About the host
Hosted by Michael Harvey
I’m a proud University of Georgia grad (Go Dawgs!!!) and also studied Finance and Accounting at the University of Virginia. After school, I moved to Atlanta and worked in finance for several years before discovering my true passion: hosting.
I started back in 2015 by renting out a spare bedroom, which quickly grew into remodeling a basement and eventually helping friends and family design their own vacation homes. What began as a side project turned into Host This Home in 2018, where I now get to focus full-time on creating comfortable, memorable spaces for travelers.
I also serve as Treasurer for the Atlanta Metro Short-Term Rental Association, where I work with other hosts to keep Atlanta’s short-term rental community strong and welcoming.
When you stay with me, my goal is simple: to make you feel right at home while enjoying everything our city has to offer.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Old Fourth Ward because it captures everything we love about Atlanta — its history, creativity, and constant sense of movement. You can feel the neighborhood’s roots in every street, but there’s also this buzz of new life and energy that makes it one of the most exciting places in the city.
The apartment sits just minutes from Ponce City Market, a massive old Sears building turned food hall and shopping destination that’s now one of Atlanta’s most iconic gathering spots. Whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee, browsing local boutiques, or taking in sunset views from Skyline Park on the roof, it’s the perfect place to start or end your day.
Just outside Ponce City Market runs the Atlanta BeltLine — and that’s really the heartbeat of the neighborhood. You can hop right on and walk, run, or bike for miles, passing street art, parks, pop-up markets, and restaurants along the way. It’s one of those places where locals and visitors mingle naturally, and you feel a real sense of community.
What we love most is how much the area has evolved around the BeltLine. Ponce de Leon Avenue has come alive with new developments, restaurants, and creative spaces that still blend beautifully with the neighborhood’s history. You’ll find old brick buildings transformed into modern cafés, rooftop bars with city views, and murals that tell Atlanta’s story one wall at a time.
For us, Old Fourth Ward isn’t just a convenient location — it’s a neighborhood that embodies everything Atlanta is becoming: vibrant, walkable, welcoming, and full of character. It’s the kind of place that keeps surprising you, no matter how many times you visit.

What makes this property unique
There’s something about this apartment that just feels good the moment you walk in. Maybe it’s the soft glow of the lighting, the clean modern lines, or the quiet calm that settles in after a day exploring the city. Tucked beneath a charming home in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, this space was designed to feel like your own little hideaway — a place where you can kick off your shoes, curl up on the couch, and instantly relax.
Every detail has a personal touch. The kitchen has everything you need for a slow morning coffee or a quiet dinner in. The living area is cozy without feeling cramped, with just the right mix of comfort and style. And when you’re ready to rest, the bedroom feels like a retreat — soft bedding, peaceful tones, and that perfect balance of warmth and privacy.
Guests often say it feels like staying with a friend who thought of everything. You’re close enough to walk to the BeltLine, grab lunch at Ponce City Market, or explore the neighborhood’s small shops and cafés — but when you come back, it feels like your own private world.
This isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to slow down, feel at home, and experience a slice of Atlanta’s charm that’s both local and deeply personal.
