Sobre esta propriedade
Le Havre du Canal at water's edge in Leclercville
Relax to the sound of waterfowl and the waves of the St. Lawrence River. This ancestral adorable homeand its large outdoor pavilion will allow you to live at a different pace. At the Havre du Canal, you feel completely elsewhere and alone in the world with its intimate spaceby the canal. Enjoy the pavilion with its hot tuband outdoor patio furniture set sheltered from the weather. The bohemian-style decor will help you switch off.
This house built in 1875 was completely renovated in 2022, highlighting its cachet of yesteryear with its original paneling. It is small, but everything is there. The full kitchen also includes a laundry area. The living room has a Roku smart TV (no traditional cable). It works only with the available applications (ICI Tou.tv, TVA+, Noovo, Netflix, Prime, Disney, etc.) using the home’s Internet connection. The bathroom has a bath-shower. The bedrooms are upstairs with a low wraparound ceiling. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a desk with a 24-inch monitorfor remote work. The smaller bedroom has two single beds.
A second building is closer to the water. The pavilion has three large openings equipped with magnetic mosquito nets in summer and transparent vinyl tarps in winter. A 4-seater spa that is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children is sheltered from the bad weather with a great view of the canal. A set of outdoor armchairs with coffee tables and a dining table with 4 patio chairs are also provided. A hammock chair hangs from the ceiling. A Bluetooth exterior sound system is available.
A fire pit is set up at the edge of the water with four Adirondack chairs to admire the many birds and the passage of ships in the distance on the river. A hammock is at your disposal.
A large Little Tikes game module is available to entertain your children.
You will have access to the entire property except for the basement, the attic, the maintenance closet and the attic of the pavilion.
The house is located in the heart of the village of Leclercville where a few dozen small ancestral houses make up this district which is very accessible to pedestrians thanks to its small, narrow streets of human scale. This neighborhood is one of the few places that gives us easy access to the St. Lawrence River along Route 132 in the region, while the majority of the surrounding villages are on top of cliffs. Leclercville peer and the island park at the mouth of the Chêne River are within walking distance from the house.
The neighborhood where the house is located can be walk on foot or by bike. There are a few shops easily accessible. A car is required to get to the Moulin du Portage and the surrounding villages (grocery stores, gas stations).
This home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, with nearby neighbors. It is ideal for couples, families, and travelers looking for rest, nature, and peaceful evenings. It is not suitable for stays where excessive alcohol consumption, noise, or evening activity could disturb the surrounding neighborhood. Respect for the calm atmosphere of the area is essential at all times.
The house is located on a narrow cul-de-sac typical of small villages, with neighboring residences close by. This proximity is part of the area’s charm and requires extra consideration for discretion, both outdoors and during arrivals and departures. Parking and access are designed for standard passenger vehicles only.
This house bears witness to its venerable age with its crooked walls and floors. This is normal for a 150-year-old house and it will suit those who appreciate ancestral homes with their little flaws of old age.
For water sports enthusiasts, there is a boat descent at the municipal wharf. The yard does not have a proper descent into the water, but it is possible to put a kayak or a paddle board in the water directly from it.
Some outdoor equipment may be unavailable during wintertime.
The hot tub is a 120V plug & play model that cools down when the cover is removed and once it is back on, it heats up slowly around 1 to 2 degrees F every hour.
Early check-in or late check-out is available when possible. A surcharge of $50 CDN will be payable for one or the other for a maximum of 2 hours.
Not suitable for babies (under 2 years old) as there are stairs and no safety gate.
There is a child's play structure that requires adult supervision of children.
4 exterior surveillance cameras record activity on the parking driveway, access to the yard on the canal side and on each of the exterior doors of the house. There is an interior noise measurement device.
There is a smoke and carbon monoxide detector in each bedroom, one in the kitchen and a 4th in the basement.
Normally a quiet neighborhood, but occasionally you can hear children from the neighborhood, the waterfowl during migration periods and sometimes recreational boats on the river. In the basement, the sump pump can be heard during high tides.
The accommodation includes steps or stairs. There are 4 steps to access the two balconies which allow access to the house. A narrow staircase inside provides access to the bedrooms upstairs.
The television does not include cable or continuous over-the-air channels. It only works through Roku applications with the provided Internet connection.
