Beautiful apartment situated close to all Parisian sights. Most major tourist attractions can be reached in less than half an hour. The nearest metro is also close - 550 m, a 6 minutes walk.
Tourist attractions in the close neighborhood are the Catacombs of Denfert Rochereau, le Jardin du Luxembourg, the Tower of Montparnasse, the Rodin Museum and La Fondation Cartier.
Montparnasse is known as the artists' quarter. In the 1950s, famous people like Miles Davis, Jean-Paul Sartre & Simone de Beauvoir and Ernest Hemingway (among others) spent much of their time here. Well-known places to visit are le Closerie des Lilas, la Coupole or le Dôme.
The apartment is located in a very popular neighborhood near the authentic Rue Daguerre. This typical French market street has not been invaded by big retailers and still features real small neighborhood shops and tiny trendy boutiques.
People from all over Paris come to this pedestrian street for their food shopping, enjoy a glass of wine on a terrace of a side-walk café or savor dinner in one of the many restaurants the Rue Daguerre offers.
This bustling street reflects old-time Paris and is the charm of this lively and wonderful neighborhood.
The light and sunny three-room apartment (57m2 or 614 sq. ft.) is suitable for 4 persons. Situated on the fourth floor of a quiet building from early 20th century. Furnished with beautiful antique and modern furniture and equipped with a mobile air conditioner. The apartment is also fully equipped with double glass windows.
Several buses and metros are nearby and will lead you quickly everywhere in Paris.
Arrival- and departure day is flexible, depending on the previous and following guests. It is always possible to leave your luggage upon waiting for your apartment.
Accessibility: The apartment is situated on the fourth floor. There is no elevator.

Thank you for your interest in my profile. I have the Dutch and the French nationality and I came to Paris to work in 1981. With my husband and two children, I have been living in the neighborhood of Montparnasse for many years now and I still enjoy every minute of it. Now that my children are studying, I have time to take care of the rental and the guests. It is great to receive visitors from all over the world.
Elisabeth purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Elisabeth chose Plaisance
The building in which the apartment is situated was built by the great-grandfather of my husband in 1911. The great-grandmother said to the great-grandfather: "But why are you building in the country side?" as there were just farms, cows and chicken around. The building was finished after WWI when the apartment was let to Mr and Mrs Robbe-Grillet. They were the parents of Alain Robbe-Grillet, the famous French novelist and filmmaker. Until recently, his sister Anne-Lise rented the apartment.
What makes this Apartment unique
The area around the apartment is quiet and safe but lively at the same time. The Rue Daguerre is, as so many guests mention, an oasis of food shops, restaurants and sidewalk cafes. I live in the same building as the apartment and I am always available to give information and help if needed.

Everything we Expected
This was an immaculately clean typically French apartment, in a great area. It is exactly as advertised and what we expected.
Elisabeth met us at the apartment and showed us its little quirks, like the shower which had the hot and cold reversed and the kitchen sink tap which came down to open the window. No big deals.
The building is about 100 years old, but the kitchen and bathroom have been recently redone and are very modern. The toilet is separate from the shower, which is handy.
It is steps away from Rue Daguerre - a great walking only shopping street. And about a ten minute walk from the Denfert Rochereau Metro stop, which is serviced by lines 4 and 6. Between them they go directly to the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame without having to change lines - very convenient.
Elisabeth points out that the apartment is on the 4th floor and the apartment building does not have an elevator. This is stated up front so you should not be surprised. (The stairs were a bit of a blessing as we managed to not gain weight in spite of enjoying many of the great Parisienne restaurants.)
Would definitely recommend.
Just returned from a memorable week in Paris in this fantastic apartment! The apartment is beautifully decorated with incredible attention to detail. Elisabeth the lovely owner has anticipated your every need with lovely linens, comfortable beds, a light, airy living space and dining area, and even umbrellas and dining reccomendations. We loved the location. There is a pedestrian area just around the corner with great chees shops, butchers, patisseries and cafes and it is close to the metro: we’ll be back!
Lovely apartment in a wonderful neighbourhood.
We didn't want to leave and would love to go back. It is a great apartment, feels very French, impeccably clean, and had everything we needed.
Comfortable, Old-Style-Elegant Atmosphere in Montmartre
My husband and I spent six days in this centrally located apartment. The owner, Elisabeth Rosset, a very charming Dutch-Française, was superbly helpful during our period of booking. We had to change the dates twice, she was very supportive during that time. Our flight arrived early; Elisabeth offered to store our luggage while the place was being readied for us. She also helped to take our luggage up to the 4th floor.(73 steps). The location is close to the Metro and RER. The boulangerie, charcuterie, fromagerie, fruits and vegetables, pharmacy are all around the corner. It's hard to decide among all the delicious bread, cheeses, smoked hams, and beautifully arranged fruits what to buy.
All tourist attractions are easily reached from the apartment via the Metro or RER. We bought three-day passes which allowed us to use the metro as often as we needed it. There are one- week passes available, but they must be purchased by Thursday the latest. A taxi from the airport charges a fixed price of 55 Euro.
The kitchen is small with a three-burner stove. It does not have an oven, though who wants to bake or roast when there is so much good food to be enjoyed in restaurants? It is equipped with all necessary utensils, a coffee machine, toaster, and microwave. One piece of advice: beware of the kitchen cabinet corners if you are of adult size! I've got two bumps on my head still!
The beds are very comfortable, with good quality linens. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a sink. The toilet is separate. If there is one item missing in the apartment, to make it perfect, it is a small mat in front of the toilet. It's a waker-upper when one comes out of a comfy, warm bed, in the middle of the night, and feels the cold ceramic floor beneath one's feet. I'm sure that after reading this, Elisabeth will get the warmest, fluffiest mat available by the time the next guest arrives!
I don't know about the TV. We never turned it on, but it is a good-sized, flat screen one.
There are so many good restaurants in the area that I will abstain from mentioning them. Elisabeth will offer assistance if asked; she did for us, and we did well following her advice.
Elisabeth was a thoughtful host
The apartment was fully equipped for normal living; there were even electrical adapters and several travel guide books available. The wifi worked perfectly which was very important to me since my work depends on it.
The apartment was quiet but well placed with an eclectic choice of reasonably priced restaurants and close to subway stops.
Great location and nice clean apartment
I don’t want to brag about it much because I want the apartment to be available for me again!! We had such a good time. The only inconvenience for some people would be that the apartment is on the 4 th floor with no elevator so if you can’t climb the stairs don’t rent it other than that everything was pristine. Elizabeth is such a gracious hostess. Loved her. Thank you so so much! I definitely go back to the same place if available.
The apartment is situated near the metro and RER station Denfert Rochereau. It is a direct line from Gare du Nord if you are travelling by Eurostar or by Thalys. If you are travelling by plane, there is a direct RER rail link from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and a direct bus from Orly airport. The railway station Montparnasse is also nearby if you are coming from the west or from the south-west of France or if you wish to go further afield to Chartres. Paris itself, not including the suburbs, is relatively small and from the apartment - as I have already mentioned - you can reach most major tourist attractions in less than half an hour. The nearest metro stations are Denfert Rochereau and Gaîté. Denfert Rochereau is 550 m away and about a 6 minutes walk, Gaîté is 650 m away and about 7 minutes by foot. Euro Disney is easily reached by RER B and A or by car (motorway A4).
