This cabin was very nice, very clean. Comfortable living areas for visiting, games, and good food. We really appreciated the little extras in the bathrooms and kitchen - things like make-up wipes, lotions and shower soaps tea and coffee, shortbread cookies. We would certainly stay again.
This home had everything we needed as a family of 5 with 3 young kids. The hosts were thoughtful and responsive, had great suggestions about things to do in the area, and they left welcoming touches upon our arrival (including information about altitude sickness.) The beds were comfortable, the decor is beautiful. I would return again someday. Highly recommend!
We were so impressed with the cabin and the location is so peaceful tucked in the woods. The cabin is well-appointed and the beds are very comfortable. We saw so many deer just hanging around in the woods. Sara was easy to communicate with and super responsive. Would definitely book this spot to recharge again!
Outstanding location. All things inside and outside the property worked very well. Even though it had been quite snowy, roads and entrance to driveway were plowed. Sauna especially welcome. When needed a couple of clarifications, contacting Sara led to very good and timely responses.Considering that the house itself is about 1,000 feet above the main road, even though this is something that people who have previously been at high mountains in the winter, only reachable by motor vehicles, do know, it might be a good idea to advise all people who will rent this house in winter, not only that they need to have a car with good tires and traction (for example All Wheel Drive), but ALSO, that the driver has experience driving on winter snow, and sometimes, icy, roads. (I am experienced, but saw and helped one other stuck, but in a still recoverable jackknifed position, to get out of the mess... that person had no experience in this kind of driving).
Some friends and I stayed at this great mountain getaway with the intention of finding a well cared for place to relax and recover in an environment that felt secluded while still offering access to nearby skiing destinations. This listing checked all the boxes and we were very happy with our stay.
The house has a nice layout, is well decorated, and stocked with all the items you would need for a getaway trip. There is a stocked kitchen (high end coffee maker crock pots, tupperware, outdoor grill, etc.), a full sized laundry room, plenty of entertainment options (board games, TV/movie watching access, a speaker for playing music, outdoor fire pit), crucial items for families (there were baby gates, a pack and play, etc.), comfy beds, and even a little work bench in the basement for tooling on skis or bikes.
It was also a great central location for getting to all the spots we wanted to ski in Summit County, while also venturing out to Monarch Mountain and all the backcountry access close by.
The road to the cabin was better maintained than expected, though I definitely recommend four/all wheel drive. It feels nice and secluded with nearby views from up high in elevation, but it's not too far from nearby Fairplay if you needed to grab something in town. We even saw a moose while driving through the neighborhood!
The owner was also great with communication and we had no issues checking in or out.
We would certainly recommend this place to others and will stay again ourselves if/when in the area.

Why they chose this property
Bristlecone Cabin is a perfect spot for families, couples, and friends to rest + recharge.
The kitchen has new stainless appliances, a crock pot, toaster, plenty of dishes + drink ware, and pots and pans for cooking. You'll also find stocked paper towels, napkins, spices, oils, sweeteners, coffee, and a selection of teas. Or, fire up the gas grill and cook outside!
The bathrooms have ample hot water, and are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryers, tons of clean towels, and extra paper products.
For families we've got a Pack and Play, High Chair, Games, Books, and Toys for the little ones!
We have a smart TV with all your streaming favorites, and high speed satellite internet (it really is remote) and a cell phone repeater to keep you connected if you want to be. There's also a dedicated work desk if you need it!
Relax in front of the gas fireplace, or gas fire table on the deck (by law there are no open fires permitted in Park County while at a STR rental).
If you need to do laundry use the large finished laundry room w/ full size washer/dryer - detergent provided.
If you plan to ski, we have plenty of storage in the heated unfinished basement for wet gear to dry, and there's a waxing station for a quick tune up!
If you're biking, use the bike stand and pump!
In winter, the driveway is continuously plowed + not steep (like many others in the area)
What makes this property unique
