House, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
We built our home 18 years ago. All amenities have been thoroughly thought out. It has been immaculately maintained to the highest standards. It is on one floor, no stairs. The main house consists of the master bedroom with an outdoor bathroom in addition to the traditional bathroom. Two other spacious bedrooms also have their own individual baths. One of the bedrooms has it's own outdoor shower. (a total of 3 outdoor showers)
The cottage, adjacent to the main house has it own bedroom and bath, living room and Pullman kitchen. It also has an outdoor shower.
Lots of toys for both young and old. 4 Kayaks are available for renters' use. There is a 2800 Sq. ft outdoor terrace which also is home to a ping pong table, backgammon game and sits next to our Bocce court. Fully air-conditioned. Sits above the best bone fishing flats on the island. The house is situated so that the terrace faces west to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets!!!

My husband and I have been coming to Harbour Island for over 40 years. It is a place where we, as a family, came every year during the children's vacation periods. Now our children are bringing their children to experience the Harbour Island 'magic'.
Owner purchased this House in 2001
Why Owner chose Harbour Island
After coming to the island for over 40 years, we decided to build our own Paradise home.
What makes this House unique
Our house manager, Audrey, makes your stay effortless. She is a delight and is ready to help with any request.

Sports & Adventure Activities
We've just returned from a month at this glorious property, so we got to know the house and its wonderful staff well (disclosure point: we have rented this house four or five times since 2003, but never for a month). Those who only want to rent on the beach front on Harbour Island don't know what they're missing! This chic Narrows property faces the island of North Eleuthera across the most gorgeous piece of blue water you can imagine--from pale aquamarine to deep violet in hue. The flats are directly in front of the house, so bone fishing is about a three-minute walk away. The sandy bottom is perfect for wading for up to a half mile at low tide. Paddle boards and kayaks are made for this territory. Above all, the sunsets are divine for the cocktail hour! And for those who miss the beach on the oceanside, it's a very short walk to the beach path, which pops out about 100 feet from Pink Sands. This makes a swim and lunch at the Blue Bar very easy. Now for the house itself. It is incredibly well stocked, with everything you could possibly want to entertain your guests. It has all of the kitchen things you need if you like to cook, and if not, there's Internet, satellite TV, a great sound system, a heated pool, bocce court, and "chaises longues" on the expansive pool terrace. The decor is very comfortable both inside and out. One of the things I love about the house is the clear view of the water immediately as you step through the front doors, which we left open most of the time. The property sleeps 8 and every room is ensuite. We always stay in the cottage because my husband loves to sleep with the double doors open at night, but every room is as nice as the next. The owners have thought of every single thing their guests could possibly want, and they truly care that the place is spic and span. Which brings me to the staff. Audrey Curry is the housekeeper (she makes beds, does laundry and dishes so we don't have to), and she is also an excellent cook, especially when it comes to her special dinners of jerk chicken, conch salad and grilled lobster tails. Her brother Barrett keeps the grounds clean and Howard Johnson does a great job on the pool 3x a week. The three of them make your vacation care free. I cannot say enough good things about this house, its location and its crew. A bonus with this house is the nearly tame rooster and his hen (Ozzie and Harriet) who show up occasionally for a treat!
Gumelemi Bluff is A Perfect Mix and More
We couldn't have had a more perfect mix of beauty, privacy and access. The owners were very thoughtful concerning travelers needs and were available to answer any questions concerning the use of the house and navigating the island. It was so special to have the housekeeper who was wonderful and took care of any of our needs. The spacious comfort and nice accommodations of this home were a real luxury. Having the fun activities available - bocce, ping pong, a pool, relaxing poolside loungers, kayaks and paddle boards were a real bonus! All four couples were so greatful to have had such a wonderful place to stay and want to definitely return to Gumelemi Bluff!
Lovely Island Getaway
I would not hesitate a second to book this house again. The house is extremely well thought out...there are four generous sized bedrooms (each with its own bathroom) - making it feel more like a mini bed and breakfast than a house. The House is equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay- Kayaks, hammock, pool table, bocce court, indoor/outdoor sound system, and a BBQ. The pool overlooks the bay with the most beautiful sunset on the island. There is plenty of outdoor seating on the expansive patio that (again) overlooks the gorgeous bay and sunsets. We spent many nights laughing and talking on the outdoor patio furniture. We loved the location of the home...located in the "narrows" and only a short golf cart ride to Dunmore town dining...But still tucked away enough to have privacy. We had four couples in our party...but the house is also perfect for families. We would love to bring our kids back - as there are loads of "fun toys" for them to keep busy all day.
Perfect place for a play date with dear friends......
Harbor Island is incomparable with regards to the perfect island getaway. Tranquil turquoise waters surround this laid back paradise of pastel colored houses, friendly locals, wonderful dining spots, and most of all, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This 3 mile stretch of soft pink sand, with its gentle surf and warm trade winds, will beckon you to just come and relax the day away, and when done, you get to go back to Gulememi Bluff!
The Bluff is welcoming, is tastefully decorated, with 4 beautiful bedroom suites, a large indoor kitchen and living room area, but even better is the outdoor area. The pool deck is huge, with lots of relaxing lounge chairs that flows easily from one area to the next, with an amazing westerly water view where we watched the most amazing sunsets with our friends. Add the bbq for the locally caught lobster and bacci ball court, or take out the kayaks for a run on the crystal clear waters.
The location of the house is really convenient but "tucked away" enough to make it very private. The home owners and housekeeper were so helpful with anything regarding the house or local information and hot spots.
We cant wait to come again.
We loved the house and the island. Working with the owner was a dream and we felt like we were visiting friends instead of renting a house. The house is truly well located, beautifully furnished and very easy to share for a few couples or for a family. All of the key items you might want on vacation are right there for you to use - and the housekeeper is very helpful with any questions!
Island Estate Home, spectacular bay views, private getaway
We recently rented Gumelemi Bluff for the second time. We have been going to Harbour Island for over 25 years and have stayed at various houses and all the upper end hotels, and I must say Gumelemi Bluff is our favorite home to rent. The house is located in the Narrows section of the island on the bay side, but close to town overlooking the flats of Harbour island. The thing that sets the house apart from others is the spectacular views and outdoor areas. The house has a nice pool with cabana and large deck with 360 degree views of the bay. Given the house is up on a bluff, the views are really spectacular. The interior of the home is comfortable, nothing fancy, but set up well with a master on one side and two separate rooms with baths on the other side. The cabana is a great place to put guests or older kids. A short golf cart ride to the beach and there are places to rents chairs, but it is nice to be able to come back to the bay side in the afternoon and watch the sun go down. I would recommend Gumelemi Bluff to anyone that is looking for a private, estate type home with complete privacy and wonderful outdoor living.
