Comfortable, clean, private duplex, just 15 minutes from Marquette.
Surrounded by woods and next to Camp 4 Road (a gateway to snowmobiling, overlanding, and adventure mountain biking), this is a perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a gateway to adventure or a tranquil place to stay while still being just a few minutes from all that Marquette and the central Upper Peninsula have to offer.
You’ll enjoy high speed WiFi, in-unit washer and dryer, a well-appointed kitchen, and more.
The Space:
This comfortable, clean, private duplex connects to the other unit through a garage, so you have privacy and silence.
While it doesn't fit into any hip description of style or trendy architecture, it's well maintained, wonderfully comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful Upper Peninsula woods.
The living room has two couches (one of which is a queen fold-out sleeper sofa), a coffee table, a smart TV, and a dedicated work desk. The drawers under the television have a variety of games and other fun things to do if you're stuck inside on a rainy or snowy afternoon.
The kitchen has a table to seat 6, a full-size range and oven, stainless steel sink, full-size refrigerator, and ample selection of cutlery, silverware, pots, pans, strainers (we stayed in an vacation rental without a strainer, once...), and cooking essentials. Coffee, tea, and a few basic instant meals (think ramen) are provided to tide you over until you can get to a grocery store.
The full bathroom has towels and wash cloths for 6, a basic assortment of toiletries, bug spray, med kit items, and other essentials.
The master bedroom has a king bed and a second smart television, along with a large closet, iron, ironing board, ceiling fan, oscillating floor fan, and laundry basket.
The second bedroom has a double bed, smaller closet, oscillating fan, and children's toys and books.
In the unfinished basement, you'll find a full-sized washer and dryer.
The backyard has a small deck, propane grill, and fire pit, all of which are shared with the other unit.
There is paved parking for one car in front of the garage, along with ample parking in the gravel, plowed areas for other vehicles and trailers. The driveway is a pull-through, U-shaped drive that connects with the neighboring duplex, making it easy to manage a snowmobile or 4-wheeler trailer.
The internet is a 300 MBPS symmetrical fiber optic connection that's distributed by a WiFi router. If you're looking for a serene place to work remotely, this is it!
Guest Access:
You have private, full access to the entire 2-bedroom, 1-bath duplex unit, including the unfinished basement with your own washer and dryer.
The garage is between the two units in this duplex, so there isn't a shared wall between you and the other unit. Please note that you do not have access to the garage.
The driveway, deck, backyard, propane grill, and fire pit are shared between the units.
Other Things To Note:
Most importantly, we know you're on vacation and are paying a modest cleaning fee. We'll ask you to wash your dishes and clean up any real messes in the kitchen, but we'll do the rest.
In the winter, we hire out the plowing and snow clearing. Our plow guys are fantastic and get to us as fast as they can, but there may be times when there is some notable snow on the ground before they arrive. The same goes for Yalmer Road. The house is about 9 miles from UP417 via Camp 4 Road (unplowed) and Mangum Road (plowed), and 11 miles from UP8 via Yalmer Road (plowed) and North Lawson Road (unplowed). Many of our snowmobiling guests ride directly from the house when conditions allow, but some prefer to take their trailers to the trailheads each day, too.
The house is surrounded by beautiful, peaceful Upper Peninsula woods. We work hard to keep the residents of those woods outdoors where they belong, but you may encounter bugs, spiders, and furry friends. Mosquito season peaks in late May and June; we offer bug spray for our guest's convenience. We also have a perimeter rodent bait system around the foundation that does an excellent job of keeping mice out of the house. You're most likely to encounter a mouse in September and October when they're actively looking for places to spend the winter.
The house is about 15 minutes from Marquette, 20 minutes from the hospital, 25 minutes from the NMU campus, and 45 minutes from Munising and the Pictured Rocks. It's a wonderful gateway to adventure and exploration in the U.P.!

My boyfriend and I came to Jeremy’s place and there ended up being a pretty bad blizzard. Jeremy was very attentive, kind, and understanding during those few days. He went above and beyond for us, which we really appreciated, especially while being away from home. The house was clean and had everything we needed. It is close to Marquette, but not right in the city, which was perfect for us!
House was very clean, comfy and well stocked with essentials.

Host was helpful and on the spot when arriving. Home had everything we needed. Table was very wobbly, but my husband tightened it up. Faucet handle in shower needs replacing. Overall nice placeLocation to snowmobile trails not ideal. At least 10 miles to access the trails. Difficult to get in driveway with truck and trailer.

Thank you for staying with us, Jan. We’ll check the bathtub faucet for future guests and appreciate your husband lending a hand with the table.
We specifically state that we’re 9 miles from UP417 and 11 from UP8, and provide directions to each in the VRBO property description. I’m sorry that the location didn’t meet your expectations.
Had a quick stay in Marquette and I was so grateful to stay in a clean, calm environment while I was there! Thanks for offering this space.

Extremely homey stay in this cute duplex! Keyless entry and so many amenities if you forget last minute things! Laundry option was a life saver and cute back porch made for a peaceful night to unwind. Games for my kids, rollaway cot, extra towels, and fans they have it all! Would absolutely come back here again, extremely clean!
