About this property

Doublehead Lodge: family+pet friendly, net-zero luxury home with panoramic views

Relax and soak in the views at our serene Jackson retreat. With our brand new 2022 construction, net-zero home, with a wood stove, you will be comfortable no matter the season.

Our getaway has a fully-equipped chef's kitchen with two dining areas and three porches-each with unique views (2 are shoveled in the winter), a home gym, cinema, reading nook, home office and 2nd secluded workspace.

Our 5 acre property allows for a secluded escape, yet you will be a short drive from the best hiking and skiing in the MWV.

We designed our home with the intention of creating gathering spaces for groups of all sizes. Our open-concept chef's kitchen has an island with space for many sous chefs or conversationalists. We both love cooking and eating and have a full kitchen of cooking equipment. This lively nexus of our home feels magical during a colorful sunrise, or when you turn off the lights at night to stargaze from the couch.

In the summer and fall, our deck facing North and South Doublehead allows guests to feel immersed in the treetops and mountains. We seasonally keep a grill and patio table outside to expand places to dine in our home.

We also cherish the one-on-one time we can capture when bringing together family or old friends. We recommend catching up over hot chocolate on our porch rocking chairs overlooking Mount Kearsarge. Or, maybe bringing coffee and a friend up to our nook behind the stairs on the second floor landing. It's the warmest spot in the house in the mornings and a quiet place to watch the sunrise. We recommend bringing up a yoga mat from because it's also the best spot in the house for a morning stretch.

In the basement, we have board games and puzzles--in case you also enjoy a puzzle or game left out for a few days. Our home gym has all the essentials for a range of workouts (weights, rower, yoga gear, balance balls, rings, etc.) The bedroom and bathroom downstairs allow part of your party to feel like they have plenty of their own space within a group trip.

At our home, getting into nature is easy! We love walking down to the National Forest across the street from our house to hike the Doublehead loop and spot our house from its north peak. Within a short drive, there is a myriad of downhill and cross country skiing option in the winter + spring, and hikes and lakes in the summer + fall. We also have a list of nearby attractions and things to do if you have any more questions.

We hope you enjoy all our home has to offer as much as we do. We worked hard to build this home and look forward to sharing it with others to enjoy as well.

A mountain top paradise gathering
We knew we had found a gem simply seeing pics and description and it was everything we hoped it would be. Property totally matched with description and the house was ideally suited for our gathering of 6 adults and four kids ages 3,4,5 and 6. Beds were comfy, one full bath on each of three levels so each family had their own space. Kitchen was large and easy for multiple people to get snacks/meals together. Well-equipped Kitchen, games and game room, great gathering spaces.Location was ideal for our Easter family reunion. Lots of local flavor- Zebs General store, outdoor parks, library, hiking nearby,Conway scenic railway (splurge for the glass dome seating), Living Shores aquarium. As another reviewer said, owner described there are lovely views of mountains atop their hill from every room In the house, so you will need 4-wheel drive should there be snow. Otherwise, if you had to stay housebound it would be a great property to enjoy being indoors. Owner was always accommodating and quick to respond. We were so grateful the owners have so graciously opened such a unique property for others to enjoy. Truly a special house! Many thanks to Chelsea and Mark.

A Little Bit of Heaven
Our stay at Doublehead Lodge was simply amazing! The property was just as described; an amazing new home on top of a small mountain with spectacular views, including Mt Washington and Black Mountain. Also so much privacy! And Doublehead Mountain trail across the street was a huge bonus. We love Jackson, and could not imagine a better place to stay there. The only note is the owner was completely forthright and accurate on the need for four-wheel drive; when it snowed, we absolutely needed it, and since we were forewarned we were prepared with lots of good food and drinks and really enjoyed being snowed in for a day in such a spectacular spot. We could have left for the day, but snowshoed across the street on Doublehead! Five stars all the way!!!

Excellent Experience
From the time of booking to checkout our experience renting this beautiful Jackson property was seamless. The house was beautiful, spotless, and had a ton of gear for our kids (think crib and baby gates), which made it so easy to rent with little ones. We will definitely be renting again!

About the host

We are nesters that have consistently been migrating for work. After planting 3 gardens and moving away--just as the trees were starting to fruit-- we decided to build our forever home in the White Mountains. The Doublehead Lodge, to us, is a place to spend quality time with family and friends, and a launching point for outdoor adventures.

During our many cross country moves, we were lucky and crazy enough to plan our routes around national parks and forests. The diverse ecosystems we saw inspire us to keep getting outside. We themed each room in the Doublehead Lodge to a different national park or forest.

Of all the spots we’ve visited, the White Mountains was where we chose to build our family home. We’re excited to share our house with you, and we hope you love your visits here as much as we do! We love hosting because we put a lot of work into our home and enjoy getting to share it with others.

We strive to create a luxury experience that includes all the amenities we appreciate when we're traveling (e.g. a starter pack of coffee, stocked kitchen essentials, soaps, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, bubble bath). We get up to the lodge often and we try to catch all the details of what needs to be restocked, or what could make our space more enjoyable. And, we're always open to new ideas! Please reach out if you need anything during your stay. We would love for our home to feel like your home, because we know how special it is to return to the same spot year to year.

What makes this property unique

Our property is a beloved family home that we treat as such. We've paid special attention to all the details and try to create the best VRBO experience possible. We built our net-zero home prioritizing access to nature, creating nooks for memorable moments with the family, and with thought of bringing people together. We love the idea of other families and friends also coming together and making memories in our home, so we do our best to facilitate that in our hosting as well.
