About The Owner

Property has been in the family over 40 years. We are second generation owners. We take great pride in keeping the property clean and neat.

Why The Owner chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

Lake Tahoe is truly a year around vacation paradise. Summer weather is ideal, seldom getting above 90 degrees. Fall colors are wonderful! Winter wonderland with skiing from slopes where you can view one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Springs are cool, with the melting snow filling the creeks. A true wonderland!

What makes this cabin unique

Property is close to many things to do. Hiking out the front door, sandy beach about 3 miles south. Alpine skiing 5 minutes in winter, and close to many more throughout the Lake Tahoe basin. Within walking distance to the trailhead of the world famous Rubicon Trail. Nevada casinos a short drive. Reno is about one hour away. Boat launching nearby. State Parks along the west shore of Tahoe.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin was perfect in every way. It is well kept, very easy to rent, and priced very reasonably. It is easily accessible off the main road (HWY 89), and located in a very quiet neighborhood. The owner, Mike, was a pleasure to work with, and made it so easy to rent (keys sent ahead of time, email explaining where everything was and how it works, notes in the cabin with excellent directions, etc.). Without a doubt the cabin was the most up to date and well equipped rental we have ever stayed in. Everything worked as expected, and we literally didn’t need to bring anything (including books, video’s, snow toys, plenty of linens, etc. – it even had electric blankets on each bed!). We will definitely recommend this cabin to our friends, and will stay there again in the future.

Great find in Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

We loved our snow week-end with our adult kids. The cabin was everything mentioned and more. Very well stocked kitchen ...The beds were super comfy and linens and towels were very nice quality. Lots of movies and great space to sit around and play games. Gas fireplace kept the place perfect along with very good central heat. We have been renting up in that area for 20 yrs. , this one is a keeper on the list.

Can't wait to see it in the summer also !

The street is flat and in a very quite neighborhood. We walked all around in the beautiful snow. Everyone was out walking and very friendly.

The owner was very easy to work with and gave us lots of good information. From directions to how to run things in the cabin. Made it very easy to figure things out.

Thanks Kathy & Bob

Owner's Response: Hi Kathy and Bob: Thank you for taking the time to review the cabin. We appreciate our guests' feedback since it helps us keep everything at the cabin in good condition and working order. The property has been in the family for almost 50 years (built in 1969), and has seen two extensive remodels since it was first constructed. We take pride in its appearance and try to make it as comfortable as possible for our guests. We look forward to hosting you again. Thank you for entrusting your booking to us. Mike

Clean cabin with attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

This cabin fit our two families perfectly! The upstairs was perfect for the kids and the kitchen was well stocked. We stayed during a storm, so lost power, but a gas insert kept us warm and we could still cook on the gas range. Lots of games (some were kept in the Master Bedroom closet. I did not notice until we were to leave). We did not use the television, so can't comment on that, but wi-fi was functional. Communication with the owner was easy and clear. If you get snowed in, be prepared to dig out. According to a neighbor, it can be a wait for the contracted snow removers to come when you need them. No fault of the owner, just how it is. Anyway, we enjoyed the novelty of it and the neighbor was really cool and removed our berm after the snow plow put it there right after we had cleared out the first one. Overall an awesome stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We appreciate your taking the time to let us know what you found enjoyable and what wasn't pleasurable. Snow removal is performed on a contractual basis with a service in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, your stay occurred during a minor storm and during the first year that the servicve is down to two family operators (the third passed away last May). I'm certain that they are working hard to get the kinks out during the severest winter The Lake has seen in decades. Thank you for booking with us. We look forward to you returning in the future. Mike

Highly Recommend this Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I normally don't take time to write positive reviews as often as I should. However, the entire experience in renting and staying at this cabin was so easy, straightforward and the cabin itself was perfect for our family. I appreciate the cabin is set up in a way that we didn't have to worry about logistics while we were there. All the instructions etc. are set up logically and straightforward. The cabin itself is wonderful. We had enough room to have privacy (with the split level) but it also has a wonderful family/living room which was cozy with books and video tapes/DVDs to enjoy. My 7 year old saw his first VHS tape there. : )

Although the snow conditions were marginal, we had a wonderful time bike riding and enjoying Homewood, Tahoma and Tahoe City. Great location, great cabin. Highly recommend.

Great Cabin

“Great Cabin”

We had a family gathering right after Christmas and this was a wonderful way to get away and have some time to spend with each other. The cabin was just perfect for us, we used the upstairs bedroom for family members who came for a short visit and the downstairs for the rest of us. The cabin was well equipped and we loved the detailed instructions for everything.

The beds were clean and warm, great heated mattress covers.
