya don’t like the weather, wait fifteen minutes and the glorious sun will be shinning again! I purchased the townhouse to take full advantage of the area because you just can’t see or do it all in one visit. Due to the overwhelming amount of enjoyment that we have here, my friends and family encouraged me to make it available year round for everybody to enjoy! The townhouse is equipped with everything to make it truly a paradise for relaxing! Enjoy and don’t hesitate to call me for suggestions!

What makes this townhome unique

Vacationing in the Paradise Valley is truly unique due to the location. We really enjoy dining in the Dining Room at Chico Hotsprings! A truly fine dining experience! Or sometimes we like going to the Chico Hotspring lounge for live music and dancing on weekends! The do it yourself outdoor opportunities here are endless with fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking, camping, horseback riding, rafting, snowmobiling, and sight-seeing to name a few. Being located in the heart of the Gallatin National Forest and Yellowstone National Park public access is wide open! Pine Creek Falls is only a short distance away, so if you want to take a short hike, you will discover a beautiful waterfall! If you are looking for a more guided experience, you can experience all of this and more with the numerous guided activities that abound here! You can arrange fully guided events, so you can just relax and not worry about a thing! This is area is very family friendly and is a wonderful place to let children just cut loose! In addition, the townhouse is situated amongst several cities for theater, dinning, museum and shopping opportunities! The plethora of activities in the area makes this area truly a unique opportunity to do whatever you want to do on your vacation!

Owner's Response: That is awesome that we have fulfilled our intentions with our vacation rental! We truly want it to be a home away from home and that all our guest know that we meet all and above state standards for safety codes! Having a vacation in a home is far superior than a hotel or motel! We want our guest to feel like they are at home and not on vacation. Thanks Drew

Couldn't have been more perfect

  • 5 of 5

We had a quick trip out to Montana to see my son and daughter in law who live in Emigrant and needed a place for 3 of us to stay that was near our family. We had no idea what a gem we were going to find! The place was just as described in the listing, Drew was very easy to work with when it came to booking and paying for our stay, and the view from the townhouse was gorgeous. While it is the off season in many ways for entering the Park, we were close enough to drive down and enjoy a day spent observing the bison, elk, and deer as well as do a little hiking. We had great dinners at Chico Hot Springs and at the Second Street Bistro in Livingston, but we could just as easily cooked in the townhouse because it had everything we would have needed.

As long as my son and daughter in law are living and working in the area, we will definitely be back! Thanks Drew for opening up your home to others to enjoy.

Welcome Home!

  • 5 of 5

Just thirty minutes from the North Entrance of Yellowstone with spectacular scenery all the way and easy access to I-90 too! I hate hotels: uncomfortable, impersonal, noisy, a little scary, but staying here was just like coming home. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Price was right 1

The location was good for our needs. It was a problem not having both baths not on the same floor. and there was no guest bar soap.. this was not a deal breaker but was an inconvenience.

Wish there was more than very basic TV channel selection, would have been nice to view more channels like CNBC..again not a deal breaker.

What was a possible very big deal was, the upstairs bath which is a soaking tub had worn out slip and fall protectors on the base of the tub, getting in & our necessitated a lot of caution. This is a very easy fix and the management not be aware of it.. I am sure they will take care of this after reading this review. No need to expose themselves to possible legal issues.

No rental is perfect. this one was very good, It was represented accurately was very well stocked. and it lacked nothing for your stay except for the one item listed above.

Would not hesitate to stay again

Best Stay Ever!!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review!!! SORRY DREW!

This place was AMAZING! It's still hard to believe that it's real! Far, far better than the overpriced hotels in the Yellowstone area! My 4 children and my mother in law stayed here for close to a week while we enjoyed the Yellowstone area. The house is amazing. Immaculately clean and very homey feeling. My children LOVED the bedroom upstairs! Their favorite part: a fun little closet room off the main room! Everything was provided - it was like being in my own home. The home is in the most quaint little town... we popped right down the road for coffee and breakfast a couple of mornings, and a couple of mornings we cooked in the house.

Drew was amazing to work with and gave me more than enough information regarding the area! We did hit up Yellowstone several days and we DID find the hidden boiling springs! Wow...being almost 8 months pregnant at the time, it proved to be challenging getting in...but we did it and it was great fun! We also did end up going to the Museum of the Rockies one day. Looking back, I actually wish we had just chilled at the house one day...all day and just enjoyed the area right there! There's open space for kids to play...bring a soccer ball or something!

I would definitely definitely definitely recommend this place to anyone, and I would definitely rent it again as just a peaceful getaway for a few days if we head back out West! Not even just to go to Yellowstone, but just to relax and enjoy the beautiful home and peaceful countryside right there in Emigrant!

Owner's Response: JP and Anna! Thank you for such a wonderful review! It makes us feel so good! We fell in love with the Paradise Valley and is what drove us to want to provide a "home" to our guest! Having a home away from home while visiting such an amazing area takes your vacation to the next level of nirvana! We love the experience so much that we wanted to share it with everyone! First, congratulations on visiting the "Hidden Boiling River Experience" and congratulations on your new baby! I just want you to know how much it means to us that felt like you were at "home" and not on vacation! Thanks Drew

Owner's Response: Anna! We have achieved what we set out to do! I am not a Montanan by birth, but I fell in love with the area! I used to rent a hotel and visit the area! But once I realized what it felt like to feel like it was my permanent home, it changed our experience! We have tried to recreate the feeling that the townhouse is your home which suddenly changes the experience! Now it is your home and you are living a dream! Now you know why I provide all of the amenities! I do not want you to have run out a buy basis necessities! We have truly tried to make it turn key! Walk in and just relax! I am so glad that you looked at the local information email and just really just utilize items we always enjoy in the local area! Just like you said, a vacation is detoxing and just doing what makes heart happy! You cannot seethe Park in a YEAR! Why stress about it, you can come back nest year! I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay, and please know that you, your family and your new addition are so welcome at a reduced rate! Thanks Drew!!!
