This was our fourth time staying at Stephen’s cottage on the lake! The views never disappoint and neither does Stephen’s care as a host. The place was very clean and accommodating to our week-long stay. We would definitely return!

The lot is large and sets back from the road. The area is quiet and the lake is beautiful. A great location close to a lot of natural beauty. The owner is easy to work with and responds quickly to any issue. This is my third stay and a plus if you want to bring your dog. The cottage itself is charming with one bedroom and a pull out couch. A second guest cottage with one bedroom is included. The cottage is clean although this year it looks like it needs a little extra dusting (fan blades) mostly. I would love to return soon.

I had several planning questions prior to booking, and Stephen's communication was exceptional - prompt with many details, and he encouraged more questions, so it made planning much easier. This cottage is exceptionally clean, and it exceeded our expectations. Pictures and description are accurate, and the location is amazing. Not only is the cottage perfectly placed on the lake, but it is a beautiful walking distance (or 5 min drive) from Lake Michigan beaches. It is close to many great fishing spots, too. I grew up in Michigan and am familiar with the area - this cottage is so perfectly located to tour some of the most beautiful areas of the state. Most drives are under an hour, and some are only 15 min. Several pet friendly restaurants in the area, and you are also able to cook comfortably at the cottage. We did not have our dog with us this time, but we are coming back with her, and I know she will love it! Plan to keep your dog on a leash, as the yard is not fenced in. The views are amazing, and we can't say enough wonderful things about how organized Stephen is - his activity book at the cottage was so helpful, and his personal follow-up calls and messages to make sure we had everything we needed made our stay great. We highly recommend this cottage! We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked this place for a return trip!

Views from the house were breathtaking! Great location right on the lake and near the National Forest. The house was clean and the property was so well maintained. The host was very friendly and was available to answer all of our questions. Definitely will be planning a trip back.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely home in Honor Michigan. The lake was crystal clear with shallow waters extending out hundreds of feet. Our dog Cooper loved romping in the water too! The home & guesthouse were perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed a kayak trip on the Platte River through Riverside rentals. We took on the upper Platte in 4 hours. It was fun but very difficult to maneuver if you aren’t used to kayaking. We went to Sleeping Bear Dunes to witness the incredible dune that towers over Lake Michigan. We did not go down the dune as coming back up seemed a bit too adventurous for us! Highly recommend taking a look. We decided to check out Gravity Hill on Joyful & Putney Roads in Arcadia Michigan. What a freaky experience! A must see when you are visiting. Stephen, the owner was a delightful man. He was very accommodating and helpful. We want to return to this lovely home on Deadstream Road again next summer.

The location was perfect for our stay and getting to/from Frankfort for the Ironman race. The views from the house and deck were amazing. And having a coffee grinder available for our whole bean coffee was a nice extra (and I think a first out of all the rentals we’ve stayed in).
