Amazing views with good access to mt hood

  • 4 of 5

The house was great for us and the three kids. The view of mount hood is amazing. We had a 25 minute drive to skiing and 15 minutes to hood river (although only 5 to Parkdale, which is a cute tiny town). Owners were always available and helpful. We’ll look to stay here again.

My family and I loved MHVL. It is aptly named (on a clear day). Great location! Amazing view!

  • 4 of 5

It was our first Oregon Christmas and Mother Nature delivered a winter wonderland. The house was warm (and especially cozy with the wood burning stoves going). We enjoyed walks along the canal trail (located five minutes up the slope behind the house), the Mt Hood Railroad, a trip to historic Timberline Lodge, a visit to the old power station at White River falls south of The Dalles, and shopping and dining in Hood River. It was one of the most relaxed holidays, thanks to a well-equipped house, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of nearby activities. I’d love to return with our grandkids so they can enjoy the large playroom downstairs, and all the outdoor adventures in the Gorge.

Nice place

House would work well for about any size group. The lawn is expansive and well kept. Location is handy for everything, HR, parkdale, ski venues and hiking.

Outstanding location which worked perfectly for our group!

  • 5 of 5

We were 5 adults visiting Hood River for celebration of the 60th birthday of one of us. It was a trip to take in the wine tasting and brewery offerings of the area. Not to shop, wind surf or sample the various restaurants. With that in mind, the location being about 15 minutes out of town was perfect to be out of the busy commercial site. Of course, the setting with Mt. Hood in your face to the south was exquisite. The small community of Parkdale just down the road was convenient for the Solera Brewery visit and small store. Fruit stands were nearby. Wineries located not far to the north, and others to the west around the Fruit Loop. All of this was great so the location is probably the best available in all of Hood River! But I do need to forewarn any visitors not to expect too much from the house itself. We all agreed that for us and our goals in Hood River we would give it 5 stars. However, the house is quite dated. The patio and deck chairs are very weather worn. Interior furniture is also dated. It doesn't have much in the way of character or quaintness. We were there on an unusually hot weekend, so the lack of air conditioning was stifling but we were not hanging around in the house anyway and the evening breeze after sun set cooled things off fairly quickly. Bottom line....we would stay there again because it worked for us! (oh, ps., we had anticipated bringing the favorite well loved family dog so paid the pet fee. However with the forecast heatwave we decided to leave him home. The owners made the refund without hesitation. We've been other places where deposits vanish, so it is nice to know you can have confidence in the owners.)

Great Space

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay, comfortable and clean and spacious for 3 couples, would have worked with kids too. There was shampoo, but no conditioner :-(. And some newer pans for cooking would be a simple and cheap upgrade as well. Overall, we had as awesome weekend and this VRBO was easy.

Amazing View...Comfortable and spacious

  • 5 of 5

This location was perfect. Great view of Mt. Hood, as advertised. Major fires in Oregon during our visit so a lot of smoke but when the smoke lifted or shifted the view was spectacular. There were only two of us, so it was like we each had our own apartment, one upstairs and one downstairs. Would be a great place for family with kids. Enjoyed wine tasting and 3 Rivers Grill is a great place to sit outside and soak up the view of the river.
