This condominium has everything you want in a Santa Fe rental: magnificent mountain views, great location - close to everything, Southwest style, exceptional morning light, privacy and quiet.
Perched on a hillside on the third (top) floor of this well maintained condo complex, this unit faces the Sangre Mountains & Santa Fe Ski Basin. A wall of windows and French doors spans the width of the living and dining room focusing on the views allowing for a beautiful play of light upon the clouds and mountains at Sunrise and Sunset and throughout the day. The French doors open onto your private balcony spanning the width of the condo, again, with spectacular mountain and skyline views. The balcony is suitable for outdoor dining and relaxing. There is another condo building slightly to the right as you look towards the mountains from the balcony. This building obstructs the highway but it doesn't obstruct your view of the mountains.
The unit is well located -- a 1.4 mile walk or drive to the Plaza - the center of Santa Fe which has the attractions so many visitors come to Santa Fe to experience.
This unit is chocked full of Southwestern Style. Each piece of furniture has been handpicked to represent the rustic Mexican style unique to the Southwest. The art work tastefully reflects the surrounding landscapes and cultures of the Native Americans. The New Mexican latilla and wood beamed ceiling, stone tiled floors, and custom tile counter tops and splash-backs in the kitchen and bathroom are all Southwest features rarely found in rental condominiums in this price range. Even the door to the bathroom is a work of art in itself with hand painted panels from Mexico.

This is one of the quietest and most private units within Cielo Grande Condominiums. The unique top-floor location, at the end of the building, results in the best mountain views. Yet the unit is in a building set further back from the traffic than other buildings. Access to the condo is at the end of a breezeway on the top floor so no one is passing outside your unit trying to get elsewhere. Quiet & Privacy!
The DeVargas Shopping Center is three-tenths of a mile away for the convenience of longer term guests in need of the practicalities of day-to-day life including several well known local restaurants, Starbucks, Albertsons Supermarket, Save-On Drugstore, Office Depot, Post Office, a 'six-plex' movie theater, Hastings video and DVD rentals, as well as many other smaller stores and boutiques. Santa Fe Spa is a walk up the hill and offers some of the best workout facilities in town. Fort Marcy Fitness Complex & Pool is five minutes away by car, open to the public by the day, week or month and includes a full gymnasium, weights and aerobic equipment and indoor swimming pool.
Parking is right off 285/84 so commuters to Los Alamos, 'The Lab,' Santa Fe Opera, Taos, and other points north can completely avoid going through Santa Fe. Hop on 285/84 South, also known as St. Francis for easy access to the Plaza, Rail Yard District, Farmer’s Market, Museum Hill, and all that Santa Fe has to offer.
If you don't have a car, you can take the Sandia shuttle from the Albuquerque Sunport or the Railrunner train. They drop off and pick up at all hotels and B&B's.
It's possible to get around without a car, however it's a bit inconvenient. Renters who try to stay without a car end up renting one.
Santa Fe Pick Up is the free shuttle in town.

I'm an Osteopathic Doctor in my final year of residency in Kirksville, MO.
Walter Cohen purchased this condo in 2006
I love the southwest charm, location and size of this condo. I lived in this condo for a number of years. I loved being able to walk or bike anywhere anytime- to the plaza, farmer's market, coop, rail runner, cafes and restaurants. And I loved the view of the mountains.
The view of the mountains, kiva fireplace, french doors on the balcony, southwestern decor and extra window I installed overlooking the trees in the courtyard make the condo feel very cozy. Because of the special location in this complex, it always feels private.
Located on the north end of Sante Fe and with an amazing view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, this condo was full of Southwestern charm. Whether intentional or not, the unit is full of the iconic color palette and Santa Fe imagery you're sure to fall in love with.
Walter was excellent at providing pro tips to get the most out of our Santa Fe experience. From recommending restaurants with vegan options (which my wife and I both are) to making recommendations both off and on the beaten tourist path.
The best part was how easy it was to get around from this spot! We never felt more than a few minutes away from the Plaza and other iconic Santa Fe locations.
I would definitely stay here again and intervene myself in any conversation about Sante Fe to highly recommend this spot.
Thanks Walter, can't wait to come back!
We were very pleased upon arrival at the condo, everything was as advertised and met all our expectations. It was in a convenient location to everything in Santa Fe and very accessible. We had a couple of questions and sent a text to owner who responded almost immediately.
The only down side was that we could only stay 4 days. Beautiful little condo with a lovely view.
My wife and I visited Sante Fe in early November for an enjoyable, fall holiday. Walter's one bedroom apartment was a good value for us. It is conveniently located close to a freeway,, with a short car ride to downtown Santa Fe, an Albertson's supermarket, and CVS. Free parking in front of the building is a plus. The apartment was quite clean and comfortable, equipped with everything we needed for our simple breakfast of fresh fruit, toast and coffee we made each morning. There were pots and pans, glasses, dishes and utensils for more extensive meals if desired. Since the apartment is on the top floor of the building, the adjacent parking area, surrounding structures, highway, and Federal cemetery did not obstruct a view from the balcony of distant mountains. The climb up several flights of stairs (no elevator) provided us with some unexpected exercise each day, but since we were traveling light with little luggage, it wasn't a problem for us.
My husband and I stayed 9 days in Santa Fe at this lovely condo. We had many adventures from shopping and dining in historic down-town plaza, to hiking in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and also at Kasha-Katuwe (tent rocks) in the Cochiti Pueblo. We took a day trip with friends north to Chimayo, then on to San Ildefonso Pueblo. There is much history and art to see and experience. One of the best vacay's ever. We then came 'home' to this very well appointed condo to relax and unwind. Easy to prepare meals and cocktails while enjoying the mountain views. We enjoyed the lovely southwestern decor and felt right at home in every way! Hope to come back soon!!
Condo as advertised - very clean and well maintained. Walter stayed in touch with us via texting and provided good information for guests. We came to Santa Fe primarily to attend opera performances and found the location of the condo very convenient to that purpose. It took only 10 min on nearby freeway to opera house, but we could also walk to neighborhood shopping center and, a little farther away, to historic plaza.
This property is just right for two persons. The only inconvenience is
the lack of an elevator - OK for younger tenants but not for octogenarians.
However, the climb to the second floor is not difficult. The interior is
tastefully appointed. Shopping and restaurants are conveniently located
as is the drive to and from the opera house. The owners are most obliging
in every respect and provide excellent information about Santa Fe
in general. We would definitely return in the future.
