Lovely place and great host.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Thomas for , being such a gracious host on our recent trip to Victoria. Your place was very clean and, even though small, it accommodated the 3 of us very well.

The beds were super comfortable and we had everything we needed. We especially loved the short walk to the Fishermans Wharf and looking out into your beautiful garden (wish we could see it in summer!)

Very good location.

  • 3 of 5

I had a pleasant vacation in Victoria. For a senior citizen, some of the electronics were inconvenient, but generally the suite was pleasant, clean and warm.

Owner's Response: Not only did I provide user manual for all of the "inconvenient" electronics such as induction hot plate and Apple TV, but I also showed the guest multiple times how to use them. I wish the guest would have left the induction hot plate as clean as it was upon arrival instead of leaving it covered in grease, not even wiped off.

Great cozy place to stay with a backyard full of lush green plants and fruit bearing trees, Tom is very hospitable and approachable man. We'll be planning for our next visit to stay for a week or more👍🦀🐳🐠🛳🇨🇦

Nice and clean unit

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean, stocked with toiletries, kitchen had everything you would need for heating a small meal, serving it, making a hot tea and such.

Pros: heated floor in the bathroom, close to the water, the owner is a nice person with a cute and friendly dog. Parking was never a problem, we could easily find a spot along the street. We went in January and we could heat the apartment nice and toasty as we like it.

Cons: The door that separates the owner's living space from the rental unit is frosted glass so you can hear the dog sniffing at the door from time to time. Suggestion: Maybe it would have been better to have a wooden door to help with privacy. Not a huge deal for us, though.

Overall, it was a nice experience.

Owner's Response: Fleka is a lab and a trained truffle dog, so wooden door would not help her sniffing. Strange that no other guests complained about my dog sniffing at the door. Maybe the guests were cooking something delicious so she could not help herself, ha.

Garden flat

  • 4 of 5

This is a charming location and the host is great.

I stayed there over the New Year's holidays for four days and Victoria was colder than normal but the bathroom does have a heated floor. The flat opens up to a garden and in milder weather the barbecue and patio would be fun. You can walk downtown in 25 minutes and there is also a bus that drops you off nearby. I would go back for sure especially with a bike. Tom, the host, is a very friendly person. The tiny kitchen is not exactly my ideal as i like to cook but it does have everything you need to make a meal, great for a short stay. The bed is really comfortable and the proximity to the water, a delight. I enjoyed my stay.

Not great!

  • 2 of 5

The living space here is really tiny! We knew it would be compact, but were still surprised at how small it was; although the bedroom is huge (strange utilization of the space!). The kitchen is stocked with a mishmash of unmatched dishes and cutlery, and was not particularly clean. The tiny bar fridge had not been defrosted in quite some time. The bed was ok, but the pillows were old and awful. Although we were disappointed with the accommodations, the location was handy - but a long walk to downtown and the inner harbour.

Owner's Response: The living space was adequately described and the guest knew that the living room was small. "mishmash of unmatched dishes" is not very helpful or descriptive, next time I will change it to this guest's liking if they give me design preference. Also, what does "not particularly clean" mean? Was it clean or not? I know it is clean and get compliments all the time on how clean it is. The fridge was defrosted about 3 weeks earlier. Two pillows were brand new memory foam pillows and the other two were regular new pillows. Is 15 minute walk to the inner harbour too long? The address was known and was also in the description. Since the guests were planning to have dinner outside, I provided them with a propane space heaters and outdoor furniture. It is impossible to please some guests.
