We are fortunate to 'Live Aloha' everyday here in Maui and our goal is for our guests to 'Live Aloha' while they are visiting. Whether it's just another trip to Maui or the only trip you'll ever take to Maui, our mission is to make it special. Here's how we do that:
1) Check-in: We greet you upon your arrival at the Resort and personally check you into your suite. We show you where things are located within the Resort and also escort you to your room. In addition, we're there to show you where to register your car and where to park.(We don't have you pick up a key and then fend for yourself. (The front desk here does not check in VRBO guests.)
2) Service: We present each guest with a Welcome Aloha Package which includes a box of Maui chocolates, a bag of 100% Maui Grown Coffee, L'Occitane soaps, shampoo and a bottle of chilled champagne.
We also provide beach chairs and towels, boogie boards (good ones, not those Styrofoam ones), binoculars to watch the whales, free local and long distance calls to the Mainland U.S. and Canada, free wi-fi internet and the cleanest room at the Resort.
We are at the Resort all the time and live only 5 minutes up the street, so if anything should require our attention we are quick to respond.
3) Location: Our unit looks over the palm trees not thru them. Our Studio is 595 sf and located in the inner courtyard. With us you rent unit 733, you don't rent a category and find out what you get when you arrive at the front desk. With us you get actual pictures of the unit and the actual view from the unit. We don't zoom in with our photos.
Please compare to 1 bedroom units, there is only one stack of 1 bedroom units. (700 sf)in the inner courtyard in either building.
4) Price: We offer the most competitive price. Some units may be a little less expensive, but you will not have the location or the view or the service.
Other things to consider:
-25% TO 35% OFF RESORT MANAGEMENT RATES and all the SERVICE you'll need for a great getaway.
-No worrying about when the maid service is going to interrupt your day.
-We personally supervise the cleaning of this unit.
-Use of swimming pool, exercise room, concierge service, bell and valet service and
-The Staff at Honua Kai will treat you like your sitting in the first class cabin.
-Charge all resort costs on your credit card.
-For those guests who have stayed in other Maui condo's, you'll say to yourself 'The condos in Maui are so old that I forgot what brand new feels like. It's as nice on the inside as it
is on the outside'. We want you happy and we want you back!
HONUA KAI- 'Honua' is translated from Hawaiian as the planet earth; it can also denote firm, stable ground.'Kai' is the South Pacific Ocean as seen from the shores of Kaanapali disappearing beyond the horizon, past Molokai and Lanai, and into what ancient Hawaiians called the 'Great Sea of Eternity'

We use a mainland phone number for convenience. We will also help with your luggage if you'd like, but the bellmen are all real good guys and more interested in showing 'Aloha' then caring who you are renting from.
Parking is free for 2015, however that is subject to change for 2016.

We will accommodate early check-in or late check out when the schedule allows. We understand that many flights arrive late morning and that many flights depart late at night. We were regulars on that red eye to San Francisco.

Thank you to Joe & Rhonda for facilitating a wonderful 10 day getaway! From the initial inquiry to the end of my stay they were incredibly accommodating, including working with me on a late check-out. The condo itself is beautifully appointed with just about everything you could need. The view from the lanai is amazing and is sheltered from the afternoon trade winds. I have stayed at the Honua Kai in the past and had worked with a property management company. The personal touches (champagne, coffee, chocolate, beach chairs, boogie boards etc). and availability of both Joe and Rhonda will ensure that they will be the people I work with when I plan my next vacation (hopefully sooner than later)!

What an amazing week in Maui thanks to Joe and Rhonda. They truly provided all the amenities we needed to make our week so comfortable and relaxing, including an amazing view from our studio suite, room 733. Loved every minute of it.

We just returned from 5 nights in this well appointed studio. We lacked for NOTHING while we were there including stunning ocean views and warm trade winds right from our private lanai! Joe & Rhonda took great care of us from our first contact and were very accommodating of our schedule. We have stayed in Honua Kai before but not in an owner offered unit. What a difference. We were greeted by a chilled bottle of Champagne & 2 glasses waiting for us in the refrigerator which was a nice touch since we traveled all day to get there and arrived after the cut off for liquor sales on Maui (11pm). The next morning & day we enjoyed the chocolate covered Macadamia nuts & Maui coffee. It was nice to make a cup before heading out to the store in the morning. Throughout they stay we enjoyed all of the L'Occitane products provided (soap, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and make-up removal kit). We felt like we were in a high end hotel! We enjoyed many other amenities also provided on the property including the newly renovated pool at the Hokulani tower which includes 2 hot tubs and is beautifully lit at night. Snorkeling right in front of the property was phenomenal especially when we took some local advice & went a short way down the beach to the left down by the jetty. The walking path along the beach provided not only easy exercise but a way for friends who stayed down the road to join us for diner & drinks at Duke's on our property. All in all this condo provided us with all the Maui Magic we were looking for & more!

Just returned from our trip - absolutely perfect!!!! Joe was great to work with, and the property was lovelier than described.
Just returned from our trip. Everything is as advertised except one thing. There is a coral reef right off the shore in front of the condo. Bring snorkel. You will see nice reefs, abundant tropical fish and sea turtles on a daily basis. We had a blast! Beautiful beach. Clean unit with great view of the pacific. Sunsets are outrageous. Mai Tai's at Dukes are great and food is better than adequate. The location is what you go for!
Thank you for a wonderful stay at Honua Kai! We just recently returned from a 5 night stay in this studio. The studio was perfect, had everything we needed and was immaculately clean. Joe/Rhonda made sure we had everything we needed and even though they were out of town the day we arrived, they saw to it that every last detail was taken care of, someone was there to help us check in, and they followed up with us the next day.
If you are traveling to Maui, Honua Kai is the PERFECT place to stay as it's just a short drive from over-crowded Westin/Hyatt/Whalers area and so much more "resort-like". You still get all the same great benefits as if you were staying at the Marriott/Westin time share...but better. When you rent with Joe and Rhonda they are on the island and available to you to answer any questions or help if anything should arise. You never have to fight for a lounge chair by any of the gorgeous pools here (or worry about saving one)...and you are just steps from the beach! Dukes is right on property for a quick bite to eat and rarely has much of a wait. They will also serve you poolside if you want. Renting through Joe and Rhonda also ensures you will have everything you need to pack up and go for a beach day too, chairs, cooler, etc...all in your unit.
This was our first trip to Maui where we were SO IMPRESSED with the property/service (and we've rented several VRBO condos/timeshares in Maui) that we re-booked with Joe and Rhonda for a future trip right away. We can't wait to return and can't recommend working with these owners enough! If one of their units are open for your desired dates, book it - you will not be disappointed!
