The Name
Located along the Monongahela River to the south of Downtown, the South Side is officially divided into two neighborhoods – the South Side Flats and the South Side Slopes.

One More Thing
The South Side Slopes has 68 sets of public stairs with a total count of 5,447 steps. Each October, the annual StepTrek takes "trekkers" to impressive city views.

Getting Around:
There are lots of ride share options but we do have free street parking. Please pay attention to signage.

Before we can confirm any booking, we do need to know:
1. What brings you into town?
2. How many people will be staying at the home?
3. Do you expect any visitors, if so how many?

We hosted thousands of guests across 10 states, with an average rating of 4.6 stars.

We do not have keys or access to our mailbox.

We do have Ring Cameras outside the property. Any blocking of the cameras will lead to an automatic eviction, forfeiture of security deposit, no refund and a fine. Please do not block these cameras.

HOUSE RULES

$500 fine for parties or smoking in the unit ($100 per extra person over what the reservation was booked for).
We do NOT allow late check out. There is a charge of $25/10 min after 11AM.
$250 for lockout fee
By booking with us, if there is any violation of our house rules, you agree to forfeit your right to leave any review.
NO OUTSIDE GUESTS (all guests must be included in reservation total) unless approved by host, $100 per unauthorized guest each night.
$500 fine per night for any unauthorized pets. This listing is not pet friendly!
If a security team is called due to an infraction of the house rules, the guest agrees to pay for the security team ($500 minimum) and the duration of the reservation, even if removed by the security team due to the infraction.
Please DO NOT flush feminine products/paper towels/any foreign substance down the toilet (ONLY toilet paper). It is not good for the pipes and if there is an issue we may pass the charge onto the guest.

Please no burning of candles, incense, or anything else in the home. If done, this will be treated as “smoking” in our house rules.

Adventurous

The stay over all was very wonderful, although it seemed funny that my wife says we have to have several jesus meetings getting to the property. If anyone wanted to stay in Pittsburgh Pa. and experience the whole Steel City life i highly recommend this property to stay at.

Plenty of space on quiet road

Owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. Lots of space, especially on the basement level. Great restaurants and shopping within walking distance, easy access to the city. Would stay again

The house is on a steep hill but Very clean and new! Everyone was very comfortable! The house had everything we needed.

House was OK but the upper bedroom on the second floor's bed. All the bolts are loose so we couldn't sleep in the bed. We had to put the mattress on the floor. There was no forks to eat with. There was no coffee pot for the coffee pot we had to use a mason jar and the trash was full wasn't empty. Other than that. I guess it was a good time.

Big spaacious

Cute and roomy house. Plenty of space for bigger groups. It has a nice size kitchen, table, and decent amount of cooking supplies. The location is at the very top of a hill so be prepared!

Great stay 5 stars!

House was exactly as described! Perfect set up for a large family or multiple families to share. Bedrooms were comfortable. Showers were stocked with all the necessities and plenty of towels. House had a very nice back deck with a beautiful view of the city lights. Street was surprisingly quiet. Kitchen was well equipped to make meals and breakfast. We will definitely look into staying here again. Highly recommend!

Swim team teammates

We had five adults and four girls. Came in to watch a swim meet at Pitt. We had more than enough beds! It was a close drive to Pitt. The owner was easy to correspond with. The house was perfect for our weekend. The street parking was a hoot! Practice your parallel parking 😂 it’s tight and on a very steep hill. My only suggestion to the owner is to get a few more glasses, mugs and silverware. That was really minor.

Great time with family

Our stay overall was good. The house is spacious and comfortable. The outside is receiving, and nicer on the inside than out. The house is set on a steep hill. The yard is all brush with woods behind. We did see deer outback which was nice. There were a few minor issues, with tub and ac/heat regulation I shared with mgmt, who was very responsive and accommodating. I do recommend the home for large groups.

