Main House & Cottage, 9 Bedrooms, 7 Full Baths, 2 Half Baths, (Sleeps 16-24)
We purchased this historic home in 2003 and have painstakingly restored it to its former glory. The original heart pine floors, six fireplaces and woodwork represent the finest of original Virginia craftsmanship. La Fourche, French for fork in the road, because the property was at the crossroads of Albemarle County during the 19th century--one way leading to Richmond and the other way leading to Washington DC.

Why Owner chose Royal Acres
As graduates of the University of Virginia and the Darden School, my husband and I cherish coming back to Charlottesville. The countryside is spectacular, and the northwest vista from the house incorporates the mountain view where Monticello sits, the home of Thomas Jefferson. It's the perfect blend of country while being just 7 miles from the University grounds.

Beautiful historic property
We had a 50th birthday girls’ trip to Charlottesville and were blessed to have stayed at your property. It was roomy and luxurious yet totally cozy and comfortable. Plenty of beds! Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for your kind review. I am so glad the home made your weekend even more special for you and your friends. Come back any time.
Fabulous Thanksgiving Week!
Excellent. Everything Was as expected plus more! Great for a large family.
Perfect place for a small company retreat!
We had an absolutely wonderful time together cooking, roasting marshmallows over the fire, feeding the horses, and visiting wineries and breweries. The house and grounds were 100% perfect!
Fabulous Fall Wedding Weekend Stay
It was the perfect place for family to be together during a wedding weekend. The beds were comfortable, there was more than enough space for privacy, and great space for hanging out. The fire pit was the best part. Each night following the event of the day or evening we gathered around the fire pit for fun family time. It couldn't have been more perfect! Thank You!
We filled this beautiful house with family and friends in town for my son’s wedding and hosted the rehearsal dinner in the back yard. All of the rooms were as advertised and perfectly clean and comfy. The living and dining areas were perfect for out many family meals. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we could need. The back patio and yard proved to be a perfect setting for our rehearsal dinner and a lovely gathering place in the evenings, with a warm fire in the fire pit. The location was close enough to Charlottesville and stores yet perfectly situated out in the country to allow us to unplug from the world and focus on our family. Margaret, the property manager was very welcoming and helpful. Thank you La Fourche for being a perfect piece of a beautiful wedding weekend!!
