Located just three short blocks from the French Quarter on Pauger Street, this Creole cottage, built in 1829 has a total of four SPACIOUS rooms. A feature of Creole cottages is that there are NO HALLWAYS, and all rooms are connected. Street parking is available but we cannot always guarantee it.
The first room features a queen-size sofa sleeper which provides extra sleeping space. The original 189 year old long leaf pine floors have been refinished to add to the beauty of the place. There are 2 reading/conversation areas, and a nice fluffy shaggy rug. A new window unit with both AC/heat controls will keep the room cozy all year round.
The second room is the large bedroom with a TALL king-size bed (ironed sheets and pillow cases), armoire, bedside tables, cable TV, bedside rugs and the same beautiful flooring. PLEASE NOTE: Please help us maintain our lower prices. No color hairspray or fresh dye is allowed on the bed - it stains the sheets and covers. Thank you.
The third room has a round dining table/chairs, an iMAC (with WI-FI), AC unit, and a small reading nook.
NOTE: NO GUESTS ARE ALLOWED TO STAY OVERNIGHT WITHOUT PAYMENT.
The kitchen is a bright green color to "wake you up" in the morning. Small appliances (toaster/oven, microwave and coffeemaker) are furnished along with coffee and tea. The full-size stainless steel refrigerator has an icemaker. The kitchen sink has built-in drain boards and has been stripped down to the original finish.
The bathroom's tile floor and shower have been redone. Toiletries and towels, along with bathrobes will be provided. A hair dryer is part of those amenities.
Outside the kitchen is a private courtyard with lush tropicals, table and chairs, and a large private CLOTHING OPTIONAL hot tub. THE TUB IS FOR PAYING GUESTS ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS.
Being part of our home, this SMOKE FREE/CANDLE FREE rental unit is ADULT ONLY (Gay Owned, Straight Friendly). ALL PERSONS MUST BE 25 YEARS OR OLDER. SORRY, WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE CHILDREN.

We had a wonderful weekend in New Orleans and our accommodations were perfect!
We had a great introduction to the wonderful hospitality of New Orleans. Mark and Ron welcomed us and gave us many recommendations for food and music. Our place was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and the outdoor patio area was the icing on the cake. We will be back! This place is a gem in a great city. Thanks for the warm welcome and hospitality.
Way better than we expected!!!
My wife and I just got home from an amazing vacation in NOLA and we did our research before we booked our home away from home. We can across Ron and Mark's home and it looked amazing. What we experienced was 100% better than that. The home is incredible and it is full of history and charm. Ron met us the day we arrived and gave us all the history of the home and all the nuances of the home. My wife and I sat there and just wondered about all the history this little home had within the walls. So much of the home is still maintained as it was almost 189 years ago but it has the luxuries of being a modern home as well. Ron was amazing! He provided so many great tips and places to go and see in the short three days we were there. We highly suggest this home as a place to stay when visiting NOLA and we know for a fact that we will be coming back to visit. It was much more than what we expected. Simply amazing!!!
We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay or more helpful, pleasant hosts!
My husband & I have wanted to visit New Orleans for years and finally were able in April 2018. We looked and researched for many months and I'm so glad we found this gem and its wonderful hosts! We couldn't have been happier with our choice.
When we arrived we were immediately greeted by Ron & Mark! They gave us a tour of the house and lots of tourist info ...even insider info as where as should and shouldn't go and WHEN. They were there for any questions we had and never once were we bothered, they are truly perfect hosts!
First let me say, I'm super picky about cleanliness and I was not disappointed when we were graciously given the tour of our little home away from home. This perfect little shotgun home was everything we expected. A very clean, comfortable & perfectly located (in walking distance to everything NOLA has to offer) home with everything you will need while on vacation. The beautiful king size bed is fit for a king and queen with amazingly comfortable linens...you couldn't ask for anything better! It actually made it hard to want to get motivated some mornings. The outside is a secluded oasis with a wonderful hot tub and a place to sip coffee in the morning... such a wonderful way to relax in the evenings and get started in the mornings!
As we did rent a car, we honestly did not need it! This home is in a great location even if you choose not to walk, there are several other affordable means of transportation. Streetcars and pedaled rickshaws are readily available for a fun alternative!
I just can't say enough good things about this place and these hosts. They made our stay so perfect we are definitely planning another trip in the near future and I wouldn't stay anywhere else! A+++
Perfect!!!! Could not have been any better!
We loved our first trip to NOLA! Ron and Mark played a huge part in making our visit perfect? We had searched for a rental with a great location and a king size bed. We hit a home run on both.
Mark was waiting outside for us when we arrived. He had even saved the parking spot right by the front door. Mark showed us around the cottage and gave us some local tips.
We walked everywhere or took the streetcar which was located just a few blocks away. We never moved our car the four days we were there.
The cottage is spotless and feels like home. Very quite location and we slept great in the comfy, big bed. The hot tub was great for relaxing after a long day of walking. We walked to the high end grocery, Roberts, and got a hot breakfast from their buffet each morning.
The last morning we got up and hit the road early since we had a long day of travel. After being on the road for an hour and one-half I realized I had left a very special and expensive necklace on the nightstand. I called Mark and while we were on the phone he went over and got the necklace. He was more than willing to mail it to me. We left on Saturday and I received my necklace on Thursday living several states away. In the box he mailed was my necklace, cell phone charger I left and our sweet departing gift. Now top that!!! Thanks Ron and Mark we will definitely stay here again when we come back!!
A Charming Apartment in a Great Location
We had the pleasure of spending four nights in Ron and Mark's lovely apartment in March. It was exactly as described, and had everything we needed for our short stay. Clean, comfortable, and completely charming overall.
Ron was very welcoming, and provided a great introduction to the neighborhood sights and sounds. We came to walk New Orleans, and that's exactly what we did - 35 miles in four fun-filled days and nights.
Our only regret was that we didn't plan a longer stay. We definitely want to return to see even more of Ron's beautiful city from his serene apartment. Highly recommended.
My husband and I returned to this wonderful place for a second year in a row. We hope to return for a third, fourth, and fifth stay in the future! Absolutely perfect location..with Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter in easy walking distance, we had no need for a car. Great music, food, and beverages all so close! The house is a beautiful, well-appointed, peaceful retreat in the heart of this amazing city. We so enjoyed the hot tub! Ron and Mark are the perfect hosts, offering great suggestions, very responsive, and always trying to be as accommodating as possible. We give them and this property our highest recommendation!
