Guestbook comments from the owner

From a three year old, "Thank you for letting me pet the dogs, and thank you for letting me feed the cows. Thank you for letting me ride on the truck and the gator...and for letting me go to the snow! " Her parents wrote, "Thanks so much for everything! (Our daughter) had a blast, and we did too! You and your family are great hosts. The house is so cozy and comfortable, and the ranch is spectacular".

August 2017: Lovely stay in a lovely cottage on a lovely farm with a lovely family. And a lovely kitty. And chickens. We spent four nights in Indian Valley at the Meyer Cottage. It is located in a magical valley about an hour south of Lassen. There are great road bike rides throughout the valley (really, five cars in 30 miles!). Nice mountain bike rides out of the hills. Lassen is a (relatively) short drive for great hiking. Christine has plenty of tips for local flavor - trust her judgement. And don't forget to feed Franklin and toss a stick for Bess and Clancy.

Meyers Ranch

After a week of camping it was nice to relax in the cabin for a few nights before heading back to the city. Our two young kids loved hanging out with the dogs and feeding the cat!

Relaxing & Quiet

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for somewhere we could disconnect and just relax, enjoying our surroundings. The Meyers cabin was the perfect place. We sat on the porch enjoying the view and just chilled for most of our visit. We had everything we needed and had no complaints.

I have stayed on the Meyers ranch several times and will definitely be back. The Meyers family make you feel like you are a part of the family. You are welcome to join in or have a quiet time to yourself. What ever you choose this is definitely the place to be. It has become my home away from my home. Enjoy!!

Cozy cabin in a picturesque valley

  • 5 of 5

Our small family of four recently finished a wonderful trip to Greenville, Ca. We arrived late Friday morning and were greeted by one of our great hosts Christine and the two dogs that roam the property, Clancy and Bess. We were shown into the cabin and given a quick tour of the property, then we settled in.

The cabin itself is very well maintained and clean. It is stocked with basic cooking supplies and plenty of towels and blankets. The upstairs loft sleeps 6 on comfortable beds with good pillows and comforters. It was pretty cold at night but the heater in the cabin worked great, we were never uncomfortable.

There was great walking on the property. Each day we went on a walk in a new direction with Bess tagging along as our guide. We spent some quiet time at the reservoir one day and throwing rocks in the creek by the creekside barbeque the next day.

Our other host Chris and his son set us up with fishing poles and tackle for the kids to take fishing at Round Valley Lake, about a 15 minute drive up the mountain. They were beyond welcoming and helpful, explaining where interesting landmarks around the area were, letting the boys play ball in the barn, and having great conversations.

The ranch is a working ranch so you get to witness, and experience if you choose, the life of a ranch family. The cattle and horse are a quick walk away, while the chickens and sheep dogs roam around the property. There is also a very friendly cat that lives on the porch of the cabin. He was great with our two small boys, as were the two dogs.

We had amazing views from the front porch and had great weather during the day for relaxing and enjoying the sights. We truly enjoyed our time in Greenville and visiting with the Meyer's family and will definitely be booking another holiday here next year.
