While the property is very nice, with tons of potential there were some challenges with the stay. First and foremost, it was expensive. We stayed at this property for 5 days and 4 nights. Aside from the architecture, landscaping, beauty and history of the property these were the deficiencies:
The town of Palm Springs has a lot of homeless people and drug addict types roaming the streets.
The air conditioning was a bit dated and did not cool the property effectively, and expelled insects on to the dining room table.
The grounds keeper showed up unannounced frequently, with all of the glass walls it was hard to not feel like you were being watched by the grounds keeper.
There was a small construction site nearby which introduced early noise and more traffic in the small neighborhood than expected.
The owner lives next door and had a direct pathway to the property via the landscaped paths. NOTE: We never saw the owner.
There was no hot water in any of the showers. Water was warm on a good day.
There were numerous cockroaches and grubs/maggots inside the house.
The gate is manual
The house had a "weird" smell, probably due to the cockroaches.
