Peaceful and serene...A perfect choice!

  • 5 of 5

Even reading the previous reviews while booking, this was a wonderful surprise, and an extremely good choice to stay here. Within a day of our stay, Leonard and Chrissie seemed like family - welcoming us to their guest home.

Chrissie and Leonard are wonderful hosts, and I too must echo many of the other reviews by expressing how friendly they are, and at the same time giving us all of the privacy that we desired... Sharing a glass of wine with them as they offered advice on places to eat and visit was delightful, watching them share their respect for each other - and for their guests was admirable. The cottage and grounds are so peaceful - the gardens, the kitties wandering around, the birds cooing and chirping, the many trees, flowers, sculptures and fountains provided for a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. Photos cannot properly capture the setting, but we would highly recommend this place for a quiet, romantic getaway when visiting Nassau (unless you prefer the hustle and bustle of a resort), the CATWALK provided the calm, peaceful (much needed) relaxing setting that we desired. We hope to return some day, and very much look forward to it!

Hospitality with a capital "H"- Catwalk and hosts rock!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I adored Catwalk and thoroughly enjoyed the Bahamas! Catwalk is a lovely, artistic, little cottage that we found perfect for two. We love the freedom of our own kitchen when traveling and a place to call home vs. a sterile hotel room and/or an an all-inclusive resort.

Chrissie and Leonard are the epitome of hospitable and gracious hosts. I echo many of the other reviews in much of what I have to say, but must I repeat it! C&L are gracious, friendly and intuitive with their interactions - wanting to ensure guests are comfortable and welcomed, while affording us all the privacy we may desire. They offered to share a glass of wine at the nicest of times, offered a ride to our half marathon at 4:45am (who does this??), and many other considerate touches. The cottage and grounds are gorgeous and peaceful - a garden setting like we don't have in the Northeast USA. Many, many trees, rock gardens, sculptures and birds - artistic and creative touches everywhere. Even more lovely than photos can capture. They have adorable and loving cats too, happy to visit as desired.

We did not rent a car; enjoyed walking and taking the local jitneys (buses) to wherever we needed to go. However, we were there when temps were mostly in the 70's. If it was much hotter, I would have wanted to rent a car, as a lot of walking would not have been so appealing.

By taking the buses, we enjoyed seeing some of the neighborhoods and more of the island, learning about local culture and interacting with Bahamians, who are gracious and friendly people - every single person we encountered.

We would highly recommend Chrissie and Leonard's Catwalk cottage and will definitely be back next time we are in the Bahamas.

Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Cozy & Totally Charming

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Leonard & Chrissie were very gracious hosts and allowed just the right balance of privacy (especially since the cottage is within a stone's throw of the main house) and hospitality. The cottage is small but perfect for 2 people and has tons of personality. Everything you need (and then some) is provided; phone for local calls, cleaning, air conditioning, beach towels, etc. If you're someone who wants 5 star accommodations and/or are not ok with renting a car and getting out & about to see the sites, keep looking. But, if you want a unique, homey getaway, book ASAP! Thanks again Leonard & Chrissie, so glad to have met you and hope to see you again. Tom & Clark

FAN - TAS - TIC !!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Catwalk and loved EVERY minute. The cottage is ideal for a couple wanting to escape and/or explore Nassau and New Providence. From the moment of our arrival to moment we left, Chrissie and Leonard were the perfect hosts giving us all the privacy we wanted as well as being available for assistance and information. The cottage is extremely comfortable and clean and came with all necessary amenities for settling right in. Maid service is available 5 days a week and include laundry service if desired. The grounds around the cottage were lush and full of birds providing hours of watching enjoyment. The pool was refreshing as well as for those balmy afternoons. For maximum convenience I would definitely recommend a car; restaurants, shopping and the beach are all within a few minutes by car but I wouldn't want to have to walk to them. Speaking of the beach, Montagu Bay is just up the road with an excellent white sand beach which we thoroughly enjoyed. A tip for parking in Nassau: there is a parking garage on Parliament Street (one block up from Bay Street). It is a bit pricey but parking is rather difficult on the street.