Nice place near East Carson

We were pleased with the property overall. Didn’t realize the extent of the slope of the road leading and in front of the house but it wasn’t an issue at all. We walked to and from East Carson street multiple times. There were spotted lantern flies that were interesting to deal with but they don’t harm you. Just don’t let them in the house or your car.

South Side Slopes

We had a very nice time with 12 family members in this home. It is a little out of the way; up a large dead end hill. On street parking was fine. The home was comfortable and clean. We had a small maintenance problem but it was resolved within 24 hours. The kitchen could be stocked a little better with some newer cooking utensils, a mixer and a can opener. Hockey Tournament Weekend

We decided to try a VRBO instead of a hotel for our weekend. This house was centrally located to both rinks. Roughly 25 minutes from each rink. We didn't have much time to explore the city, but was well worth it. Price was excellent and neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe with 6 teenagers in tow with us. we had a blast and the boys will have some fantastic memories of the house and hanging together instead of being split up in a hotel. The owner was responsive and quick to answer a phone call or a email. House was well stocked with necessities and having the use of a full kitchen and washer/dryer was a huge bonus. We will look up this listing for future tournaments in the city of Pittsburgh. Thank you!

Extreme Dissatisfaction

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay. The house's atmosphere was unsettling, and its location at the end of the hill, with a street full of potholes and a closed road upon check-in, was initially concerning. Upon arrival, we found the house unlocked, and subsequent investigation revealed a malfunctioning lock. I contacted the owner and answering service, who recommended removing valuables when leaving the premises and assured me that a cleaning service would be dispatched to repair the lock. However, the late arrival of the cleaning service, around 10 or 11 PM, caused significant inconvenience. Moreover, I had concerns regarding the home's condition, particularly the stability of the foundation, which appeared to be compromised, resulting in uneven floors and doors that were off-hinges. Other issues included a toilet seat that showed signs of excessive wear and a heating system that was inadequate, with the downstairs area being cold and the upstairs area being overheated.

Good for large groups

Don't let the outside appearance worry you. The inside is tastefully decorated. We had 10 in our group and there were plenty of bed spaces. The living area was a little tight. 3 person sofa and 2 single chairs. Others had to sit in the kitchen area. 2 large rooms are upstairs. The bunk bed rooms are in the lower basement level. There is no bathroom on the upstairs level so you do have to go down the stairs in the night if needed. We had a couple of small hiccups. AC was off when we arrived and temperature was over 80 degrees. We weren't able to get the house cooled down until the next morning. The refrigerator didn't seem to work very well. Drinks did not stay cold. The fridge also doesn't have an ice maker so we had to purchase a bag of ice. But the location was only 10-15 minutes away from all the downtown locations we went and visited. I would recommend.

Convenient Location, Property could use some attention

We rented this property to so that two families (9 people total) could celebrate Thanksgiving together. Arrival was a bit hairy due to the property being at the top of one of the steepest hills in Pittsburgh, but we just took this as part of the adventure. Check-in was easy with the key-less entry. However, once we entered the property there were a few things that definitely didn't pass muster. There is only one sofa in the house, which is already challenging for large groups, but not a deal breaker. It IS a deal breaker, however, when half of the sofa has caved in and is unusable. We also discovered old food in the dirty fridge and freezer, hair on the floors, and pubic hair in the downstairs shower. Other things we noticed throughout our stay: the upstairs bathroom drain was clogged and needed to be plunged, there are no curtains on the windows in the bedrooms and the streetlights shine directly into the rooms making sleep very difficult, the temperature of the fridge was inconsistent and some of our food needed to be thrown out, the listing says it's good for groups, but there was not enough seating around the table and only a tiny, 4-cup coffee carafe, the property does not provide dish towels or dish cloths, and limits the number of toilet paper rolls and paper towels provided. We had to go out and buy additional paper products. Finally, several of the mattresses on the lower level were so uncomfortable it felt like you were sleeping directly on the ground!
