A warm and lovely cabin on a quiet lakeside surrounded by nature
It had all the basics we needed for a few days stay and was not inconvenient in any aspect. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed ice fishing and got pikes, perches, and walleyes. Questions were answered promptly by the hosts.
Fishing trip with my son (turned 18 while we were there) and dad. This is our 3rd stay at Wildcat Cabins. Little Fox was perfect for the 3 of us. Loved the little foxes throughout the cabin, nice towels and new cookware. The beds are comfortable, and Mary Beth is so nice to work with. My son caught a musky on Wildcat while we were there, had multiple sightings and got lures bitten off several times! We caught tons of fish on the islands at Wildcat. My hope is that someday all of these cabins have air condition because we seem to always catch a heatwave while we are there! We love it there and will be back. Thank you
The Little Fox Cabin is a lovely cabin situated on the shore of picturesque Kitten Lake about 4 miles north of Boulder Junction. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished and features a number of exceedingly useful amenities including a washer, dryer, toaster, microwave, coffeemaker, and cable/satellite television. The enclosed porch provides an elevated view of the firepit, dock and lake. Our party used the Little Fox Cabin as our home while we rode our bicycles each day on different segments of the Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail (the “Trail”), a paved, dedicated, 52-mile-long bike trail that runs between St. Germain and Mercer. The Little Fox Cabin is a perfect place to stay as it is located about 4 miles north of Boulder Junction, which is roughly at the halfway point of the Trail and therefore reasonably close to the other towns along its entire length. The Trail lies beside county roads affording riders the opportunity to stop for refreshment in towns, parks, and camping areas along the way. However, it often parts company with those county roads wending its way through woods and along lakeshores in splendid beauty and isolation. Finally, the terrain through which the Trail passes is either flat or gently rolling and thus provides excellent touring opportunities for bikers possessing a broad range of fitness and interest.
