About this property

The Hostel @ Hideaway Point

All three of the homes on our property are hidden in the forest - but conveniently located with quick access to adventure and shopping - 10 minutes from the quaint mountain town of Bryson City. Our website has a link to the guide book with additional information about activities in the area.

The newly renovated Hostel was named to capture the ethos of a European travel experience. In 2005 Ben and Liz hiked across England, staying in small town youth hostels along the way. They love the community that is fostered around the table in different parts of the world and are excited to bring an upscale taste of “Hostel life” to Hideaway Point. The Goodgames believe in the connections that will be made at this special place in Bryson City, North Carolina.

The Hostel is the perfect house for a group of friends that want to connect but also enjoy having personal space for rest. This newly renovated home has four beautiful (hotel style / ensuite) rooms upstairs and shared living space downstairs. Please see our photos to better understand the unique beauty of this mountain home.

We would love to answer any questions you have about the Hostel or our other two homes at Hideaway Point (The Holiday House and The Hideout). Search to find us - schedule a phone call about the property or area today.

Our hospitable groundskeeper Sarah lives at Hideaway Point with her two (well behaved) labradors and an assortment of interesting aquarium pets. Sarah's apartment is attached to the Holiday House (next door to the Hostel - see aerial map). She is a wonderful resource in our Bryson City community - a curious learner, who loves the outdoors and education in experiential contexts. Sarah is available through VRBO. We are thankful for the value she adds to our Hideaway Point team.

The Hostel is one of three homes that are nicely spaced out on the Hideaway Point property (see aerial map on photos). We have a (gradual slope) gravel road with easy access during the winter. Lots of parking in front of the house (see photos).

There is no access to the bedrooms from inside the first floor of the house. All bedroom access is by exterior outside stairways. During inclement weather, you might appreciate having umbrellas to go back and forth between the 1st floor and the 2nd floor bedrooms. There are usually a couple floating around the house but it's always a good idea to bring extras.

The Hostel (like all of the kitchens at Hideaway Point) is well stocked with tools you will need to prepare almost any meal. None of our Hideaway Point kitchens are stocked with baking needs, condiments, oils or spices. For large group meals - search to learn more about utility kitchen at The Hostel.

All of our bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner & body soap dispensers. We are a proud supporter of eco-friendly brand “who gives a crap” toilet paper.

Cell service can be spotty depending on your provider. Verizon works well. Googl GPS is accurate while WAZE often leads guests to the wrong address.

This home has an additional space that is available exclusively for large group retreats and reunions. The kitchen prep room at The Hostel was designed to accommodate the meal prep needs of large groups. You can see photos and learn more about that space on our website.

Great Property!
I highly recommend the Hostel at Hideaway Point for any group looking for a clean, easy check-in, relaxing stay in the mountains. My family and I had a wonderful time and cannot say enough good things about the property. My favorite part was that every room had code access, so there was no worrying about leaving, hiding, or finding keys. So easy. Also, each space has its own AC unit, so each room can be tempered to the person staying there, so convenient. The property is a bit tricky to find the first time (especially at night, ha) but Lisa's instructions, if you read them carefully, are spot on. Thanks again for having us!

So relaxing
We usually take a group trip to Gatlinburg at the end of February and wanted to go somewhere different this year. We enjoyed the outside area so much. It was so relaxing to sit by the fire pit and just chill. The decor was so bright and welcoming. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean. I feel in love with the towels and wash cloths. Very high end quality.
