Enjoy our Cozy Cabin in the old mining town of Tin Cup, Colorado. Located just below the Continental Divide, it is a perfect place to bring the family or spend time alone without the intrusion of computers, TVs or phones.
In the summer, hike, bike, fish, explore old mines or look for the Moose that live in the area; within 20 minutes you can raft, horseback ride, rock climb or rent a boat and spend the day on Taylor Reservoir. Friday nights offer the unique opportunity to join others for an old fashioned square dance. Frenchy's, the only restaurant in town, serves breakfast/lunch from Memorial Day to Labor Day and is famous for their homemade pies. You'll mostly want to cook over the outdoor fire pit or on the original wood stove in the cabin.
Unfortunately, we do not rent the cabin in the winter months.
This is truly an amazing experience!
Our family loves Colorado and all it has to offer. We live in the mountains, but enjoy getting away to our family cabin as often as possible
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2001
It is a very unique little old mining town just below the Continental Divide. Our cabin sits on the edge of town looking up the valley with breathtaking views. We love the serenity and the fact that we can use the cabin year-round.
For us, spending time with our family without the interruptions of computers, TVs or phones has been such a blessing. We play games and spend quality time with each other.
Drove all the way from Florida for this one......We loved this little cabin!! Our friends came up from Santa Fe for a few days. We drove our old '65 Land Rover over to St. Elmo, hiked to the old graveyards, went down to the old church for the Saturday night dance with the locals....true Americana. The wood burning coo stove was the high point, once we got the hang of it, we cooked every meal here! The Tipi was very cool, next year the grandkids will camp in it!
We absolutely loved this little spot of heaven!!! The view is better then you could ever imagine!!! If you're looking for a place to unplug and unwind, this is your place!! We spent a week here in July and are already booking for next year!!
My husband, son and I stayed here for a week in June/July 2014. We specifically looked for a cabin to use as base camp for ATV riding in Taylor Park. Since we could access the trails from the cabin without trailering our ATV's, this cabin was perfect. Once we arrived, we were overjoyed. The cabin is perfectly rustic, quaint, cozy, quiet and homey. We loved the absence of TV, phone, and internet. We had bonfires at night and played board games and horse shoes. We rode over 400 miles of trails during the day. We fished the beaver ponds and even had a moose and her baby get within 50 yards of the cabin! The owners have everything you need; just bring groceries. The owners are very accommodating and answer all questions promptly. We will return to Tincup!
We loved this cabin, and the little town of Tin Cup! Quiet and peaceful. We walked throughout the town and up to the old historic segregated graveyard, drove our Jeep up to Mirror lake, and experienced the 4x4 trail to St. Elmo! The town folks had an old fashioned dance at the old meeting hall, Americana at its best, right out of National Geographic. The best cabin experience, we fell in love with cooking everything on the old wood-burning cook stove!! We plan to return soon, and bring grandkids, who will get to sleep in te loft and the real Tipi!! Don't change a thing!! Thanks!!
My family and I enjoyed our weekend at the cabin. We had a great time exploring the area. The kids liked being close to water and having a camp fire.
This is a wonderful Cabin, The pictures do not do it justice , The view from the back yard is one of the Best in Tin Cup. As our base of operation with ATV's it was fantastic. Everyone should experience cooking on a wood fired stove I fell in love with this place .Not much more you could ask for, A great combination of modern and primitive together, If you are scared of cooking on a wood fired stove just bring an electric skillet, or a hot plate because everything else is there. So very happy this nice family opened their cabin to us Hope to get to visit again.
