RVA brings a drop of Naples, Italy to Longboat Key. The Ragland-Lewis Estate is hidden behind protective gates covered in local foliage. This secluded estate is comprised of the picturesque Ragland-Lewis Main House, the cottage-styled Ragland-Lewis Beach House, a pool and a carriage house. Once you drive through the gates, you have left the troubles of the world behind and entered your own private paradise. Vines climb the walls of the large main house, where French windows open along the second story to allow the warm Gulf breezes to flow in. Rustic, antique decor mixed with a modern flair transforms this vacation home to resemble a French Chateau with all the elegance and dignity of an aristocrat! The main house includes a spacious, two-story floorplan comprised of three-bedrooms, four-bathrooms and a library/den. Although smaller in size to the main house, and a bit more casual, the detached guest house is very spacious and includes a private entrance. The guest house, often referred to as the beach house, is comprised of two-bedrooms and one-and-a-half bathrooms. Just steps from the sand, the beach house is decorated in shabby chic decor with an unmatched location! If the property aesthetics of The Ragland-Lewis Estate aren't enough to have you packing your bags, this vacation retreat is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico with a private path leading straight to paradise. A property beachfront gazebo and pool top off this extravagant listing.

I don't think this home is stayed in often, so many things weren't working. When we first arrived one of the glass doors had been shattered, due to the landscaping company. Then we opened the pool cover and the pool was filthy, not sure the last time it had been cleaned. Someone came to clean the pool, which was nice, but the kids weren't able to enjoy the pool during that time. Then the pool cover broke and we weren't able to cover it, kind of stressful with a 2 and a 1 year old running around. Next the pool chairs broke. The back of the chairs had rusted and when my brother leaned back in the chair, the entire back fell to the ground. Thankfully he didn't get hurt, considering he was holding his one year old son. This house rents for a large amount of money, more than the homes we have rented in Anna Maria, Boca Grande, Marco Island. We were frustrated that we spent so much on renting this home, because we had to run out and buy toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, and any other basic necessity we needed because it wasn't provided. The rental manager was nice to work with and responded in a timely manager, which was great since I had to contact him regarding so many issues we had with the home. The location of the home was nice and it has a lot of potential but we wouldn't stay here again. Too expensive and too many stressors considering we were on vacation. One more issue is the tile on the roof of the beach house is falling off. A huge hazard.
