The cabin was impeccably clean and had a nice yard for the dogs. It was well stocked with everything you could ever need. The views were amazing and a nice, quiet neighborhood. Super convenient to Twin Lakes, Independence Pass, and Mt. Elbert forebay. Hidden gem for sure!
This property never disappoints. It is a very nice, clean house with good views of the lake. This is my fourth time staying at this cabin. Highly recommend
We were happy and comfortable in this attractive cabin. We appreciated all the arrangements that were made for our comfort, and especially loved the mud room with lots of hooks and storage area for our hiking gear when not in use.
Another great stay (5th year to stay in this cabin)
We never get tired of staying at this Twin Lakes property. We love this place and are looking forward to another visit next year. John keeps the cabin in great shape and it's always clean and welcoming.
Loved loved the area-first time in Twin Lakes. One hour to Aspen, Vail, Breckinridge. Close to charming Leadville. House was great-clean, well stocked comfortable! Would stay again!
This was a great cabin! Our family was very comfortable here. Very clean and a beautiful place. Wish we could have stayed longer. Kitchen and dining room area was fantastic! Great hummingbird activity on the deck!!!!
Clean, comfortable, adorable cabin in the trees with views of the lake. I especially appreciated the gluten free chocolate chip cookies that the host made for us. It was quiet, peaceful and the kitchen was fully stocked. My friend remarked that she’d never stayed in a rental with a kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook a gourmet, homemade meal. Thank you!!
We had a great stay and the Tree House Cabin had spectacular views and was a very cozy getaway. The host was hospitable ave had any and everything we could have ask for.
My wife and I stayed here for a week and loved every minute of our stay. The perfect location and most amazing views over the lake and the mountains. Loved the house and the bottle of wine and homemade cookies were a lovely touch. We loved watching the hummingbirds and the chipmunks run around. Thanks for a fantastic stay and we can’t wait to come back soon.
This cabin is beautiful, incredible views, very well stocked with supplies. Loved the updated green cabinets. Everything we needed for a peaceful getaway.
Perfect location for a quick getaway. Convenient for lake access. Home was well maintained and stocked with everything we could possibly need. Thank you for your personal touches!
The tree house was very well appointed and comfortable. The pantry was well stocked! The bed was comfortable, the appliances great! I thought there would be a more open view of the lakes and mountains from the deck, but one didn't have to travel far to find those views. Overall, the stay was great!

About the host
Hosted by John Stetson
We are empty-nesters with two grown children. We have finally realized our dream of owning the perfect cabin nestled in Colorado's most beautiful high-country. Our dog, Sienna, is our constant hiking and cross-country skiing companion. We love the Twin Lakes area year round - spectacular above-timberline hiking in the summer and champagne powder for skiing in the winter! Lake County has more cross-country ski trails than any other county in Colorado, and perfect conditions all winter! We can't stay inside, because there is too much to do outdoors!
Why they chose this property
We have stayed in vacation rentals all over Colorado and picked Twin Lakes because of its spectacular views and the availability of every type of winter and summer sport. We take advantage of music, art, and fine dining in Vail and Aspen and enjoy the historic charm of Leadville. Our cabin is a two-hour drive from Denver, which allows us to use our cabin frequently on weekends. The cabin feels cozy for just the two of us, but has ample space for our family gatherings. We aren't in a city--we are in the MOUNTAINS, and our cabin feels like a real getaway, far from the crowds, traffic, and chain stores/restaurants that have recently infiltrated other mountain communities.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy the best hiking and cross-country skiing Colorado has to offer! We are 45 minutes from Copper Mountain, where we enjoy down-hill skiing in the winter without any traffic. We visit Mount Princeton Hot Springs with its outdoor pools and spa services year-round. We visit Aspen for high-end shopping, fabulous music, gourmet restaurants, and people-watching.
