My husband, a native Tennessean, and I, a Mississippi girl, met in Nashville, TN where we both were attending Trevecca University. Though we did not grow up in the mountains, we’ve fallen in love with those SMOKY MOUNTAINS of East Tennessee. While celebrating our wedding anniversary a few years ago in a log cabin around Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, we decided to buy some cabins. We did; and, we’ve not been sorry. We book ourselves in our Majestic View cabins as often as we can. Our kids & grandkids love to go. We hope you’ll enjoy our cabins, and will keep coming back year after year.
Charles & Bess Kirby purchased this cabin in 2005
We chose to buy vacation rentals in the great SMOKY MOUNTAINS, because of the natural beauty, the National Park, the black bears, the high mountain views, and the endless recreation possibilities.
When we're at our cabins, we enjoy seeing the sights, taking in some of the shows, eating out at the great restaurants, looking for those black bear or deer, driving in the National Park looking at the majestic vistas, shopping at the outlets, & relaxing on the deck. We've even hiked in the National Park; in fact, there's so much to do, you just have to experience it for yourself.
My boyfriend and I loved this cabin for a relaxing mountain vacation! I loved sitting out on the porch sipping on my coffee in the morning just like the description says. We stayed in Snuggled Inn, which had a lovely view, but the view from the Stargazer Cabin looked more open. It was just the two of us, but the cabin could easily fit more. I loved having lots of kitchen utensils available. If you do you use the oven, be aware that it heated up a lot faster than our own stove at home which resulted in a crispy dinner, but just keep an eye on it.
The process of booking was so easy. And when our receipt didn't arrive in the mail Bess emailed us a copy the next day to make sure we had it in time. We arrived later than expected, so it was dark out which made me nervous, but Google Maps took us directly to the cabin and Bess' detailed map was also extremely helpful. Cosby was a good spot for exploring the park. We absolutely loved the Carver Apple Restaurant, just 5 minutes away. If you're into hiking, check out the Big Creek trail in North Carolina, but just a short drive from the cabin. The leaves were just starting to change colors when we left, so now we're already planning ahead for our next visit!
First of all go past where your GPS says it is! A beautiful cabin, nicer than some houses. Had a great response from Bess she's really sweet.
Everything just like pictures or nicer, the central A/C was wonderful. Flat screen TV, dish and Blu Ray.
Really enjoyed Great Smoky Mountains. Just a short drive from cabin to many attractions. Wonderful Apple restaurant and Farmers Market just down the road. Will highly recommend.
My wife and I stayed at the Stargazer cabin for 8 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view, clean cabin. My wife loved the kitchen. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Thank you Charles and Bess !
We stayed at the cabin called "Snuggle In". While we would agree with the previous 5 star glowing reviews concerning views, accessability and cleanliness (one exception later); We find it disingenuous to not mention the flaws. There is no rental anywhere with everything that is perfect.
We dislike being the "bad guys" to mention what previous reviews did not, but here goes!
About that cleanliness, when we arrived the cabin had been well cleaned, vacumned, dusted, everything in place, but the cleaning crew missed a glaring and disgusting problem. The sheets in BOTH beds had stains.
While the website for the cabin mentions a DVD player, there is no such animal. There is no dining table, one must sit at a kitchen island on stools. While the website pictures padded stools, again there was no such thing, we were uncomfortable eating our meals on very hard and unforgiving seating.
The discomfort continued while sitting in front of the tv on a black leather sofa that has seen better days. It provided little support and both of us are lightweights. It sagged so badly that we had to sit on pillows to lend support and keep us off the frame underneath.
After 10 years of rental history, the owners could have a near perfect rental if they would put some of the profit back into the cabin, ie: padded stools and a new sofa, and new sheets.
Two other things to mention, if you are going in colder weather, the heating system works better than any I have encountered prevously. Between that and the fireplace with lots of wood left for your use, you will be nice and cozy.
Also, if you have a large vehicle, ours was a pickup truck, do not rent "Snuggle In". It was impossible to turn our vehicle around after pulling in without using the driveway to the other cablin and if that drive happened to be filled you would have to back your vehicle down the narrow tree lined drive for several hundred feet. Choose the cabin "Stargazer" the parking is much friendlier.
My husband & I stayed at "Snuggled In" for seven nights. The owners were so accomadating & pleasant to work with. The road that led to our cabin displayed beautiful scenery. When we arrived at the cabin, once inside I was struck by the cozy warm feeling as soon as we walked in, & it smelled wonderful! The living room & kitchen were open to each other, which I liked alot. The two bedrooms were roomy & comfortable, & the bath & 1/2 perfect. I liked that all the rooms were on one level. Outside there was a covered porch than ran the length of the cabin & along one side. There was a swing, two rockers, & other available stacked seating as well if needed. The view was mostly wooded, but still beautiful. At night we would sit outside & listen to all the sounds of nature. This cabin is a gem, I would absolutely come back for another visit. I am so glad to have found it! Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Kirby for sharing your lovely cabin!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at our wonderful cabin. Perfect for us as we appreciated the quiet, majestic views of the Smoky Mtns from the back deck. Wonderful sounds of the wildlife surrounded us which was a real treat for us. Although very private, you're still close
enough to popular towns such as Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Definitely the best prices in the area. And the owners are just as sweet as can be and easy to work with. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
